Combatting Regain. . . what are you doing?

Good Tuesday Morning,

Had a wonderful mini-vacation with my daughters and the older grandchildren that live in Florida, mostly we just hung out as my reason for being there was mostly about lending moral support for my older daughter who is going through some tough times, and while I wanted to take them away for the weekend, it was more important to make sure my older daughter's vehicle was safe and stays in good condition, via new tires, brakes, belts and wheel alignment and then we shopped for a new vehicle for my younger daughter so she could give her stepmom her 2004 car.  We did go to the beach one day, where I played in the surf with my grandson and the rest of the time we just vegged ou****ching the big news down in the area of where she lives, the Casey Anthony trial, such a sad situation. . .

So while I did not get to the gym, I did a lot of walking, played in the surf and on most days I ate the way I'm supposed to and when I got on the scale this morning the truth was there, no gain, no loss and since I got home so late last night, not able to fit the gym in today, way too tired, but tomorrow I will get myself back in there and doing what I know to work.

That's how I'm combatting my regain, by making healthy choices, logging everything I eat, getting in my decaf fluids, vitamins and incorporating some form of physical activity as part of my everyday life.

Have a good day!

Shirley,

I LOVE ZUMBA, unfortunately, I cannot afford the classes right now as well as the fact they start too late for me, as when I do them I am energized for hours aftewards and the classes I used to take are at 8 p.m.  I hope to find some earlier ones elsewhere in the fall, as in the summer I happy to do my current routine. . .  great workout and just in case you feel you can't do the moves others around you can, the important thing is to continue to move, doing the best you can, wear a good supportive shoe and dance your fat away. . .  there is also a ZUMBA gold for us wonderful over 50 set if you can find it, or feel that it would be better suited to you, but I doubt it will kill you and more than likely you will really enjoy it, it is a lot of fun. . .  I might even invest in the cds and do it at home, but I think half the fun is doing it with others. . .

Okay, have to ask: what is ZUMBA?  Exercise, I know, but what exactly is it?

Zumba is an aerobic fitness program created by Miami-based dancer and choreographer Beto Perez and two entrepreneurs, Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion. It originated in Colombia in the 1990s and is taught by some 20,000 instructors in 35 countries.

You can work off up to 800 calories in a session

Whoa!  Gonna change your name to Wikipedia!  LOL!

Thank you, Laureen, but what I meant was, what kind of exercise is it?  I have to be a little careful with my ankle.  Is there a lot of running, jumping, pounding involved?  I can't do much of that.

chances are you can't do it, though there is a newer Zumba Gold, which I have not yet attended and it might be a little less intensive, if you have a problem with your ankle, until it is 100%, I'd say no Zumba for you. . .  it is dance that involves a lot of movement.  If you google it, you can see what it is. . .

What am I doing to combat regain.  Well this past weekend...Not a D$#@ Thing.

Went to Louisiana and hubby came along.  Not a good thing for my food plan.  He like to tool around all day so we are never near home at meal time and that means RESTAURANTS.  I made the best choices available and watched portions but still too much hidden fat and sugar.  My recent 20 pound lost just suffered a 2 pound regain.  Back on the right track today and hopefully I loose them this week.  C'est la vie.
