XP - NSV's at 2 years out....and it makes me wonder
That is one thing that is scaring me about my surgery. I love being invisible. Now, I am not invisible in my professional life. I feel perfectly fine being visible as a nurse and an administrator. I even feel fine while performing as a musician in front of an audience, but in the day to day interactions with strangers outside my roles, I much prefer to be invisible. That is something I am going to have to work on.
Visibility is an adjustment. And although thre are posts about it every so often in various forums, it felt different to me when I experienced it and was wrapping my brain around those experiences.
Visibiliity can be fun. People smile more. They look you in the eye. Strangers strike up conversation in the grocery store ("Don't buy those onions - they are really strong!") Salespeople want to help you and don't avoid you.
It's just....different.
