Aw, sorry about your baby hon.  I hope things get better in the poop department for you.  Do they not recommend good old fashioned Milk of Magnesia?

Oh, and by the way, I think men fantasize about sticking things up our bums...at least that's a sick obsession my DH has...gotta slap his hands away all the time!   Men....

Thanks  - we are sorry about him too - would have been neat to have him here now with us - but then again - I would still be 300lbs and unable to get on the floor and really play with him like I would have wanted. I try very hard to look at the good that has happened since then!

Dr. Lo's office is pretty adament about the "no laxative" rule and I figure they have their good reasons.

I think my hubby likes the booty too - always trying to convince me that I just might like it.....well...even with alcohol there is NOTHING pleasant about my butt. And enema's I dont think are exactly what he was hoping for either. Haha!

If no poopy tonight - then gotta go for round too of Me vs. Fleet. Im realy REALLY hoping for a BM...

I for one - am so glad that you post this type of information. I am adding to my luggage for our trip a bottle of Phillips stool softners.

Sorry - I can't help you the rest.

YYEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS...this does happen.  Been there and done one that myself!  Yuk!  I'm sitting here, eating a handful of raisins right now.  They keep things moving for me - plus helps to curve my sweet tooth.  :)  Now...back to the BM.  I have had the same experience as one of the previous posters.  I actually started taking a stool softner the same day of my surgery, so it didn't take too long for things to get moving, but I still got backed-up.  I ended up having to do the "gloved finger thing" too!  OMG - it was bad, soooooooooo bad...BUT I SURVIVED and lived to "talk" about it.  Actually, I can't believe that I'm talking about it - oh my!   Oh well, if you're a member of OH, this is the place to come for wls answers, and NOTHING is off limits!

Happy Friday, happy "un-loading", and blessings to ALL!

Always,
Rose

I have had this problem after every surgery I have had. The anesthesia and pain Rx combo is a killer on the digestive sytem. The anesthesia slows everything down and the pain meds clog everything up. I too have had to do the "gloved finger" trick. It is horrible but unfortunately necessary. I agree, don't go to the ER better you do it yourself than have a stranger do it (they may have big fingers, ouch!). Anyway, I had some good results adding Benefiber to my coffee then drinking LOTS of water as well as the daily stool softeners. Have you tried using a laxative?

There was a thorough post on this like a year ago, and wish I could find it.

One poster mentioned that before you resort to the gloved finger, (and only works if female) to put fingers into the vagina, and you can feel the stool in the anus through the thin wall between the vag and anus. They said you can use pressure while pushing on the wall, and mash the poop into a longer shape and work it out. I'm not sure if that's much better than the gloved fingers in the butt, but it may be.

Good luck, and hope you've already has relief by the time this posts.

I have had SOME relief, yes but by no means DONE.
This is actually a good idea - and Im going to attempt this one next. I figure my vagina is MADE to put things into it - can't hurt as much as trying to stick something into an exit only orifice!

I am so sorry that your hurting! I swear that the Smoth Move Tea is the best thing for this. It tastes good and doesn't cramp you up. We call it poo tea in our house. It makes your poo fluffy and it comes out easy in about 8 hours. My box was about $6 at the natural foods store.
