Morning Lynn and OFF family!!!!

Had some rain last night along with some thunder and lightning...more today?? Possible.  Its cooler today so far and they say a cold front is moving in for tomorrow.

Got all my laundry done except for the towels. Ran out of quarters for the machines...grrrrrr and ofcourse there isn't a change machine anywhere here. Nor did the office have any quarters to buy. Soooo need to go to the bank today and get a roll of quarters and finish the laundry. I also need to go to $ tree for a few things we are out of.

Would like to find the ones that are lighting off the BIG fireworks around here late at night!!! OMG you about jump out of your skin when it goes off!!! We are thinking its the trouble makers doing it. Rick said the cops were in here again about 1:30 this morning. Not sure where they went but he said they were moving fast in here....so many people fighting in here lately. Used to be a nice place to live and now the town is in the paper everyday with some kind of trouble and it makes me feel like I am back in Saginaw Michigan again!!! Well almost. Still love it here because it IS quiet and I am not afraid to go out at night.

Talked to my sister yesterday and she is going to be having some tests done soon and hopefully they can find what is wrong with her. Prayers accepted for her if you would like to add her in your prayers and thoughts. Thankyou ever so much!!!!

Need to call my mom today and see how she is doing. I think it was yesterday that she had a dr appointment and I also need to find out how that went.

Thats about it for me today. Nothing exciting to add. So on that I will get out of here....thoughts and prayers going out to those that need them!!!

Good Morning All.

Started a UTI on Saturday morning and still fighting it.  Other than that feel great.

Going today for my one month check up.  Anxious to hear how I am doing.

Nothing exciting going on today - work, doctor, walk and sip-sip-sip.

At least today is my Friday.  Taking a vaction day tomorrow to go to the outlets in PA.

I used to have UTI's a lot, until my sister-in-law got me started taking cranberry capsules.....I take 2 a day and have had no problems.  They are over the counter in the vitamin section at Wal Mart, and drug stores too.

Good luck!

Cranberry has alway been touted as a good preventor of UTI's.  But be aware....if you take coumidin or a generic coumidin you cannot have cranberry anything.  I don't know about other blood thinners but my doc strictly forbids cranberry.

Good Morning Everyone,

The past couple of days have been busier than usual. Tuesday we went on a 5 hour tour of the Hanford Nuclear Site about 40 miles upriver (the Columbia River) from us. This was where people in two little riverside towns were given less than 30 days, property was condemned and land was taken over in a  very secretive way. Within 14 months from start to finish the bomb that ended WWII was constructed.

An arid landscape occupied by native people and homesteaders has over the past 70 years become a toxic, radioactive wasteland. No current production of anything but massive cleanup operations have been going on the past 10 years. The goal is to clear out all liquid wastes, remove contaminated lower level wastes, and return the landscape to as close to what it was as possible. Nothing can do THAT but they are making great progress and removing what is lower level waste to a much higher elevation for reburial in much more confining burial grounds. Some of the earlier waste was so close to the river that it was in danger of reaching the ground water and migrating to the Columbia River which flows downstream within 3 miles of my home.

Very interesting tour but also very sad. My dad worked out in that area for most of his working life. Made good money but also contracted Mesothelioma, a lung cancer caused in large part by asbestose (SP???) exposure. The tour took 5 hours and took as to areas where an escort and security badge were necessary. These tours are just offered once a year. I registered in the middle of the night in order to get a spot. I can't help but be saddened by what "progress" often does to the native life and vegetation. What for thousands of years was much the same can become almost unlivable due to so called progress. . .

On to a brighter note. Yesterday we loaded up the truck and tent trailer. We're at our daughter's home for the next 5 days. Our son in law is in Yakima coaching a state football game so we're helping out. I set up  my trailer and had a "camp" ready when the girls got home from daycare. I had found cute little "tiger" lawnchairs on the cheap. Had those all set up outside with a juice in the drink holder and a snack on the seat.  We talked about our trip to the ocean in August and all got so excited. They explored the trailer opening everything and testing out the beds.

After daycare we'll take them to the park to play if the weather permits. Plan to paint a mirror for their room "watermelon" pink. Mike will work on some outbuildings and I'll help with a few things around here.

Tried flowergirl dresses on the 3 girls. Still need to finish the alterations and get the dresses steamed in a week's time. Wedding is only 10 days away!!!!

Decided that I will wear the thrift store shoes that are comfy (don't need to broadcast the fact that they cost $5.00!). Great comment from a friend made me feel more more comfortable about the shoes:  "By the time they get to your feet they've already formed an opinion!" So true! My dress is beautiful AND comfortable and my feet won't hurt as I dance the night away.

I hear little feet stirring upstairs so I better get off of here. Have a great day everyone!

Karen,

It really doesn't matter how much you paid for the shoes. Your smile will glow, the dress is beautiful, and your feet won't hurt. That's priceless.

Kisses

Karen, I would like the shoes just that much more, knowing that I got the right thing at a bargain price! No one has to know - we won't tell~!

Morning all.
Sober 233 and so proud of me. Continuing saga with SS. So I went Congressional. Called local Coongress in MA and spoke with advocate at home MA office. She has never heard about a problem like mine, but will reach out to SS contact to see what can be done. Putting this on hold until I hear from her and will wait for SS check to come in mail...check will be another validation of I am who I am.
Grateful I make the call to WH, Congress, and Senate each day with my list of "what I want for America". Delta being brought to task @ baggess costs to soldiers, soldiers housing foreclouse issues, more jobs for veterans, NLRB in SC, and sending $$$ to Pakistan, among other things.
Ultrasound picture of expected Gdaughter shows such a beautiful profile. Gkids got to hold probe and find heartbeat. Excitment explodes at their house. Missing them alot.
Good first visit with new PCP. Really high BP...179/102. I will go for BP checks over the weekend at stores and record. Will have fasting BW next week. We are busy with DR app and it is draining. It is end of month so $$$ and hubby grouchy...waiting for his meds to arrive. Walking on egg shells and watching what I say....life as usual.
We had about 1/2 hr of rain, so needed.
Welcome to all the newbies..hope all the drama and stress for us each declines. Remember to be good to you!!
