What's new with you this Monday?
We had tornado warnings both Sat and Sun, but were protected and only had thunderstorms here. THe thunder was amazing - a low rumble that went on continuously for about 30 minutes, like a low flying plane that never went away. I have never heard anything like it.
I recorded several shows on OWN about weight loss issues - including one with Bob Greene about a couple that was 5-7 years out from WLS and both had regained about 50 lbs. A cautionary tale for sure! I am approaching my 2nd surgiversary with a little apprehension, hearing so often that the upcoming year is where things get very difficult. I feel great and am "primed" (I hope) to continue with good amounts of exercise and support online and in person to hold on where I am.
It's a busy week at work as well, so I may not post much in the next few days.
Then Sat. we head to FL for a Father's day weekend celebration with Mike's son and family. MIke is staying a few days past the weekend, then I will stay a few weeks after that.
Wishing you all good energy for what lies ahead in the day!
Today more work outside. I love to garden. Everything is growing great. Can't wait to start canning. Looks like we will be getting lots of raspberries & Cherries too. I should be done about the time my son gets home from Afghanistan.
Have a wonderful day all!! Nan
Rain and thunderstorms last night. Rain gauge says two inches. It never got out of the 50's yesterday, I actually turned the heat back on to take the chill off.
I'm a little calmer today about the surgeon appointment tomorrow. What will be will be. I don't have a scale at home that works and judging by all the stress I've seen on the VSG forum due to stalls I'm not sure I'm going to replace it. We'll see. So I don't know what I weigh at this point. I kept myself from stress/comfort eating yesterday so I guess the winter of working with an eating counselor paid off.
Today will be spent packing for my trip to Ohio. Also have to clean up the mess I made in the house yesterday. I have a friend in Texas who makes bird feeders out of glass bowls. I volunteered to buy bowls for her here in Maine and ship them to her in Texas. I spent yesterday shredding paper in the shredder to pack around the bowls. So now I have shredded paper all over the living room floor but 7 bowls are ready to be shipped to Texas. At some point I will have to brave the rain to go to town for the mail and to water the window boxes that are under the eaves.
Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm back finally. Already I am slipping into the "flit here, flit there mode." I think I get more done when I am working outside of the home. When I have all day I start lots of projects but get distracted and don't get anything completed.
The house is put back together except for dusting. I made a dinner dish to put in the oven for dinner. Washed a load of towels, took out the garbage, watered the plants.
What I WANT to do is start making my "book beads" bookmarks. I bought a sample to help me remember how to make them. They are basically a double strand of hemp thread with cute beads threaded on each end. You lay them between the pages of the book you're reading. I saved some of my mom's odds and ends of costume jewelry and clip on earrings. I'm going to make a "bookbead" bookmark for each of her grand daughters, daughters in laws and nieces. Should be fun if I ever get caught up enough to do it.
At JoAnn's Fabrics I bought a small magnifying light table that I can work with my hands under to thread the beads. We'll see how it works. I was looking for something that wlll help me to put the thread in the hole the first time not the tenth!
Promised myself that this would be a quick stop. I want to go to the gym before Mike gets home this afternoon. Lots to get done before then.
You all have a great day and I'll stop back later.

I'm up and moving at a good time today. It's going to be a very busy week, but I guess that's a good thing. Ellen is feeling some better today. She had a protein shake and tolerated it well after a weekend of tea and toast. The headache is still with her but less intense. Temp down to 99 degrees.
Vickie, Glad hubby is home. Sorry about you garden getting burned by the sun.
I am trying to connect with OFFers on facebook. So when you see Marguerite Pinkerton, it's me. To others that I haven't sent a friend request, I'm not sure of your facebook name. If you would please send me a personal message with your facebook name, I would love to add you to my friends list. Or you can seen me a friend request.
Time for breakfast. Talk more soon. As ever, Mag
I have not had a good night ... it all started yesterday afternoon when I left Starbucks with my iced coffee ... my right leg gave out on me and I almost fell. I shuffled to my car in a lot of pain and made it work, got my cane out ****ep one in my car) and went in to the office. Sitting at my desk was very painful. I managed to do it for four hours, but it sure wasn't fun. I did my two pages and proofed some pages, then went home early.
It was feeling OK last night for awhile but when I got up this morning, I could feel the leg give out again. So I've already called in sick. I'm going to the doctor this afternoon to see if I can get some flexeril. I've got an ice pack on it already.
Well, that's what's going on with me. Gimpy old woman. Have a good one.
