mini arm tuck - short scar brachioplasty???

Yay! I knew it was out there, but like I said it isn't very popular. Out of the dozen PS, I saw here in Dallas, only one had done it before (horizontal scar not armpit) and 2 more said they'd make me their first...all in the $2500-3000 range. This was the same price quoted me by the Mexico PS that did my LBL and thighs (he priced it the same as the full brachioplasty). So obviously if I'm gonna pay the same, I'd stay closer to home! Unfortunately, I'm not totally sold on any of these 3 docs that I'll get the BL/BA result I expect...and I want to do both breasts and arms in one surgery! Last week, I did go to my local teaching hospital's PS Residency program after a 6 mo wait for a consult. I really liked the resident and the Dept Chair that would assist him is well known with post WLS PS. The resident said he would do the mini arm tuck, but he wanted to stage my breasts out in 2 surgeries (first lift, wait 3 mo then aug) since I had a previous breast surgery (reduction 12 yrs ago). I was also shocked that their pricing wasn't much less (20%) than the full docs I'd seen in Dallas. What they don't charge in surgeon fee they make up for in OR, hospital, and ana fees!! So I'm torn! Regardless what I choose, I'm doing it before May because I'm on leave from work and have the time! How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?! Did you go home the same day? Jane: Maybe the article and photos on the website above can help you convince your doc! The reasons why I was told some of the Dallas docs would not do it was because of it being a newer procedure that hadn't been perfected yet and the increase chance of wide, thick scarring due to the tension in that area of the arm. Beth: Can you break out the $12,500 by procedure? Does your doc have a private operating suite or is it in a hospital? Is this overnight or outpatient? Heather, The price I was quoted was for all three procedures. I believe I get a break on the price for combining. I'm not sure what just the axillary would cost without the BL/BA and lipo. For this surgery, he uses his operating suite. For my LBL, it was done in hospital with a minimum 2 night stay. I stayed 3. Beth
