Good Saturday morning, y'all.
Good morning OFF-
Eileen your report of early morning temps in LA remind me of why I do not live full time in Texas. What I can't believe is that I used to visit relatives in Memphis and Arkansas during the summer. They didn't have AC and we survived. Also you might want to ask your landlord to put a dehumidifier and fans in your house until the carpet dries so you don't end up with mildew.
Well yesterday I drove down to Bangor for another meeting with my surgeon. Just was not comfortable having such a major surgery with only one meeting with the surgeon. Plus after reading so many posts on OH I had more questions. I know that I don't like surprises so I wanted to eliminate as many unknowns as possible before the day.
This weekend is my farewell to solid food. I think the thing I'm going to miss the most is the fresh fruit that is just now coming in. Strawberries peaked in Maine this week. Cherries have dropped to a reasonable price and I love them. So the weekend will be lots of fresh fruit. I also got a lobster to cook for dinner tonight. Two more Lean Cuisine's in the freezer and then most solid food is gone from the frig. Not going to throw out the celery. I figure that is a safe crunch food if needed.
All the supplies for liquid diet are laid in and ready. A friend suggested freezing the tomato soup into cubes in care we have a heat wave. Will have to adjust the printed meal plan if the weather gets really hot. I guess I can have cream of chicken soup for breakfast and save the protein drinks for later in the day.
Well enough rambling on for Saturday. Today is dump day, post office and library day. Major event in a town of only 690 residents. Have a great Saturday everyone and congrats to Monica on another day of sobriety!

Cindi:
The carpet is dry at last. The maintenance guy was supposed to fix the ceiling on Wednesday when that dried but hasn't been back. I think I'll have to bug him.
You will have solid food again, just not for a few weeks. I gave away my solid foods for a while ... my coworkers were appreciative. The idea of freezing the tomato soup in ice cubes is a good idea. Wish I had done that. We had these protein packets of cream of tomato and cream of chicken and mushroom soup; making that into ice cubes would've been much better.

Good morning Eileen and all,
Next week is my annual bone scan. Instructions said to stop the Calcium for a few days prior to the scan. All day long I keep going to the pill container and feel it is part of the day to pop those Calcium. That's one good habit I have developed over the past 5 years. Hooray.
My fur monsters were frisky last night. Annie
opened the door to the spare room. I was in bed and too lazy to get up. Big mistake. A while later I heard some commotion in the room and hallway. Up and down the hall, in the living room and back to my computer chair, lot of noise. OH OH - Better get up and check. They got into my yarn.
It was a tangled mess. Thanks Annie.

How is Baxter doing??? Think of you all fusing as a family. I know when we brought Panda, the rescued Siberian husky home years ago, Sebastion, official ruler of our home, clashed. Black cat against huge dog. Sebastionn decided to "live" ontop of frig for many months. One day he decided to take back HIS house. One swipe at Panda's nose, face to face on kitchen floor was all it took. Eventually they would sleep together and often banded together against the other 5 dogs.
He's doing well Monica. I brought this tiny black puppy into a home of 6 territorial black cats. From the first minute, he took over and monopolized the house. He's had a few not so gentle pats on the head.
They are all settling in and accepting each other. Occasionally we have a small pile of furbrats sleeping together. They had to show him that certain spots on the bed are off limits or he will become their mattress.

Eileen,
Annie has been very good since Baxter took over. Last night was her first occasion to get into trouble. As long as she is still the only one who can perch on Tom's shoulders, she is pretty mellow.
Those noisy bird toys are a hit here too. Amanda got him a farting pig. Tom has more fun with that than the animals do. figures, doesn't it?

Sober 257 days and so proud of me.
Suffice it to say yesterday was rough on me. Yoda had a tummy thing so I OCDed about that. Hubby had dental app at VA. Had the clerk check on his Ortho consult, discovered it had been discontinued by someone at medical center, so I went ballasic, MY BP went soaring. Thank God for the clerk Vanessa, a beautiful veteran now working for veterans and we have bonded. She went ballastic and knew who to call and make things happen. Thank God again.
Got home and really just collapsed for the day. Hadn't slept well Thursday night, so I guess I set myself up for pooping out. On the drive home, I explained to hubby I was NOT going to have anymore of HIS wait and see how things shake out or resolve themselves anymore. I told him I could not stand his idea that medical issues would somehow get better if he ignored them for awhile and they would go away. He admitted he hates to make a fuss about stuff until they get soooo BAD, he can't ignore them and then it does take longer to get better.
Hot and very humid here, but we had some very productive rain.
Yoda is much better today. I am too. We will keep a low profile working on pool time, cribbage, and fun.
Hope all have a good weekend, be safe and happy.
