Take Action! We can do this!
Wow Trish, now that is a success story. You planned ahead and was prepared. Way to go for not reaching for that donut. See if we have a plan a head of time that's the key.
Learning to tell yourself no I really don't need or want the donut is a learned behavior.
We can teach ourselves new tricks and not to sabotage ourselves.
Also another one to learn is not to beat ourselves up. No failures here in my book, just a learning process and to wipe the slate clean and start again.
I do like a lot of AA's concepts, most of them I can use/substitute alcohol for food..."insert eating here" instead of alcohol...I'm not much of a drinker, would rather have a hot fudge sundae than booze. Okay I'm strange I know it and I do know food was my drug of choice.
When I go to events here where I work and I know there will be donuts and other cookies/cakes...you get my drift...I will bring my apple or a can of V-8 juice.
when I go to fellowship at church, I put an apple in my purse and stay away from home-made cookies...you all know me...cookies...I love cookies!! LOL
