OT: Consultation Date Changed

After jumping through all the various hoops, I finally got my appt with my surgeon for Jluy 19th. Had hoped for earlier, but he had to have some type of surgery himself. Well, on my way home from work Weds, I got a call that my doc would be back sooner and had an opening for July 5th. Of course I snapped up that opportunity.

I should be more excited, but the recent events at my house have taken the wind out of my sails. One great thing is my oldest daughter & family will be visiting from Germany in July and might be here when I have my wls. Can't wait to see them. Can't wait for this surgery...

July 5th!! WOW!!! That is right around the corner!!! CONGRATS!!!! Hope you start getting excited soon or we will have to come get you!!! LOL Come on Kristi!!! You got to be happy that your new life is gonna happen faster than expected!! Its a wild ride!!!!! I promise!!!!! :-) I read about your problems and I am so sorry about the happenings...but I would have done the same thing if it were me!!!! Hope you get your things soon!!! And shame on them for doing this to you!!!!

Great ... I had to do mine kind of quickly, too, but then I had waited a whole year to get on the schedule because the insurance people lost my paperwork for awhile (long story). So I took the first date I could get. Good for you.

My seven-year surgiversary is next Wednesday ... can't believe it's been 7 years.

Hi Kristi,
Just because your consultation date is moved up doesn't mean you have to schedule surgery earlier too. My surgery was on August 28th. They originally wanted to schedule me for a different days. They wanted to schedule me two weeks earlier, but we were away on a vacation, celebrating Mom's 80th birthday. We scheduled it for two weeks later. No problem.

I'm actually hoping to schedule my surgery for the end of July or 1st week of Aug. I talked it over with my boss, yes I believe he has the right to give input...and support...and he said that for my re-coop time the 1st 2 weeks of Aug will be best for me to take time off. We are a seasonal company, being a beach house rental company. Historically, we quiet down the early part of Aug and then get hit again around Labor Day. He would like me back riding my desk by then. After Labor Day, we get hit with homeowners coming in and complaining about how much wear the guests caused on their properties all summer...ahhh, job security! Then in the Fall and Winter, I do property assessments and let owners know what we would suggest they improve for the following year. Sometimes I'm at my desk, other times I'm out inspecting houses and condos.

By the way, my super tiny, no-butt havin' eat-anything-he-wants-and-never-gain-weight boss is EXTREMELY supportive of my decision to have wls. Everybody should have a boss like Rick. I called him last night to tell him I need today off to go move my stuff out of the kids storage unit and he offered to take the day off and come help me. Offered his truck and his 11 yr old son for extra help. Truly one of the good guys, but I already had that all covered.

My BIL is headed over in about an hour to help with me this morning so I better get moving.
