I think it's silicone sheets that I read about on here. Can someone please explain what they do?

They help flatten out an incision so it doesn't heal all puffy or raised.
Some folks really believe in them.  I've had great success with them after my Breast Reduction.

After my 1st Brachio, my TT, LBL all of my incisions healed flat so I didn't need them.  I suspect I will want to use them in my armpit area after my recent (2nd) Brachio because there is an area in one arm that is "ropey".....the silicone strips help flatten it.

FYI - you can buy them at CVS...that's what I did for my breasts...you can cut them in half to fit along the incision line.
You can also buy other ones on line...here's a link.

Hope that helps...

wow they're really expensive. Do you reuse them the entire time? Do you use them right after surgery/ Don't laugh, I'm totaly clueless

I bought my silicone strips off makemeheal.com.  Yes they are expensive.  I spent $300 but I purchased to much.  As soon as my scars were healed I started putting them on.  OMG.. my seams are so flat you can't feel the for the most part.  They are still a lil colored though.  I have not been putting them on for a while.  I was getting a lil itchy.  I had a LBL and found the wrap that goes all the way around and velcros tight was incredible.  It also acted as a bit of a compression garment as I had a small seroma right in the middle of my tummy.  The wrap kept that nice and tight as well as flattened the scars.  I would use them again, but I'm not going to have any more surgery..  hopefully  lol

I tried the elastoplast ones from the drug store but they had to be replaced after every shower.  A box of 30 with all my scars didn't last more than a few days.  So I went with the surgical grade ones.  they are washable and reusable.  They do start to lose a lil bit of their sticky, but I just secured the ends with tape and that worked fine.  I used mine for about 6 weeks... 23 hrs a day.

My boyfriend convinced me to buy them.  Said it is like buying a new car and then not checking the tires or getting oil changes.  You spend so much money on the surgery, you would be silly not to give yourself the best after care possible.  I was unsure about them but I am a believer now.

Do they help with healing or just help to flatten the scars? I haven't had any problems with raised scars but they are wider than I would like because of poor healing. Would it help with this?

My incisions are flat too. I guess I assumed they were supposed to help the scar fade.

Glad you posted this question!

The CVS ones have helped my scars fade a little.  I scar horribly!  My scars have flattened and are lighter and I'll continue wearing them.  I get the CVS ones, you can use them for 4 days at a time and I wear them 23 hours a day too.  The shipping is free if you order them online.

So you wear them 4 days at a time and then wash them?  I scar pretty well and I was just going to use Cocoa butter and Vit E.  Dr Lo says that works just as well.
