What's new with you this Monday?
Good morning Karen and OFF family to post later.
Whhhooooooo Karen...schools out!
Had a busy weekend, I mowed our 8 acres and even raked up some of the grass clippings so I wouldn't track in my car our house in one area. The darn doggies were rolling in my grass piles. Too funny!
Hubby is back from Kentucky he was totally surprised I mowed all of the lawn.
I didn't post on Friday cuz we were so busy with our Fine Jewelry Sale as a fund-raiser for our Volunteer Services. I had a blast helping out and talking to all the employees that came in. I told them to just try on the jewelry it's free to try on and dream. I don't push sales, just have fun with them. Dreaming is good!
This weekend I also...finally...get this one...Free'd myself of clothes that are to small for me. I got rid of my size 4, 6, 8's. If I every get back down to clothes in the single digits I will go buy more at the Thrift Shops. Until them I'm freeing myself of looking at those damn clothes that beat me down. I will rejoice in the size that I am and be comfortable. Besides all those clothes were form fitting with no stretch. After having emergency surgery for adhesion's that caused a bowel obstruction...those clothes no longer will be comfortable for me. I'm going for comfort now!!
Hugs and prayers for all those in need. Let's look forward and not backwards. Let's just keep on keeping on and giving thanks for our health. Hugs Debbie

Good morning Karen and everyone,
Wow, Debbie Jean, I needed to hear your words of wisdom today! Keep looking forward--that's exactly what I need to do this morning. I get on the scale after being gone for almost 2 weeks, and not only haven't I lost any more pounds, I gained one back! Aaauuuggghhh! WTF? I must be in a stall, because I swear I've been managing my food carefully. It's a little discouraging.
But, other than that, things are just great today. My hubby got into the airport just fine and I got to Houston just fine. It was good timing. I only had to circle once at the airport while he was getting through customs. He told me I looked great in my sundress! That was nice.
We stopped to eat on the way home, which was difficult because we had the puppies with us and it was in the 100's yesterday. But we parked off the parking lot under some trees and they did okay while we were inside. It was a long day for them. 3+ hours from the lake to the Houston airport, and then another 2+ hours home. They were real little troopers.
Get home and oh, my poor flower beds! I immediately started to water them. It's just too darn hot here for June. We never used to get this kind of heat in June. July and August, yes, but not in June. What was left of the garden was all burnt up, too. But not the weeds! Oh, no, they're growing with abandon! DJ, we'll have to start mowing our 10 acres today and tomorrow, too.
So, DH is at his first doctor's appt. already this morning. He has 2 today, and then another one on Wednesday. If all goes as planned, we're planning to go back to the lakehouse on Thursday, and then we'll stay there for the rest of the month. We will tackle our big remodel job on the guest bath. That should be fun. Ha! He likes to be the "boss" of me when we do any type of construction or remodeling. He's the boss and I'm the crew. Always an interesting dynamic!
Got to call the vet and see if I can take little Patty Kate in today. She's itching like crazy again. Kept me up the past several nights with it. I'm using both K-9 Advantix and Sentinel monthly, so she doesn't have fleas. I've changed to Innova pet food, plus I'm supplementing with my own homemade food, so I don't think it's a food allergy, but I could be wrong. Whatever it is, it's making her miserable, and me along with it. Hopefully he can give her another shot to calm it down, and help me identify the source.
Well, much to do today. I'd better hop in the shower and get going. Hope everyone can stay cool today.
Love you all!

Thanks, Nan! I know you are right. I was just so sure I was losing while I was gone. It was kind of a shock to see that number on the scale this morning! And of course, hubby was right there, wanting to know how much I had lost. Kind of embarassing to say "nothing".
But you know, most days I eat a protein packed breakfast, then I have a protein drink for lunch, eat a piece of fruit in the middle of the afternoon, and then I have a meat and veggie dinner (like chicken and squash). I don't eat sugar, I don't eat snacks, I don't drink anything bu****er. I mean, I KNOW I am adhering to the diet restrictions. I haven't actually sat down and calculated the calories I'm taking in. I guess I could do that. But I HATE to count calories. I get all "legalistic" and "obessive" about them.
Somehow this "head" stuff keeps creeping back in on me. I wish I could make myself just throw away the scale for good!

Vickie,
Have you been getting in enough protein? For me, that was the key - keep the protein high or my body would stall every time.
There are several sites to give calculations for your intake. I found fitday.com to be easiest.
The "head" stuff is in there forever. How we deal with it takes a long time to change.
You are doing well. Keep it up!!
Kisses
Annette
