What's Up on Tuesday?

Hi Trish and Bev and those to come,

I fell asleep during Antiques Roadshow at 8pm so now at a bit past 11pm I'm wide awake. Jus****ched the first part of a Mary and Abe Lincoln show on the History Channel.

I need to get some sleep as we are taking a 5 hour tour tomorrow of the Nuclear Reservation where my dad worked for many years. There are two old townsites: Hanford and White Bluffs. When the area including those townsites was taken over by the government in the early 1940s in order to build the nuclear bomb no one was told anything. Only that they had to leave.

They were given a nominal payment and given a deadline to leave their homes along the Columbia River. People had homesteaded and worked hard to farm raising all kinds of fruit in orchards close to the river. It's interesting to read about. Google: Hanford, Washington or White Bluffs, Washington.

Anyway it will be interesting to visit places where my dad spent most of his adult work life. Still very  restricted. No cameras, opentoed shoes, cell phones, We can take something to drink and a lunch.

Then Wednesday morning we'll head to our daughter's for 5 days. Our son in law is a high school football coach. He has been selected to coach th "West" team in the East/West game. He'll be out of twn all week. Mike has some more painting of outbuildings. We're taking our tent trailer over and leaving it for the summer.

I plan to take our daughter and the 3 grands to the ocean for 3 days in early August.

We're also taking them an extra table and chairs that we have downstairs for them to use until they can afford to get what they want.

Trish, I am sorry that you are in pain. I'm sorry that your plans didn't work out.

Bev, It is so good to hear from you Sending positive thoughts your way.

I'd best try to get some sleep. Take care,

Karen C

Good morning friends!!

Home from our early morning route and wow what a beautiful sunrise over the ocean.  I told Danny, my DH that those that believe there's no God hasn't seen a sunrise and/or sunset.  Only God could create something so beautiful!!

Sitting here with morning coffee and then after breakfast is shower and off to my yearly pap...ugh!!  Only thing is I have an awesome Dr. who does my yearly exams and he & my DH have a good time chatting & laughing, which DH says it's to keep my mind off of things...yeah right..lol.  Anyway, after that, we're going to Home Depot to buy my DH's delayed birthday present.  He's been searching online for a smoker and has finally found one @ Home Depot so today's the day!!  Can't wait til he puts a good roast in it or anything for that matter.  We're gonna try pecan wood chips first I think and see how we like that.

Trish, I'm so sorry your plans didn't work out for you but once you get in the presence of those little ones, those thoughts will go away and you'll be basking in all that wonderful love.  Enjoy your day with the children & your daughter!!

Bev, it's SO good to hear from  you.  Sounds like  you've been busy with family and there's nothing anymore special than that, in my book.  Saying prayers for you to have a good report when you go to the Dr.  Please keep us posted!!

Well, let me go put some oatmeal on to cook then jump in the shower.  Everyone have a wonderful day!!

If you have a military ID card use it at Home Depot or Lowes, they give you a discount. Enjoy your shop. God validates our entire being and sprinkles in things like sun rises and sun sets for joyous celebrations each day. Realizing these "sprinkles" on the cupcakes of our lives is a gift of observations too often go unknown.

Oh, yes, I forgot!  I meant to tell you in my note below to try some mesquite chips if you can find them.  Best smoked flavor in the world!  Got hubby a smoker several years ago and he loves it.  So do I!  Also, if your meat is a little dry or lean, try wrapping a couple of pieces of raw bacon around it before you smoke it.  Yummm.

Good morning Trish and OFF family to post later. Happy Tuesday!
Hugs to you Trish chronic pain is nothing to sneeze at and I've been dealing with pain since last July. I'm pushing through it and hanging tough. No pain meds, just trying to rise above my adhesion's that have formed once again. Ugh!...but I won't let it get me down, just have to adjust to my lifestyle.

So the volunteer event at the Air Zoo was fun, my volunteers had a blast. I was stuck at the table all night, welcoming and handing out nametags and just making our volunteers feel special. I didn't get to go on any of the rides or see the 3-D movies but that's okay, one day I'll take the grandkids to the Air Zoo with hubby.

It's foggy/dreary here and rain is suppose to come. I'll be catching up today on stuff so the day will fly by. I'm tired today, a 12 hour shift for me is gross!!! LOL
The nice thing is my office is air conditioned and I have to wear a sweater.

Hugs and prayers for all in need. For us people who are struggling with getting our re-gain off we can do this in time. For now just love yourself and just keep on the good side of the track.
If you make one wrong food choice (or more) just start over, the day hasn't been blown. Let's not be "all or nothing gals", let's just learn and move on. No looking back, just forward.
For our beautiful ladies who are staying sober and going to AA....Whhhhoooooooooooo!!

For our beautiful ladies who are stressed about family, let's just comfort them as needed but let them also learn from their mistakes.
We need to not feel guilty about putting our needs first. We have to take care of ourselves so we can take care of others/family. So yep, we do have to come first more in our lives and we aren't use to putting ourselves first. We are use to taking care of others. Throw that guilt feeling out the window today. Hugs Debbie

Morning Trish, Bev, Karen, Debbie and those to come. . .

Trish sorry that you are suffering from so much chronic stuff and that it is interferring in what you want to do.  As for the plans, well as the weather turned out, it is better that she and the kids went yesterday and perhaps she had looked at the forecast and thought that is what she should have done, but I can certainly understand both your feelings and the frustration, get thee to a meeting, page 449-420 in the BB (4th edition). . .

Bev, prayers for shrinkage of the cancer and better results with the new chemo. . .

Karen sounds like quite an adventure you have planned and enjoy the grandbabies . . .

Got myself to the gym the morning and am feeling good about it, did a 5k in 40 minutes on the elliptical, then did upper body weight training, now at work, where I will find things to fill my time, as things have been slow lately, hoping new business comes our way soon, after work, home dinner, hang with the Roxie girl, then to an AA 12 Step study with a group of women at a friend of mine's house, then home to bed, work week is usually not too exciting. . .

Wishing you all a good day, peace and strength to those facing life challenges.

Laureen

Good morning Trish and all,
Trish: praying for some relief for you from your pain and that you can enjoy your family. Meetings are always good.
Bev:   Praying for cancer getting smaller and finding the correct chemo for your treatment.
I'm simply blah today. Bela cat got me up at 5AM. Hope to go back to bed but he wants a lot of attention. Nothing new here. Slight struggle with food. I want sweets bad. Bought some ice cream but it tasted terrible and I tossed it. Life will never be the same. Thank God for that.
      I did hit a milestone yesterday. I weighed in at 249.4. I can't believe I'm under 250. It's a good feeling
Kitty here to help me type again. Talk soon,   Mag
