What a long day that was! I'd be exhausted too. Isn't it funny how just sitting in a car and going to the dr can wear you out? It did me those first few visits and I didn't have to drive 2 hours!

Glad to hear everything is looking good. Take it easy tomorrow and keep those legs up!

Thanks for the update Ruth. I have purchased & packed my compression hose - not that I am having any leg work done - but for the long lfight home.

DH uses 1 for a surgery that he had & he swears by it.

Now go elevate those legs!!

I'm a big believer in compression!  I've just got to get some at the bottom of my legs and feet and I'll be ok.....

FYI - after my TT I had no swelling in my tummy but around day 5 I got all swollen in my butt and thighs ...I put on a compression garment and was fine within 3 days so it's a good idea that you are taking something with you just in case you get misplaced swelling too.......PLUS it's a good idea for the long flight anyway.

Best wishes on your surgery.

Congrats on getting those groin stitches out so soon! I'm almost 3 wks post op and I've  still got mine and everytime I go in for a check-up, I get more!  I can't imagine what things will feel like with no stitches down there.

Sorry you are still having swelling issues though.  That sucks!

It is a big relief to have the stitches out and all the steri-strips off....it feels less sore/raw.
Hope yours come out soon!

Hope the swelling is better today.  A quick question, how long did he say to message your incisions and how often do you do it each day?

Thanks

I wish the swelling was better today too but so far it's not.  I'm hoping once I get the compression hose they will help.

Anyhow..... massage is daily when I put the the polysporin on for the next 3 weeks and then I'll be massaging in a scar cream after that.  It's not just massaging the incisions....it's also the back of my inner thighs where he did some lipo.....gotta soften the tissue that just got beat up with all the lipo stuff.

Ruth:

I think the compression garments really help with the swelling.  I just stopped wearing the long garment a couple weeks ago at about 10-11 weeks out.  I really don't swell much now--just a very little in the abdomen area above the LBL line.  Think I may get a flexees to aid with that.  I may; however, wear the long garment when I fly  as I've always  tended  to swell whenever I'm on a plane.

Hope that swelliing goes down soon for you.  Lin

Oh trust me I am probably the BIGGEST believer in the use of compression garments.  Now I'm covered in compression from my shoulders to my toes.....if I put back on the face garment I could be covered from head to toe!!!   I think I need to take of picture of this get up I'm in  LOL!
