It's Friday, what are y'all doing?

Hi y'all:

Can't sleep, it's nearly 5 a.m. and so I finally got out of bed. Juliette is wound up, too ... must be something in the air.

Rough night at work, too ... I won't go into details but I was not happy. I really wish I would go back to getting my days off together ... this schedule is not good for my health, physical or mental.

Anyway, not much else going on ... it's payday and my cleaning fairy is coming later this morning. I hope I can get a couple hours of sleep before she calls and tells me she's on her way. I want to run to the bank, too, before she gets here.

So after doing everything else that hasn't helped me sleep (and I'm still in pain), I came out and made a cup of Sleepytime Extra tea, hoping that will help get me to sleep. This is the third day of this ... my sleep schedule is really screwy now.

Hope everyone has a good day. I plan to do laundry and watch baseball.

Hello to everyone -

I have another sleep study tonight - I've just been diagnosed with sleep apnea, so I'll join those of you who've had to use a CPAP at night.  I'm not too excited about that, but hopefully the apnea will get better after the surgery.

My big news is that I have a surgery date - August 10.  I'm excited and scared - but that is usual.

I've also been a little bit too successful on my pre-op diet - and suddenly dropped a whole bunch of weight, so I'll have to pay for my surgery, but that way I have a date.  I think of it as paying for a new car, but a new body will last much longer!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Eliza

Good morning Eileen and OFF family to post later. Happy Friday! Whooooo and it's payday Friday for me!

Well yesterday was a sad day in Grand Rapids, this guy kills 7 people including his 10 yr. old daughter, 2 ex-girlfriends, and shot at other people. Had a chase down the highway, goes over the other side of the highway, luckily no one was injured on the chase. During the downtown chase he shot a lady in the arm who was in her car. Later he broke into a house when he went down a embankment into a sub division. Held hostages for several hours. The TV covered this news all night long. Finally he shot himself in the head. The man was doing cocaine in the house holding hostages, let the female go for exchange for cigs and Gatorade. The whole situation is unreal.

My gut is still upset with all this happening. I was watching it on TV and pouchy revolted with me watching the news. So many people effected by this stupid human being, he was pure evil.
Oh he shot a guy in the nose, now all of us would be dead if that happened to us but this man had cancer as a child and had a titanium plate, the bullet bounced off! He was treated and released at the hospital. Angels around when all this was happening. More people could have been injured or killed. All 3 hostages were safe in the end. This dude I'm happy to say is dead. He doesn't deserve life. He solved the problem and killed himself. Family and friends say he was bi-polar. Even his family were afraid of him.

So today I will give thanks to the police, they did a great job and put their lives on the line.
Today I will give thanks for life and prayers going to the families of everyone effected by the events of yesterday. It started around 3:30pm and ended at 11:30pm. Sad and you know life goes on. The world will continue to turn and Grand Rapids will pick up the pieces and pull together. Everyone wants to feel safe and secure. Last night in GR that was not the case.

Hugs and prayers for all in need. I'm going to have a relaxing weekend, enjoy my yard, take walks and just give thanks! Hugs Debbie

These horrific acts around our country affect us all on many levels.  I know that crime and shooting incidents affected me while in TX and added to my becoming afraid to leave the RV. The RV park was on a major highway in San Antonio and I began believing snipers were watching us. My mind was was wrapped around this and I ALLOWED MYSELF to BELEIEVE IT WAS TRUE. Drinking exacerbated and increased my paranoia.
Prayers to the family's who are living thru this pain as they try to come to understand how this could happen. PTSD comes from trauma whether from war or life exposure.

Monica we really do live in a crazy up-tilted world sometimes.
My stomach is still rolling with these events. Unbelievable what happened. I want to feel safe always and I thank God for our Military men and woman serving us along with our policemen and firemen.

I was so sorry to hear of the events in Grand Rapids. I am sure that everyone there thinks of this as being the type of thing that happens "someplace else." You are right though - in tragedy, the community will pull together and hopefully the survivors and family members will be surrounded with prayers and love.

I am commiserating with you all and just want to say a word about the terrible thing that has happened here in Florida (I live in Daytona Beach). I am speaking about the Casey Anthony trial...thank God it is off the TV, it's all there was for days.  I have tried but I can't put that little one's beautiful face out of my mind.  Bless us all during these times.....Samantha

Yeah, I saw this from some friends of mine on FB, who directed me to Mlive. Strange, where this happened wasn't far from where I lived before I bought my condo. Some people I knew in GR knew people who were held hostage or were shot ... so creepy. I feel so tied to GR still. I lived in that area for 10 years and it had become home to me. It's not like that ... it's a nice city and area.
