Karen-  When you start to type a post you have a grey bar at the top of the box.  There's a smaller just right of middle of the grey bar that is labeled size.  Click on the little black triangle and you will see all sorts of sizes to choose.  I'm using the one labeled small to type this.  Select the size you want by clicking on the work.  Then move down to the white box and type away.  Good luck my friend.

Cindi, I know how to do this but don't want to have to do it each time I post. Is there no way to change it permanently?

No, there's no way to do it permanently, not that I know how. I just change it every time I post. Easier for me to see, easier for all my friends who are sight challenged.

Choosing a color, font and size in that box is one of my favorite parts of posting!

Hi Everyone! I know that I'm extremely late posting. It's been a busy day. I am thoroughly enjoying my vacation. I slept late today, showered, primped, then headed to the casino. I put a lot in and took a lot out, mostly staying fairly even until the end when I sat down at the Wizard of Oz machine and won, won, won! That is too fun! I love this machine because it has a vibration machine in the seat and speakers up near your ears in the back. So even if you are losing it has high entertainment value. Tonight we went out to eat at an Italian restaurant- yummy. I had petrale sole. I only have a day and a half left here. I'm absorbing the relaxation and fun as much as I can as my world is likely to get harder in the next month or so. My Mom is being evaluated for Hospice on Monday. The doctor has determined that she is in the last 6 months of her life. We are having her last birthday party on Sunday- #85. It is a blessing that she won't have to linger too long in this state but saying goodbye is going to be unbelievably hard.

Oh Julia, I am so sorry about your mother.  It is heartbreaking that you are going to lose her.
We are here for you.

Julia,

I will try to find the little joy here. I just like things to work and keep it as simple as possible.

I am so happy that you are  having this wonderful little trip. We had a Lake Tahoe family reunion a few years back. What a beautiful area that is. We went out on the lake in a big boat that had a section in the bottom made of glass. When  you look down the water is the most incredible blue!

My mom's doctor told us that Mom had the right to be consulted for hospice and to make the decision. Sitting there watching her agree with her doctor that hospice help was what she was ready for was one of the hardest things I have done. She was making the decision to die. To be allowed to go gently with compassion and free from pain is something that I hope for when my time comes.

Death is a part of life but it is still so hard to say goodbye. The hospice family are very special people. You find them to be so caring for the entire extended family.

Holding you close to my heart

Julia, I'm sorry you have to go through this with your mom, but this is better than jus****ching her suffer in a hospital, like I did with my dad (who, fortunately, went much quicker than the doctor predicted ... and I was home in time). Hospice wasn't a big thing back then; wi**** was, because I had to demand the nurse call the doctor to get my father the drugs he needed to get out of pain. For crissake, he wasn't going to get addicted, he was dying! As it turned out, he died the following morning at 4 a.m.

I hope your mom can go peacefully and in your arms and without pain. That's the best anyone can wish for a loved one.

Enjoy her final birthday. Sounds like you're enjoying  your vacation. That's great.
