Soaking Saturday-What's UP?

Hi Monica and my OFF family:

I slept a little too late today. I got up at 8:30 to go to the bathroom, decided it was too early, so I went back to sleep. Had some weird dreams and the next thing I knew, it was 11:30 a.m. Wow, I guess I needed the sleep.

I started reading a book about Betsy Ross. Very interesting. Her great-aunts were unmarried and businesswomen ...ran their own shops at a time you wouldn't have expected women to be shopkeepers. The one aunt was a stay maker; the other made gowns. You would think both were jobs that women would do, but no, they were traditionally men's jobs. Betsy got into upholstery making: pillows, cushions, draperies, mattresses, etc. Even though she married eventually (3 times), she was able to support herself. Fascinating!

My spaghetti sauce from scratch (mostly) is wonderful, although I haven't eaten any of it yet. I was going to have it today, but tummy isn't feeling up to it. But it smells wonderful. I have to throw a can of mushrooms in there yet. (forgot to buy fresh 'shrooms). I put Italian sausage in it last night, so that's well cooked too.

No rain here, Monica, just sunshine and humidity, ugh.

I like the idea of a giant check and you holding it.

I work tonight and tomorrow. Don't know next week's schedule yet, so don't know if I have Monday off or another day off for the holiday. Just wish I'd have two days off in a row.

Well, that's all for me right now. Drinking wonderful K-cup of Island Coconut coffee. Yummy. Watching the Phillies-Blue Jays playing. My White Sox play the Cubs at 3 p.m. but I'll be at work and of course it probably won't be on TV.

Well, have a good day.

Hi to Monica and all the OFF family,

Yesterday I made 2 Excel spreadsheets. One for me to track my food, water and exercise. This way I can carry it with me where ever I go. It will help to see where I am in real time rather than at the end of the day when I use the health tracker. Using it today and I think it will be a very good tool.  The other was for my PCP. It will give him the ability to plug in information to help him keep track in a more organized fashion. I think he will be happy with it. Once I say I can do these things many people want spreadsheets to organize their finances. I don't mind at all because it keeps my skills up.

Feeling good today. Got 6 hours sleep 2 nights in a row. (I think.)
I think the worst of the Mania is over. Have settle down quite a bit.

This is a very unusual situation for me, but I met a man. Yikes. What do I do now? I quit dating 21 years ago. I'm as nervous as a school girl. I'm still a really big girl. I wasn't expecting someone to show interest in me this soon. We are at the talking stage. I like what he has to say. He said I have beautiful eyes. Wow. that's cool. (my eyes turn different colors depending on what I'm wearing.) He also saw me in the height of my mania. He said that before this he would have been scared of me, but feels surprisingly comfortable with it. HE IS SO SWEET. He also has nice eyes, great smile, and is tall. I like tall very much. We will see if this goes anywhere. If not, it is still fun to have a nice looking man be interested.

     Take care,     Mag

How very nice for you Mag. Now let me know if I am off base, but dating in 2011 is VERY DIFFERENT FROM DATING IN OUR YOUTH. Learned that from the children of my BF a few years after her hubby died at age 39 and her children, young adults filled her in. Be careful, breath deep and go slow. Have fun.

Mag,

You are not so big now!  You're just not used to seeing yourself through new eyes.  I think this is a wonderful development for you!  Just what you need right now.  I think you should enjoy it!!

P.S.  The sweet ones are hard to find.  Grab hold!

Mag....have fun but please do go slowly. Watch out how much info you are giving him.  If he rushes you... be careful......go at your own speed.

I am dating and know I have had to kiss a lot of toads!!

Take care....good luck.....hugs...connie d
