Good morning Trish and all to follow
What a beautiful morning!  The sun is shining and it looks like it will be a warm, sunny day.  I have many flowers, both annual and perennial, in bloom and the gardens are really showing their colours.  I planted callas for the first time this year, and boy are they lovely.  I have a very deep purple one, some white ones with edges of a dark pink and a gorgeous pink.  I have two gardens, one in the front and one in the back.  The front is mostly shady and the back sunny, so I can grow a variety of plants.  With all of the rain that we have had, the plants are very robust.

I bought elephant ears (a huge caladium) and will plant them this afternoon.  They are in pots and are already 3 feet high. Both gardens need to be watered and fertilized, so much of the afternoon will be spent out of doors.
I spent yesterday with a special group of women who are raising money and having wells built in Ghana. Out speaker was an American, by way of Canada, who is living in Ghana now. She and her husband felt that they were drawn to Africa and moved there from Grand Rapids Michigan a few years ago. They had two children and they have spent their time teaching and learning from the Ghanaians. Unfortunately, Retina’s husband died unexpectedly last year at a relatively young age (he was in his forties), and her kids are soon going to be off to university, so she is at a crossroad in her life. She said that she can’t imagine coming back to North America after living in a culture that is so different from ours.  The Ghanaians have little compared to us but they work well together with the little they have. It sounds like a wonderful culture. I have been looking for an organization to become involved with that will take me beyond my comfort zone and have me giving back to society. I think that I may have found it with the benefit of seeing Ghana and meeting some of the women on the other side of the world from whom I can learn so much.

I'm off to Sears soon to take back something that I bought on impulse because it was so cheap that I had to have it, but I have found it also to be unnecessary, so back it goes.  Then I will pick up a cappuccino and come home to spend the day with my two G. shepherds, Dingbat one and Dingbat two .  They are very bright, but like most German shepherds, silly as well (and very, very lovable).

Have a glorious day.

Morning all, or should I say afternoon.
Sober 236 days and so proud of me.
Home from Mass, very overcast and thunder already.
Hubby's new psych doctor increased by 1/2 his "intrusive thoughts" medication. He is sleeping better but wow is his negative comment since his feet hit the floor. I will watch everything that comes out of my mouth today. So far not one good comment has been said except to Yoda, so I wish I was a dog. He also got a change in strength of vicodin and this has been positive. He vaccumed, washed floors, cleaned light bulbs, washed toilet, fixed water filter, brushed fans for dust. He was/is happy that he got so much done. and feels OK. I see from his body language he is stiff and in pain today, but he says no.
Rained alot yesterday. Good rain, much thunder.
Glad to read such positive posts this AM. Found posting on Bev's health report, thanks be to God. Hoping Mag sleep well and that CA Sue is finding peace.
Wish me help today. Peace to all.
Hugs, Monica

Good afternoon Trish and everyone....

Trish hope you had a great afternoon....sounds like great fun!

Cindy....thanks for clearing up the mystery of Bev's post. I knew I read it somewhere!!

I am still in a lot of pain today....from my doctor poking around on my lungs and that sore area. Ended up in bed really early last night...drug induced sleep! I am going in to have an X-ray of my lungs taken tomorrow morning. She couldn't do it yesterday because no technician was in the office. Also having fasting labs done. Then it will be waiting for the results....UGH!!

Looks like we found a home for the dog I am so allergic to....hope she likes her new home. It is the kids grandpa (on his farm )t hat is taking her. We can still go visit her when we want.

I feel sad the we have to give her away but my body just can't handle her.

Hope you all are having a really wonderful Sunday!!

Prayer continue for those in need....blessing to you all.

Love and hugs for all....connie d

Good Noon OFF'ers-

Drab and dreary here in Maine this morning although as I type this there is a strange yellowish light so maybe the sun will come out.

I'm knitting a pair of wool clogs that I will felt when completed.  Finished one yesterday, it's huge, looks like one of those clown shoes.  Working on the sole of the second one and should fini**** tonight or tomorrow depending on the weather.  If the sun comes out I may work a little in the yard.

Pedaled on my pedaler again this morning.  Less pain in my back doing that than walking on the road.  Hopefully as I loose weight the back problems will get better.

Congrats Monica on the continued sobriety.  Congrats to all the teachers that now have a summer to vacate.  I admire anyone who is a teacher in this day and age, so many things to have to worry about!

Not much else is new here.  My peonies should be in full bloom in time for the 4th of July.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Challenging night at work last night ... one editor did that to me. Everyone had issues with someone on their team last night. Met the new guy, nice young man. No one introduces the new guys to the old folks.

Already talked to my brother Gary and my mom. Gary said mom had a great deal of trouble driving him home after his colonoscopy. So after breakfast, he drove home. They didn't even knock him out during the procedure ... he had conscious sedation, as I would have during my back injections. He said it was very painful. Anyway, he was very fearful riding with mom, so he decided to drive. Said he felt fine driving, but once he got home, didn't remember doing it. We all worry about Mom driving; Gary has seen it first hand. She went through stop signs, stopped at green lights ... she didn't seem to know what to do. But they keep giving her a license.

Just sent my resume off to another job. Don't feel very hopeful about the newspaper biz.

Well, I need to get into the shower and have lunch. Got to work tonight. Have a good day.

 Good Afternoon,
today is sort of a lazy day for me. I kind of just got up and at it. I have to work at seven and work till11pm. tomorrow is a full day. I have training at 8am and then have to be back at 3.
It has been raining a lot here the past 2 days. My lawn has been needing the rain though.
I got upset at Texaco Jiffy lube the other day. I went in for an oil change and they tried to charge me 79.00 for an oil change. I am glad they didnt start doing it cause I wasnt going to pay that amount for any oil change. it seems that my car requires a new oil that it more money but the manual say either or. but they insist that it require the sythetic one. I said no Ill take it to Honda. It only cost me 34.00 dollars there. yes it does require the synthetic iol and the only charge 6.00 extra. not 60.00.
Carl called the bbb on texaco.
I think Texaco did that because I wa a female!!!!!!
Well on with my day.

I never go to those Jiffy Lube places; they're ripoff artists. They try to take advantage of people, and not just women. They did the same thing with a young man who worked here last summer. Tried to tell him he had to have his engine cleaned and wanted to charge hiim hundred something. Yeah, they tried to do that to my mom too ... she asked my brother before she did anything. It's a common pitch; they want to make extra money if they can. I took mine to Honda down here the last time; I had the place I went to in Michigan for a long time that I trusted. You just have to find a place like that.

Happy Sunday afternoon OFF friends!!  Well, it's been a lazy day and I love it...lol.  Danny, DH has a whole chicken in his new smoker that he got for his birthday and man does it smell good!!  He's got mesquite wood chips in.  My furbabies's noses are twitching...he he.  They have their chicken boiling as we speak...the neck, gizzards, etc...the insides.  So they can enjoy chicken too.

Well, tomorrow is my first time visit with the Endocrinologist(sp) for this RH problem.  I'm nervous and at the same time, looking so forward in getting this problem under control.  Tired of the highs & lows of blood sugars.  Sure does drain a person.

The girls get together sounds like fun.  Been a long time, since I lived in GA, that I've done that.  Best friends, a group of us girls who have been in each others lives since 10 yrs. old, was in each others weddings, raised our kids together, etc., use to have a girls night out often.  When one of us girls went through a divorce, on her "D" day as she called it, we all went to her house, brought take out food, brought a sappy love story to watch and all cried together.  Our tears soon turned to laughter/giggles as the wine bottle got lower & lower....lol.  Such memories, I miss them.

I hope everyone has had a nice relaxing day.

Hello my OFF family!

I know it is late, but I just wanted to post a quick note.  I haven't even had time to read any of today's posts, or yesterday's for that matter.  I will try to write a lovely long description of the birthday party tomorrow morning, but just let me say that it was WONDERFUL fun and went off without a hitch!  I posted pics on FB if you want to look at them.

The only problem I had all weekend was that my ankle fuzzed up on me again.  I broke it about 10 years ago and from time to time it still swells and aches and "cripples" me.  Of course, it decided to act up for Benny's party.  I toughed it out yesterday, but today I'm taking my tramadol and it's making me very woozy.  So I'll wait to write more tomorrow.

I'm going to read all the past 2 days posts now so I can catch up on my "family"!  Love, hugs, and prayers to all!
