Good morning Carla and everyone.....

Jacki....so nice to see your post this morning.....you have been missed.

Not much planned here. I am doing laundry. I just hung some sheets out to dry.

I went to the doctor this morning. I had fasting labs taken...7 vials of blood....glad they left me some!
I also had the X-ray of my lungs done. Sure hope I get some relief from the pain soon. I am really concerned!! They said it will be a few days before I get the results.

I need to cut up some fruit  before it goes bad....this warm weather makes it ripen so quickly.
I will make a fruit salad to go with dinner tonight.

Wishing you all an awesome Monday. Sending up prayers for many.

Love and hugs to all...connie d

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Slept well but I'm having problems with a tooth ... not good because I don't have money to get it fixed. This dentist wants money up front and I will not have it. My FSA is toast ... went through $3,000 in six months (well, half went to the dentist for the first crown; dental insurance only paid for $400 of that).

Yesterday, I closed my eyes for a few minutes after lunch to take a nap; wasn't working, so I picked my glasses back up ... everything was fuzzy. Well, when I was getting ready to go to work, I found my left lens in my glass case. Obviously, it fell out of the frame when I put the frame back in the case, so that's the reason I couldn't see right. I got the lens back in, but I'm not sure it's in sturdy enough. I need to go back to the eye doctor to get that set right.

Problems, problems, problems! I work tonight and tomorrow night, then have Wednesday off ... maybe I'll do my running then. It's hot and humid here again. Nothing new there. Work was trouble-free last night.

Well, have a good one.

Hello everyone!

I thought I would get on here early this morning and post, but instead we made an emergency run to the Home Depot in Bulverde this morning and we were gone until noon!  I'm really proud of DH for tackling this bathroom remodel and I'm a little in awe of his ability to do all of these things, BUT--the man does NOT know how to shop!  Seems we have to go back to Home Depot over and over and over again.  If I knew what we needed, I could get us organized and we could make fewer trips, but WTH.  It's only time and money, right?  LOL!

So, wanted to tell you all about Benny's birthday party on Saturday.  Oh, it was such fun!  Lots of work to get ready for it, but it was worth it.  Got the food all prepped on Friday.  My daughter picked a safari theme for the party, so I decorated a little lion cake (just 6") for Benny and then I made about 30 little monkey face cupcakes.  They were so cute!

(Unfortunately, I don't know how to make icing and decorate cakes without getting some of it in my mouth!!!  I really did try not to "taste" anything, but I did.  Oh, dear.  I think I might be one of those people who do not dump.  I never noticed a single problem, not even after sampling the icing, the cake, and all of the candies we used to decorate the cupcakes.  I did have enough sense to get them all out of the house "toot sweet", so my binge didn't last long!)

Anyway, we had a very nice turnout for the party and Benny was just adorable.  I posted lots of pics on FB.  It was a very fun day.  I got to spend some time with a favorite auntie and also with one of my BFF's from college.  Lots of hugs and laughs.

My oldest daughter spent the weekend with us, and we spent most of Sunday with her.  As a result, we didn't get back to our construction job until pretty late on Sunday afternoon.  We did get the new plumbing installed in the shower and the new knobs and shower head put on.  SO much nicer now!

Today we are installing the tile floor.  Or at least starting on it.  I have some things to prime this afternoon, too.  I was excited to buy my paint today.  I'm ready to make things pretty!

Oh, and I finally broke my stall!  Lost a couple of pounds this week.  I'm almost to my halfway point.  I can almost see Onederland from here!

I've been trying to read and catch up with everyone's posts from the past few days.  Heads and chins up everybody!  Remember, we are all just about as happy as we make up our minds to be!

Love you all!

Afternoon Carla and OFF family!!!!

Nice here today but chance of storms tonight into tomorrow...yuck!!!! I work all day tomorrow so I am sure it will hit then...LOL

Nothing new on the happenings here over the weekend. Guy that cuts the grass told me has been driving for 32 years and NEVER has he seen anything like this where the guy didn't hit anything other than the posts and signs!! All the cars that were parked and he missed....amazing!!! Still no sign of him today or yesterday!!! His car is impounded and costing him about $200.00 a day if not more!!! The cops will get him when he tries to get his car out if they don't get him before!!! And it was peaceful last night with no dynamite going off!!!

Not much else happening here...went to the festival yesterday and wasn't impressed at all...rides were crappy so no rides for us. $4 for a 12oz beer...no way!!! can almost get a 12 pack for that here!!!! LOL So we came back home and had steak on the grill...OMG it was sooo good!!!!! I made potato salad and enough for today with burgers and dogs.

Thoughts and Prayers for those that need them!!!

HUGS

Hi Everyone,
I'm off to Toulumne to my friend's cabin. We go there each summer to scrapbook/stamp- this year I can only stay two nights. But it will be wonderful! When I get home it will be back to Mom's house.
Hope you are all well. I'll try to check back on Wednesday.

Hello All my OFF friends,
I have been lurking, but didn't post. Reading all your updates and keeping you all in my heart and prayers. I've tried explaining "my friends" on here to my DH. He can't understand how you can build a friendship on a website. But I want you all to know I appreciate all your support and your tough love.

We had a rough week/weekend. Things blew up with my kids living with me...taking over my house...After they refused to make 1/2 a car payment to me, the payment became late, I transferred the money from another account and took the car back. Sounds horrid, but they have had the car since Sept & only paid $500 to date. They had many excuses, but bottom line, they thought Mom would take care of it no matter what. Anyway, it tears my heart out, but I sent them packing. They put all their stuff back in storage and will be staying with my daughter & SIL for 1-2 weeks, then moving into their own place. Yes, I had made it too easy for them all along. I have forced them to stand on their own. My DIL apologized for her attitude and behavior. I told her I love her very much. My son is little tougher, but coming around.

I had to take Sat off from work to get my stuff out of storage (the kids had moved my living room furniture out before Thanksgiving and moved theirs in). Thanks to the wonderful heat and humidity that defines the South, I now have mounds of mold growing on my micro-fiber sofa and love seat...headed to the dump...I could probably steam clean the surface, but I'm worried about bringing mold into the house, hiding in the cushions.

So yesterday, my DH called and said he had just bought us a new gas grill. WOW! No more charcoal??? What ever will I do with all the time that I'm not standing over the coals waiting for them to glow and turn to ash? The drill has been charging since I left for work this morning, and with any luck, DH will have it put together by the time I get home. Looking forward to trying out some yummy recipes and not heating up the kitchen this summer. I will be very happy to try any of YOUR favorite recipes. Please feel free to share.

Work has been busy. Had a pile of work on one side of my desk left over from yesterday. I hate leaving work overnight! I have successfully moved it to the other side of my desk today. Job well done! Watching the clock tick away now, waiting for 4:30...

Hugs,
Kristi

Oh yeah! Almost forgot! My consult date was moved up to 7/5. I talked with BCBSNC this morning. They said that my WLS is covered, I have met my criteria, and just need to set the date! Go ME!!!

Kristi,

Your kids sound like my kids!  I'm forever having to bail someone out of a financial jam.  Hang in there, Mom.

And whoo hoo on being approved for WLS!  Won't be long now!  Excited for you!
