Morning Trish and all to follow:
Good luck with your new job Trish -- I know you will be just fine.

Prayers for Baby Liam -- what a sad way to start a new life.

Carolyn, you are such a good mom and MIL....bless you!

Forget who else I was going to say something too .....oh yeah, Nan,if you don't want to go to the wedding, you could always get a bad headache.  I understand about needing the "me" time!

Cindy I will keep you and your hubby in my prayers.
Monica, my dear lady, congrats on a new record every day.  Love your Yoda stories.

I've finished cleaning half the house and I'm wringing wet -- checked the humidity inside and it's 61% -- so I shut everything up and turned on the air.  The carpets are even damp and the vaccuum didn't sweep very good.....hard to push.   So I'm on the net and drinking a big glass of raspberry lemonade crystal lite.

Our Relay for Life (American Cancer) was last nite and today.  Wish I could walk in it.....my foot just won't let me - probably never will.  I support them with my prayers and $$.

Well, better get back at it -- just the living room/dining room to sweep, then dust.

Have a pleasant weekend.
Pat r.

Good Morning Trish and OFF friends,

Haven't posted in a couple days. Been nuts around my place. Went Wes for my endoscopy & everything went well. Dr. said I'm good for surgery. Now I need my consultation & surgery date. Consultation could be by the end of next week! I'm so excited!

Thursday norning I got a call from the nursing home where my FIL lives. They had to call 911 & rush him to the hospital. He was complaining of chest pains and his vitals were all wacked out. Granted, he's going to be 94 in July, he's has 2 quad-bypasses, diabetic, has 1/2 of 1 lung & 1/3 of the other, radical mastectomy on the right side breast & underarm, and sleeps all day. He's very hard of hearing & lost both hearing aids, misplaced his glasses and NOBODY can find them. He can't communicate coherently and doesn't know how to answer simple questions. Anyway, I called my DH to go to the hospital. He's the youngest of his siblings, and the only one who can do this. DH spent the better part of the day trying to translate between the doc & Pop. They finally admitted Pop and kept him for 2 nights. Only thing they could find out of his norm was dehydration.

We went to see Pop yesterday & he had no idea where he was or who we were. We thought he recognized our 5 yr old granddaughter. She calls him "Big Poppa". He just made a comment about "that little girl is a real cutie". It broke her heart that he didn't really know it was her. He's been a part of her daily life since the day she was born. My DH is trying to prepare himself for the inevitable, but it is never easy. Like I said, he's the youngest & takes care of everything for his Pop.

We had our little Kylie with us yesterday because she graduated from kindergarten! She got to spend a special day with us after her ceremony. It was so cute! Unfortunately, we didn't get many pics from our "dis-advantage point". Seems like ALL the other parents who got there late and had to stand in the back, decided to storm the stage and block everyone else from being able to see their graduates. At one time, I scooted on the floor to be able to get a picture of Kylie accepting her diploma. Another woman pushed me over and tried to sit on my lap! I moved my leg and she plopped to the floor! Then had the nerve to stare ME down! Crazy people.

Well, its a hot one here on the SOBX. Need rain! Everything is so dusty and dry. I'm afraid when it does rain, it'll be a frog strangler.

Everybody have a great day and I'll pop back in on you later.
Hugs
Kristi

Kristi,
Glad things are moving along smoothly towards your surgery It's a real good felling. So sorry about your FIL's health issues. It must be very difficult on your husband and you. Graduation from kindergarten sounds like a fun time to spend with Kylie. Too bad adults can't be polite and respectful.    Take care,    Mag

Good morning all my OFf family,

This is my last day alone at the lake house.  Tomorrow I'll make the drive to Houston to pick up my DH at the airport.  I will be so glad to see him.  I had the oddest moment last night in the wee hours of the morning, and I had to check my phone log to make sure it happened!  My cell phone rang ****ep it by the bed at night), and I answered it and it was my husband calling me from Bahrain.  He said, "I just want you to know I made it off the rig and I'll be home tomorrow."  I must have answered him, but I can barely remember the call.  I woke up thinking I dreamed it!  I checked my log and he really did call me.  Another crazy Vickie moment.

Had the best time yesterday with my daughter and grandson at the community pool.  They stayed to have supper with me and then we played on the living room floor for a few hours before they had to leave.  You don't realize how lonely you are until you have someone to eat with and talk to in the evenings.

Today will be my big push to finish up all the deck furniture.  I want them to be done so we don't have to work on that particular project when DH and I come back next week.  Besides he's no painter.  A mechanic/electrician/plumber/ carpenter, yes.  A painter, no.  Better that I do them alone.  I do a much better job.

I'm still hunting for the perfect pink color to go with the Pecan Sandie paint I picked out for the guest bath.  I've narrowed it down to two:  Ballet Slipper Pink and Early Sunset.  (Who thinks up these names?)  I want to buy samples of both and try them out next week before we start the big demolition on all the walls in there.

Nan, I agree with Pat.  If you don't want to go, just say you have a headache.  However, do be aware, that whenever I claim to have a headache to get out of doing something, I usually develop one as payback!

Cindy, before I had my WLS, I had to have a chest xray as part of the pre-admit.  They called me back the next day and said I had a spot on my lung and the doctor ordered an immediate MRI.  Scared the poo out of me.  I spent the whole week thinking I had lung cancer.  Turned out to be scar tissue.  So, be concerned, but don't imagine the worst!  And if it is something, aren't you glad they found it while it is treatable?  Praying for your sweet husband and you!  Have faith and try to remain calm.  Nothing you can do about it right now.

Kristi, glad you are making it through another hoop!  It takes awhile, but all the hassle is worth it after you have your WLS.

To everyone else, have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones and your fur babies!  I'm going out to feed my little herd of deer now.  They're waiting for me.

Love you all!

Glad your hubby is on his way home. How does he deal with jet lag and time change? What you wearing to greet him?  How come he will fly into Houston? Isn't that a long trip for you?
Don't overdo....you don't need to be ahurting for his return. Glad you had such fun with Benny.

Mon, he flies into Houston because that's his normal route to return home and it's a big frickin' deal to change it.  It's about a 3+ hour drive from here to the airport, but that's okay.  It's normally a 2+ hour drive for me to make anyway.  I just sing along with the radio.

Jet lag is tough.  It usually takes him 2-3 days to recover from it.  I've learned not to plan anything for when he first comes home.  He'll be sound asleep by 6 p.m.!

I'm wearing one of my new sundresses as requested!  Either the white and navy, or the black and white.  Both are similar styles.  It's been a long time since I've dressed up for him to come home.  Probably way overdue!

Vickie,
So glad your DH is getting home tomorrow. It's too bad it makes such a long day for both of you. I'm voting for Ballet Slipper Pink just because it sounds relaxing to me. wish we had more animals around here to feed, but I enjoy our birds quite a bit.    As ever,   Mag
