Good mornin', ya'll.
New jobs are definately a challenge. When my DH was in the Navy, I had a new job everytime we changed duty stations. I did lots of different things. But, we were not dependant on my income and I only took jobs I liked. In this economy, you have you take what you can get.
Ahh, camping. Yep, that sand gets everywhere. We began camping with the kids at Bellows Beach. We had 2 small pup tents. One for the kids, one for DH and I. As the years went by we graduated to bigger tents, then a cab over camper, then a class A motor home. By the time we got to our 35 foot fifth wheel the kids were grown and it wasn't "camping" any more.
The Memorial we had for Dad was attended by more people than any that had been held at their retirement place. He didn't want one but Mom, Sis and I did it anyway. It was WAY too difficult! Afterwards Mom said please DO NOT have one for her! When she passed, everyone kept asking about a Memorial. My Sis and I decided we just could not go through that again. The Chaplain at the place said all the residents wanted to say goodbye, would we object if they had one themselves. We said go for it. So after Di and I went back home, they had her Memorial. I know Momma understood!!
Well, gotta go. There are things we can't get at the commissary that I have to go get at WM. Like greeting cards, index cards, other office supply type stuff, some new wash cloths, etc. I need to go before it gets too hot. Gonna be another scorcher here.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Morning ladies of OFFland:
Had a good first day back at work yesterday, but was really tuckered out, so had a 1 1/2 hr. nap....bad, couldn't sleep last nite then...it was after 1 a.m. when the Tylenol PM kicked in.

Have laundry going this morning, then sis and I have to drive 20 miles to a Walgreens to pick up a waterproof wrap for my foot so I can get a good shower.  The local Walgreens doesn't carry it.  Oh well a little road trip never hurts, and spending time with sis is always good.

Talking about eulogies for our Mom's .....I wrote a poem for mine called "And the Song Goes On".  My mom had a beautiful singing voice (guess that's where I got mine from) and sang solos well into her 80's.  Now she is singing in heaven, and the song goes on.  I had to have the pastor read it, I would have never made it thru w/o breaking into tears, which I shed many of anyway.

Supposed to be a bit cooler here today -- so far it feels like the humidity is 100%!

Love and best wishes to all my friends here on OFF,
Pat R.

Good morning Trish and OFF family to post later. Happy Tuesday.

So yesterday I worked out in the pool after work at the gym. Increased my weights and my body feels it this morning. I'm back to the gym after work, plan on going every single day this week cuz next week the gym is closed all week for cleaning. I'll walk next week, work out in my little above ground pool at home and ride my bike. I'll also be working overtime next week.

So I'll be starting my new job on Monday. I'm excited and ready to get back on a nursing unit. Being around more people. Making new friends. Learning new things. Hopefully I'll find a couple of staff members who go to the gym before work since I'll be on the 3-11 shift. Can't wait to get back to the Butts and Guts class and taking Zumba classes, that's Monday thru Thursday and Friday I'll get my butt in the pool and work out. That will energize me, get me through working the 2nd shift then go home and hopefully go to bed. No watching TV that late at night...I'm making new habits. Why sit in front of the TV and snack...even if it's healthy snacks. Get to bed then get up in the morning and not sleep until noon. New changes coming my way!

Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie

Good morning Trish and OFF-

Sunny here today in Maine after several days of cool, damp and dreary weather.

Trish sorry you are struggling with the new job.  Cut yourself some slack.  If you had really screwed up royally they would have called you in already.  Take a deep breath and give yourself some time to readjust to working again.

Yesterday my cousin and I drove 80 miles north to go to a surplus warehouse store called Mardens.  They're exclusive to main.  They buy up excess, damaged and going out of business inventories.  It's like going to a giant indoor garage sale.  The one we drove to has fabric so as quilters we wanted to check out the bargains.  You can get fabric for $2.00 a yard! and it's not chintzy fabric, it's quality quilting fabric.

I drove the trip up and she drove the trip back.  We went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch when we got to Presque Isle.  The only problem was that they only had brocolli cheese or white bean chicken chilli for soup.  I ordered brocolli cheese and picked around the pieces of brocolli but finally gave up.  As we left the mall I stopped and bought some wonton soup at the chinese place in the food court.  I was tired when we got home and my back was bothering me due to the lousy passenger seat in my car.  My cousin is a very slow shopper so I did a lot of knitting in the car waiting for her.  Also got out and walked the parking lot to move some gas bubbles.

I am amazed at my recovery.  I have no pain or major discomfort.  I have some gas but not as bad as before surgery.  Incisions look healthy and the bruises are fading fast!

Vickie saw that pic on Facebook last night.  The dress was gorgeous and you really need to post an updated picture on OH that reflects the weight loss!  You looked terrific.  Really like that red hair too.

Julia I'll be thinking of you as you continue the planning and execution of the memorial service for your Mom.  I hope that you're able to get some sleep soon to help with the grieving process.

Well, I must get off the computer and get some stuff done today.  Tired of sitting in the recliner.

Thanks, Cindi!  Back home again tonight and just now catching up on all the OFF chatter from the past three days.  Yeah, I thought that pic was pretty good.  I'll have to work on getting a new profile pic posted here on OFF.  Might not happen before vacation next week, though.  SO much to DO in the next two days!  I'd better get myself to bed soon!

Morning OFF family!!!

Well it is raining here but starting to clear up finally!! Glad of tat...but not sure if it will start up again...I think it said 80% chance of rain today..figures...I am off today and lots of running around to do!!! GRRRR Need to stop t dr's office to pick up orders for mamogram and also bone density scan. Then to OBGYN dr to set up appointment for pap test. These new phone books I can't find the phone number in there!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR And they say its sooo much easier to find the number you need??? Yeah right!!!!  Also need to go to bank and then find a couple birthday cards and a Baptism card. Make a quick stop at the dentist see if they can figure out what it is that feels like I have something "stuck" in one of my teeth! I am thiking its from when they cleaned my teeth last time they missed a piece...but who am I? LOL

Got into it with another tenant last night about his dog off leash AGAIN. He said his dog is ok...I said that MAY be true but there IS a RULE here to HAVE your dog ON a LEASH when OUTSIDE. He said he was never told. BULL!!!! Manager told him AND his sister MANY times!!! Any how he told me to prove it and then told me to get out of his face!!! I called Rick and then he called manager and sh came out and I told her what happened and she went over to tell him again. Not sure what happened but I am sure I will after Rick gets home today. Why do people think they can break the rules just because THEIR dog is OK? What would happen if another dog was NOT ok? Then what? What part of that don't they understand???? I don't get it!!!

Anyhow I got to sleep until 9 this morning and only got up because I had to go potty...then I could hardly get out of bed I hurt so much!! Back is really hurting today. Legs OMG another story...feet not to bad so far.

Well seeing as its not raining and the sun is back out I better get my running around done now...thoughts and prayers going out to those that need them!!!

HUGS

Hiya Trish, OFFr's,

I so well know how you are feeling with regards to the job, as I have had some of those same issues within starting this job that I am now at for the past 2+ years.  A new job, no matter what we know, is stressful and there is a learning period, so it's ok to ask for assistance, it is even expected at most jobs, as no matter what we know, we don't know it from the perspective of a "new" environment.  You are at least lucky in that you like what you are doing, unlike myself, I am simply doing what I must to pay the bills.  Wishing you less stress about the paperwork and more peace about the enjoying what you do part.

Ok, so here I am, it's Tuesday, I'm at work and wishing I were at the shore, but the bills must get paid and I am doing all I can to get that done.  I was up at 4:45, at the gym by 6 and so the day has started on a positive footing.  After work I will be heading to a good friend's house to have our AA Big Book meeting and then it will be home to sleep so I can do it all over again tomorrow (lol).

That's my day, pretty boring compared to some.

Hope you all have a good day and wishing peace and strength to those of you having life challenges.

Laureen

I remember the challenges that you faced when you began your job.  It was a difficult situation for you, but you stuck with it and triumphed  (there is a better word to use here but I can't think of it!)
I can't believe that it's  been over two years  -  tempus fugit, that's for sure.
