What's new with you this Monday?

Eileen, which knee was replaced. Sure sounds like what mine did before replacement. I thought I had bad ankles. Turns out it was the knees that were shot. Hope  you get some meds that help.

It was the right knee, and it's the right leg that's giving out. But a pinched nerve can also result in the leg giving way.

My leg gives out frequently due to sciatica.  I've got a collection of knee braces that I accumulated until we figured out it was my back.  I too carry canes in several vehicles.  Chiropracter has been keeping me mobile lately but my leg still gives out once in a while.  Gimpy sucks!

Yeah, I figured it was sciatica too ... I talked with my friend Mary Kay, who has the same issues ... she told me what to do, which is basically what I was doing (except for the muscle relaxants, which I have now). I am going to the chiro tomorrow ... would have gone today but after the doc and the drug store, I was too pooped ... it was 99 degrees and humid, and I just couldn't take it anymore. I have to get a mammo tomorrow, so I'll do it after that.

I keep my freezer full of ice packs and I have two home made heat packs (wash clothes stuffed with kidney beans) to throw in the microwave.  Also have a TENs unit that I use but chiro keeps it in line the best.  Hang in there, it'll get better with some time and rest.  At least you didn't fall and hurt yourself worse.

Yeah, I could've fallen ... it was the one day in I don't know how many that the handicapped spot wasn't available at Starbucks and I had to walk a little bit farther (not that far). I was about halfway to the car when the leg buckled. I stopped and started to shuffle slowly to get to the car. I just knew it was something in my back.

Between my head and my back, I'm a mess. But I've got some good drugs now.

Cindi, you sound like me ... do you have fibro too?  Even after losing the weight, I'm still in pain half the time.

No official diagnosis of fibro.  At present I'm fighting acute tendonitis in my wrist plus the sciatica.  The sciatica is one of the reasons for my having the WLS.

Afternoon OFF family...well work today wasn't as bad as yesterday was...lol found out the chest freezer wasn't broke after all!!! The breaker was off...found that after they changed the freezers around and I saw that the light for the temp. didn't work. SO I called the manager right away and he came and checked the breakers...yuppers that was it!!! DUH...never thought to check them yesterday!!! Well everything else was working so didn't think about the breaker. Oh well...got a different freezer and I am happy. Just upset that they tossed the other one in the trash before we figured it out that it wasn't broken!!! They said they weren't going in after it either....Man!! We were told to kjeep an eye on it to make sure the breaker doesn't trip again and if it does to let them know ASAP. Hopefully it will still be on when I go in in the morning!!!

Weather here is still chilly in my book....sun is out and breezy...69* is all it is...BRRRRR lol

Just deleted my last post. After reading it, it seemed so negative. I don't want to be that way.

Was hoping to see a post from Cindy on the Outer Banks. Thinking about her DH's dr appt about the dark spot they found. Still praying.

Another glorious day of sobriety for Monica! We are all here to share in that joy with you  Hoping things are going well for you & DH with your new PCP appts.

Finally getting a little rain here, very little. But I'd rather have a soft gentle rain at this time than a heavy downpour. It's so dry, everything would just wash away. Need a soaker.

Faxed my 5 yr weight history to the surgeon's office. They couldn't read it because it was on a prescription paper. When it faxed, the watermark was so dark, it blanked out everything else. I called my PCP to see about getting them to fax it over. They said it might be a week or so because it's not a priority. Dummy me, I was next door to my surgeon's office last Weds for my endoscopy. I should have just taken it over while I was there So, I'm going to mail it this afternoon. It will take less time to get there than waiting for my PCP.

Having a little personal stress right now and don't need this with pending surgery.
