Combatting Regain. . .
Happy Monday Everyone!
Hope you all had a good weekend, I am thrilled and excited that this morning I stepped on the scale and saw a weight of 179, which is a 2 lbs. loss and that helps keep me motivated on mornings when that alarm goes off at 4:55 a.m. and I have to roll out of bed into my gym clothes and head to the gym, which I am doing 4x a week. Now mind you the scale is not the only motivating factor here, health and vigor is what I am seeking as well and while at that ungodly hour is does not feel very envigorating, when I get out of the shower after my workout, I feel glad that I did what I did, another side benefit is the fact that I am reaching for foods I know that are good for me and I also find, does anyone else find this to be the case, that I am full quicker than before, sort of like the first six months? Not complaining, just wondering. . .
Well that's my story, what are you doing to combat regain today?

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Good for you Laureen working out.
I'll be too busy today due to our volunteer recognition event so I will miss the gym.
I'll be at work/event for 12 hours today if not more so I will be exhausted and miss my pool workout. Now this isn't any excuse, just the truth.
To combat my regain today, I have a plan so I don't eat treats at our event....
I'm going to drink an EAS shake before I go out there. I will have an apple in my car and I will eat that on the way to the Air Zoo.
I'm planning on NOT eating any sweets and stick to the fresh veggies/dip.
Now...if I was really good, I'd get on my gazelle after I get home and then work on my weights.

Tuesday combat mission, exercise portion complete
I feel so much better today in that I was able to get myself to the gym, where I did a 5k in 40 minutes on the elliptical and than worked my upper body. When I was done, lots of sweat equity and maybe even endorphins, cause I did feel good about my workout and stick to itiveness. . . tomorrow is a day off from the gym, I will give my body rest, as I keep reading that rest time as well as sleep helps the body recover from working out and is necessary, just can't get too caught up in the rest cycle (lol). . .
Making fairly good food choices, taking vitamins and doing my best to get in a minimum of 64 oz of fluid before 6 p.m., so I can stop waking up to go to the bathroom so many times during the night, averaging 3x a night, not a good thing for my sleep. . .
Anyway, that's it. . .

I enjoy these posts from you. I am a day late reading on OFF but I look for your posts.
I just wanted to tell you that yes, I too am feeling full quicker. I think it is very motivating to realalize that this tool of ours will still work after we have abused it. I also drink at least 2-3 quarts of water or decaf tea during the day. I am taking advantage of this summer season and only buying from the produce dept. and the meat department. I am buying fresh seafood when I can. Using my george foreman grill for my proteins and steaming or lightly boiling my veggies. I have managed to loose a lot of my regain and hope by August to loose it all. If I do that will mean that it took me one year to get it off. Of course I yo-yoed too much. I should have been able to do this in 6 months or less. But I am doing it now. I know I will always struggle to keep it off but I hope being able to shop in my closet again will be motivating enough to keep me focused and on track.
