Good morning OFFville!

I've never been the first to start the thread before!  This is a treat!

Just up, need to feed the cats and dogs, get my water and my pills.  Be back shortly!

Good Morning Vickie!

Grey and dreary here in Maine this morning.  Seems to be the pattern this year several days of sun and then many days of rain.  Just finished my pills and pedaling.  Guess I'll do indoor chores today.

Did you get those peaches picked.  How about pickled peaches?  I used to make those in my canning days.  If not frozen slices with Splenda sounds good.

Had another food night mare last night.  I know it's because I'm getting ready for the two week liquid preop diet .  I remember when I quit smoking that I dreamed several times that I was smoking a cigarette!  Really have to get over this!

Sorry for the lousy  typing.  I'm wearing a wrist splint to help myh tendonitis heal.  It's a little awkward when I reach for the upper row of keys.

Have a great day everyone!

Cindi--I do that!  I'm a very active dreamer.  Seems my subconscious likes to explore all my deep, dark, twisted, scariest (you pick an adjective!) fears and exploit them when I dream!  The worst ones I remember occurred just a few months before I had my first child; I would dream all kinds of horrible, neglectful things I might do with a baby.  I would have to wake up and tell myself, "I would NEVER do that!"

Actually, I'm no psychiatrist, but I think it's probably healthy that you're dreaming about your upcoming WLS.  I think it shows a great deal of thought and preparation on your part.  I know for me, the hardest part of the entire process was the 2-week liquid pre-op diet!  Post surgery was a snap compared to that!

Just hang in there!  Your time is getting very short now.  You can do this!

Back again!

Another super hot day here.  Yesterday, when I pulled out of the Wal Mart parking lot, the temp on my car thermometer read 106 F!  Now, that's HOT.

I did some research yesterday and consulted some friends on FB, and I've decided to try putting up my peaches with Agave Nectar.  I'm new to the Agave crave.  But I really liked what I learned about it.  It is a low glycemic non-sugar sweetner that is great for diabetics to use.  My DH is diabetic.  I found some web sites with recipes, and it turns out you can can and bake with Agave.  So I'm going to try putting up my peaches in an Agave syrup for DH.

I also bought some low sugar pectin and I'm going to try making a small batch of peach jam with the Agave.  I'm the only one who might eat it, and I don't really want to start craving sweets again, so I'll only make a very small batch just for an experiment.

Although I use Splenda now out of necessity, I really prefer to use a natural sweetner like Stevia if I can.  I just don't like the "whang" you get on your tongue after Stevia!  Ugh.  I'm hoping that Agave won't leave a funky taste in my mouth.

Got lots going on today.  Got that darn Board meeting this afternoon.  It's really time for me to wind up my service there.  I find myself resenting the time it takes to prepare for our quarterly meetings.  I'm glad this is my last year.  My term is up next May.

So I need to spend my morning prepping for the meeting, and then I'll drive down to the lake this afternoon.  This lake is only an hour away from our home.  I thought about taking the pups and spending the night down there tonight, but it's too hot to be enjoyable unless you can get out on the water.  I NEVER take the boat out by myself.  There's been too many times that DH has had to "save" us from mechanical problems when we're out on the water.  That would be just my luck if I went out by myself!

I'm already planning my next trip to Waco and to Hilltop.  Think I'll go to Waco to visit our oldest daughter next weekend, and then drop down to Hilltop and spend a week there.  Can't wait!  I've grown completely dependent on my monthly visits to see my kids and grandson.  Don't care much for all the driving, but I love the company!

Have a great Saturday everyone!  Love you all!

Agave nectar is GREAT! I think you'll enjoy it. My kids a Vegan and use natural sweeteners only, and Agave is their "go to" choice. Let us know how you like it!

Vickie, my SIL uses agave a lot in baking and cooking. She doesn't can, though, so I don't know what that's like. She also uses stevia. She's not diabetic, just very concerned about sugar and health (her mother is diabetic, though, and lives with them).

Hi Vickie  -  it's starting out to be a beautiful day here in southwestern Ontario.  I think that it will be hot later on, but so far, there is a soft breeze and low humidity, and I like it!

No actual plans today except to be productive in some way.  Yesterday, I went to the aquatics class, came home and did absolutely nothing for the rest of the day.  I have staples to take out of my hardwood floor that are staring me in the face every time that I walk down the hall  -  you'd think that I could get that done at least.  But noooooooooooo
This is the only time of the year that I have the time and energy to complete copious tasks at home.  I HAVE to get my skinny butt into gear or I will regret it until next summer.
We're having a sidewalk sale downtown, which is one block from me.  I have everything that I will ever need, but I will go to the sale and will promise myself that I will buy nothing other than a cappuccino.
I've fed the dogs and watered my back garden and had breakfast, time to get going and enjoy the rest of the day.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning Vickie and OFF family!!!!

WOW Vickie you are one busy woman!!!! I would LOVE to have some of your peaches and pickles...LOL Sounds sooo good right now!!! Peaches and cottage cheese...yummmo!!!!! ;-)

Been working alot of hours again and we finally got our Smoothie machine in and up and running!!! So lucky me got to fill it up for the first time...mix goes into a huge bucket stir it up and then life and pour into the machine...yeah I tried to pick it up and OMG that about killed my back!!!!! So yes my back is killing me once again and I am furious about it!!!!! The one girl I work with is almost 6 foot tall and she goes to the bakery for "training" to work there...so that left me alone to do this filling of the machine. Sighs. This same girl has been a thorne in my side again...she is a snitch big time and along with my back killing me I also have this knife in it from her!!!! Yeah she is a back stabber and I didn't appreciate it one bit for what she said to someone about nme!!!! She knows I am upset with her and I hope she does get moved to the bakery to work so I will no longer have to work with her!!!!!

Got my check yesterday and had it in my pocket all day and never looked at it till I went to the bank. I got my raise!!!!! WOW!!! I got a 40 cent an hour raise!!! Highest you can get!!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!! I didn't get my review yet so this was a huge shock to me!!!! Now I can't wait to get that review to hear about how I got this nice raise!!!! :-) Guess they are seeing that I do ALOT back there huh??? LOL

Working today 1-9 which I hate with a passion...closing always makes my back hurt more and right now I don't need more hurting for it!!!!

Got my new memory foam topper for the bed and man that sure helps the pain in the hips!!! I can finally sleep on my side again with out being in pain right away!!!! Only problem I have is keeping the sheet corners on the mattress!!! It supposed to be able to go on top of a pillowtop mattress but I beg to differ on that...I already have deep pocket sheets but they sure don't go under the corners at all!!! Wonder if there are deeper sheets available? Have to go looking I guess.

Been to the pool 2 nights in a row now...was a *****illy at first but then it was nice...funny thing happens when we go to the pool....seems everyone leaves...LMAO Rick is in charge of the pool and when you do things "wrong" you get afraid of him and leave....ROFLMAO!!! First night we went people had 5 guests in there!!!! You are allowed to have 1 guest per apartment not 5 like the did!!! Rick never said a word to them...they all of a sudden got hungry and left FAST!!! Hahahaha!!! Last night a few people were in there and they left when they saw us coming there...LOL wonder what they were doing 'wrong"?? Rick went out earlier when I called him and told him I thought one of the kids that was banned from the pool was inside it. Kid was sitting there at the table and when he saw Rick coming he put his hat on and pulled down over his face so Rick couldn't see who it was!!! So Rcik left after walking around and soon as he got away from pool area this kid gets out of there ASAP!!!! Now We know it was one of them that was banned!!!! Yeah it was one of the druggies!!! Hopefully his mommy will be moving soon so this should end.

Well its time for me to take Bandit out for another potty walk and then I need to get ready for work...going to be another hot one in there today...getting heat rash on my legs again from this heat!!! No I can't wear my capri's when I am working in food court...grrrrrrrrrrr its not as if they were "short shorts" but its one of the rules for working in and around food...dumb if you ask me, but I don't make the sanitizer rules there.

Thoughts and Prayers to those that need them!!!

HUGS

I have a memory foam mattress topper from QVC, too, and I found it helped a lot. The cats liked it too ... had to lay it somewhere to let it poof out, so the only place was on the bed ... and the cats plopped down on it right away to help out. I had cat bodies imprinted on the memory foam to start. LOL.

I have found that the Northern Lights sheets I got from QVC covered the bed best, but then I don't have a pillowtop mattress.
