Hi! I'm wondering if anyone has had the short scar brachioplasty (arm tuck of only the inner skin). I've seen both an armpit incision and a horizontal incision..both 4 inches in length...not a very popular incision so photos are rare. I'm confident lipo will not solve my problem and I do not want the long scar. Do you have any photos you could share? Were you a self pay? Cost and location of your doc? Did you combine with any other procedure (possibly BL/BA)? What was your recovery time? Thanks to anyone that can help......Heather

I have not heard of this before, but I am interested, too.

Hi Heather, I had the axillary incision done to tighten the upper arm skin as you say. I didn't want the long scar either. If I would of had to have that kind I wouldn't have done it. My arms weren't that bad and I just wanted the inner skin tightened a little. I did take a couple pictures the other day I could share with you. I combined it with a breast lift. Recovery wasn't bad at all. I was just a little tight for reaching too high up for about a month but it gradually got better. All my PS has been self pay (I've only had two surgeries) and it was done in Chicago near where I live. I am on my way out the door to work so I can't post any pictures now. Will work on that this evening. Lora

Lora, I've meant to ask you, what was the cost for the axillary incision for your arms? If I even considered having that done, I would only want to go that way. And the recovery? How was that? Got most of the stitches out from my breast revision... still one more week for the ones underneath. Have a good upcoming weekend! Vickie

Hey Vicki I don't know the breakdown for the axillary incision. It was combined with my BL last October. I have the breakdown for the surgeon fee, anesthesia, etc. but the surgery was just by the hour. I didn't think the recovery was bad. I felt tight at first and kinda pinchy feeling but it healed good I think. They have to be careful with the incision in that direction so they don't get it too tight so when stretch your arm straight up it isn't too tight and pull. I have pics, did you see them in my BL pictures? Did I show your those? I can't remember. Lora

Lora, I did see them in your pics, they look fantastic! That's why I was saying if I ever decide to get rid of this flab, I'd like to go that way if I could. Hope all is well. Take care, Vickie

Heather,

who did your surgery? Are you happy with the results of the mini?

this is the kind of armlift that I want. Most of my arm skin is in my arpit, so the long scar is not really appropriatefor me. Many surgeons will not dothe Axillary cut brachioplasty. Many think that it's too "ugly". I think with the right surgeon, you can have good results. I know the doc that does them the most is in Bethesda, MD. I'm trying to convince my PS to do one on me. I hope he says yes!

Hi Jane I wonder if there is more than one kind of axillary incision? Because I feel between the incisions for the arm or armpit I'd rather have the axillary rather than something big and long. I don't think my incision is ugly. I wi**** wasn't there at all, but it's not ugly. It's a 4 inch crescent shape at the upper part of my armpit and cannot be seen at all unless I raise my arm straight up. My surgeon pulled up some of the armpit droop and skin/fat and tightened the fascia and skin on my upper inner arm. Lora

I am having the axillary brachioplasty combined with BL/BA (silicone under the muscle) and some lipo to contour my waist area on May 16th. I am self-pay and it will cost $12,500 for the doc and $1,700 for the anesthesia. The PS is located in Kirkland, WA just east of Seattle. I never carried much of my weight in my upper arms. The area of loose skin I have now is mostly near the arm pit. When I approached the PS about a BL/BA he asked if I thought I'd ever want anything done with the arms. He said it's a very simple procedure and works well combined with a BL/BA since they are in the area already. Also, he told me how they cut the tissue for the BL and the tissue in the axillary area seems to have a better result when done together. Im going today for an LBL follow up. Plan on asking a few more questions. Still trying to pin down a size for the near girls and I want to make sure that the flab that pushes out above my bra (guess that's side boobs) will be removed with all this. Beth
