Hi Victoria, I did end up deciding to go with Dr B to get the VSG and everything was good.  Maybe we can meet one day at one of the support groups.

I had Dr Fernando Bonnani at Abington.  He was great!  I would highly recommend him.  At the support groups I hear good things about DR G too.

I have a friend who had Dr Meilahn and she also said he was great.    So now I just made you more confused since I have nothing bad to say about any of the docs.  lol

Hi there!  I had posted that a long time ago.  Guess what I did have Dr Bonnani and I got the VSG.  I'm 7 weeks post op now.  No major complications just very minor ones like a little nausea and constipation. etc.   I've lost 51 pounds since my highest weight.  And in the last 9 weeks (including the preop diet) I lost 41 lbs.  I've very happy even though my weight loss is a little slower than average.  :-)

We should meet sometime.  Do you go to the support groups.  If so send me a private message on here with your number and I'll call you.  My name is Tammy b****ake care.

My daughter, Amy, and I are feeling the effects of eating on plan.  We put down the food, and our emotions are right on the surface.  I am glad we are working a program of recovery that deals with the physical, emotional and spiritual.  I am also so grateful we have each other.  I don't know how people do this alone.    I had a moment of sanity this morning as I once again stepped on the scale.  I thought, What am I doing?  Am I going to change the way I eat based on the number I see?  Do I really want to play that game?  Nope.  I do not.  I like eating the way I am eating right now.  My body will weigh what it wants to weight.  I don't care.  I have a sponsee who taught me that when you weigh and measure your food, you do not have to weigh and measure yourself.  Today I am eating nutritious food to nourish and fuel my body.  I am NOT eating to punish myself, or reward myself, or cover up emotions or fix, change or control anything.  Go me!  Just for today.   Thanks for being part of the journey!

Deb,

It is a roller coaster ride emotionally leading up to the day of surgery and pretty much the first few weeks post-op, but ooohhh so worth it and I'm sure you are as about prepared as one can be, though we are never really prepared for the changes that come and I mean that in a most positive way!  The things I dreamt about doing for years, I was finally able to begin doing as I shed the pounds.  This journey has it's share of highs and lows, but the highs far outweigh the lows.

Wishing you all the best with your surgery and recovery and feel free to attend our support groups when you are ready!  Jus****ch for the posts.

Laureen
