Glad you had fun at your reunion.  Also glad you are going to start a walking program.  That will help you tremendously post-op, as they will have you walking shortly after you get back from post-op.  They had me walking every four hours in the hospital, even in the middle of the night.  Breathing exercises also.  I was already doing deep breathing exercises as a part of a relaxation exercise I do.  You can prep for that by spending a couple of minutes several times a day taking a deep breath in slowly through your nose, and then blowing out slowly through your mouth, like you are blowing out a candle.  Doing that for a few minutes regularly will help, because the respiratory therapist will have you doing exercises to prevent pneumonia post-op.

For your walking program, make sure you have good walking shoes, and wear loose clothing.  Build up your distance a little each day you walk.  Also, build up your speed.  One way to keep track of your progress is to get a pedometer.  I have done that, and found it very motivating to help me build my distance while waking.

Sorry to babble, just sharing what helped me.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Everybody, it has been crazy here. It has hailed and rained every day for the last 3 days. Enough already! My garage sale turned out pretty good. I didn't get rid of everything but I sold most of it. My DH and I went out to supper saturday for fathers day. We took a  drive to Lake Minatare which is about 5 miles from Scottsbluff. It is very high as well as the North Platte River. Our zoo and other businesses near the river had to evacuate. Nothing exciting going on this week. Have a great week everyone!  Mona

Eileen....sounds like your night was really boring....maybe it will be busier tonight. i have been having sleep issues to. Only and 3 hours of sleep again last night...UGH

Just laundry to do today....nothing too exciting. It has been drizzling/raining  this morning. If it clears up I hope to take Grace to the pool this afternoon.

I need to get a card sent out to my BFF Pam  just to remind her how special she is to me. I also have friends that got married in New Jersey this last weekend and need to get a card to them as well.

Hope you all have a terrific day. Prayers as always for those in need.

Connie, you sound more like YOU again today!  Hope you are feeling better and that horrible old depression is going away!  By all means, take Grace to the pool if you can and enjoy that special time with her.  Sunshine always makes me feel better.

Hi Vickie.....thank for the encouragement.

No, I never went to the pool....in too much lung pain. My daughter just got home and she took Grace. Plus I was lucky if I got 3 hours of sleep last night. Depression....no it really isn't any better. I just force myself more on some days then others.

Hugs....connie d

Good Afternoon Carla,
I worked a half-day this morning, training for my Social Work job at the psych hospital.  There is a lot of paperwork to do, and at times, I get scared and wonder if I can do it.  But, then I remind myself that I earned the degree, I can certainly do this job.  Grad school was grueling, and I managed to complete it in three years, while working full time.  I can certainly learn the paperwork and responsibilities of my new job.

I am going to call my daughter to find out what my grandkids are up to, and see if they went to the shore.  I was going to go, but just did not feel up to that long drive after working part time today.

Have a good day.

Hugs,
Trish

Hello Carla and all of OFF,
I've been wasting time on face book playing a game called Puzzled Hearts. It's addicting,  Monica, I played the slot game for a few last night, too.
I've gone from no sleep to wanting to sleep all the time. I'm sure I will find the middle of the road. At least I have not crashed and burned as usual.
Take care.   Love and hugs to all,   Mag
