It's Thursday! Dangerously Close to the end of the week!

Hello everyone! I was up early (4:45).

I've dont my workout for the day.  I am doing the Jillian MIchaels 30 day shred  plus some added walking/cardio. It's an interesting workout because it's only 20 minutes....but you FEEL it, believe me. I needed to change up the routine a bit.

And good news - the scale has finally moved in the rright direction - I am down 3 of the dreaded 5 lbs. that I gained last winter. Maybe it's the Solstice - who knows!

Today is work, grocery shopping, and making an appt. for a hair trim. I also need to get the car in down here someplace for an alignment so need to check on that - I know where the dealership is, so will probably go there, but may ask around a bit before making a final decision.

Take care everyone and enjoy what the day brings to you! And if you can't "enjoy" it - hey, roll with it!

Good morning Lynn and OFF family to post later.
Happy Thursday! Lynn, what is Solstice? And good for you taking off those 5 pounds before more added on.

It's raining here and I hope it stops so I can go outside for walk.
I'm busy doing several projects and time has gone by fast all week long, I love that! Finally look at the time and it's almost time to go home...happened all week long!

When I got home yesterday our granddaughter Rozzie called her grandpa. She was doing an overnight at her BFF house...a total of 5 girls and her BFF lives in a trailer/mobile home. Really wonderful little girl who just shines happiness. Well the girls decided to "camp out" so Grandpa goes over there with our big tent and some sleeping bags. Set up the tent for them and they were just giggling and having fun. I tell you when your around young people your see the world much happier and brighter. I had a 6 pack of Hershey chocolate bars and told Grandpa to take that over to the kids too. I had them downstairs in the basement fridge so I wouldn't have to look at them and psst....they are gone, no longer "calling to me"! LOL Score 1 or me!!
Then my hubby asked Roz what she was going to do with the extra candy bar, she replied "take it home for later" and grandpa said "no, give it to the dad". She was disappointed but had a lesson in sharing with others.

Everyone have a great day. Be kind to yourselves! Hugs Debbie
P.S. Extra big hug to Connie!!

Debbie, the solstice occurs on the first day of summer - the earth's position is just right for us to have the longest day of the year (well, most daylight anyway!) You get much more of the effect in the north with sunset coming at - what? - 9:30 or so?

The winter solstice falls on the first full day of winter, Dec. 21 or 22 depending on the specifics of it all!

I always feel energized at this time of year. Love the long days. Perhaps it's a remnant of my many years working in schools, too, when this time of year signalled the end of a school year.

Oh yeah...I love sunshine and long summer days! Teachers were always happier at the end of school year. My teachers were just excited to have summer off as us kids. Except the teachers that taught summer school or got jobs at Sears. Seems like a lot of my high school teachers worked in the summer at Sears of all places.
Teachers are special!! They impact our lives forever and when you got a really good one, you remember them always.

Most people don't know that teachers often work a 2nd job. Literally every man I knew in my teaching career had a 2nd job either during the school year or over the summer. They coached, taught drivers ed or summer school, tutored, did roofing, painted lines on parking lots, worked construction, waited tables....you name it.

I didn't know teachers had 2nd jobs until I was in high school...actually learning the value of a dollar. I started working in the hospital when I was 16...ended up being a "lifer".
My ex BF was a school teacher and always taught summer school.
My step daughter is a high school teacher and for the first time isn't teaching summer school.
Gotta love teachers!! I'm a big fan of teachers...I wouldn't have the patience to teach kids.
Now I did love helping my granddaughter Rozzie with her homework when she lived with us for 2 years.

Yeah, my sister's a PE teacher at an all-girls Catholic school, and she either would clean the school in the summer, or for awhile, she worked at my ex-SIL's store. Not sure what she does now.

I wouldn't have the patience to teach, either. A couple of people said I should get a teaching certificate and teach journalism ... naw, I would be too mouthy.

LOL...I had a girlfriend who use to work in the hospital, she was a very factual type person, she went back to school and teaches history. That was a good fit for her...right to the facts!

Good Morning Lynn,
Congrats on losing some of that regain.  That is awesome.  I am struggling with 30 of the 40 I regained during my relapse.  Not having good health limits the exercise.  I plan to hit the pool this afternoon.

Today, I am at work, till 12:30, using a computer in the break room, because the charger/power cord on my laptop is shot.  Argh.  I need to order a new one.

I also need to get an appointment with my PCP, because I had a blister on my thigh that broke, and now it is infected.  I have been putting neosporin on it and a bandaid, but it is an ugly red.

Hope everyone stays cool.

Hugs,
Trish
