What's Up on Saturday?

Good Morning Peeps,
I am up early, and gonna get ready to walk Utley before the heat of the day.  The river was pretty full yesterday from all the rain we got the other night.  I wish I had a yard on the really hot days, coz, he really hates going for walks as much as I do in the heat.  The park along the river is full of places to sniff and squirt for him.

Today I have two appointments, both were scheduled earlier this week, but I had to cancel and reschedule.  One is the podiatrist, to check the swelling of two of the three toes he operated on in March.  The other is my therapy appointment.  My therapist is a workaholic.  He teaches full time at St. Elizabeth College, and has a practice on top of it.  I often wonder if he sleeps.

I finally read the employee handbook for the hospital I will be returning to on Monday.  I am so looking forward to working there, though I am nervous about being trained in the social work aspect of the job.  I was a group therapist when I was there before.  I had few responsibilities to individual patients.  Now, I will be working one-on-one with my own caseload when I fill in during the week, and doing individual intake assessments on new admissions when I work on the weekends.

Love and prayers to everyone going through a difficult time, especially for Baby Liam.

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and OFF friends!!!  Looks like it's gonna be another hot one here today in the Outer Banks.  We need rain and we need it bad!!  I told my DH this morning that he's not praying hard enough...lol.  The pond next to our house is low low low.  Anyway, hopefully rain will happen soon.

Speaking of husband, he did great having his MRI last week.  Thanks for all of the well wishes  you all gave him & I.  He took the meds the Dr. gave him "just in case" he thought he'd need it.  He decided he'd better take it and boy did it make him loopy!!  I laughed my butt off at him.  He was too funny.  While he had his test, I had an xray on my nect that my PCP wanted done so I figured while I was there with my DH I'd get that done as well.  Anyway, they called him back for his test first then came back while I was still waiting for them to call me.  He sat there and put his watch and jewelry back on.  They called me back, I had my xray, and when I walked back to the lobby, he was taking his jewelry back off.  He informed me that they called his cell phone wanting to know if he could come back to the hospital for another MRI.  He told them he had never left the hospital that he was in the lobby.  They said they'd be right there.  They wanted to do the MRI with contrast this go around.  He was so loopy from the drugs that he didn't ask why.  So after we got home and he slept off his drug daze, we talked about it and wondered why the need to go back, etc.  Well, 2 days later when he had his follow up appt. with the Orthopedic Dr., he told us.  Danny has a "spot" that is blackened on his spine.  The Radiologist was so concerned that he personally called the Ortho Dr. and they discussed this.  The Radio Dr. thinks it might be an infection?  Anyway, the Ortho Dr. sent us straight back to the hospital for extensive blood test to see if it shows infection.  Ortho Dr. said he'll be out of town this wknd and will be back on Sunday, he'll go to his office to find the report and give us a call on Sunday.  What the hell??!!!  Talking about worried!!!  He said if it's infection, we have to go to Greenville, 2 hrs. away, they'll take a biopsy while on the CT scan table and we'll go from there.  OK,....I totally trust your opinions....do I have need to worry?

Oh Cindy,
I would definitely be concerned with this type of thing.  But, right now, it is out of your control, and worrying can make you crazy while waiting.  This is when I turn to God for some peace of mind, and lean on friends and faith.  It could be something simple.  I will definitely pray for both of you.

Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin', ya'll.

Cindy, you and your husband are in my prayers. Should you worry? NO!! It just adds to the stress. I went to Greenville to docs at ECU for my cancer stuff. I loved everyone of them I saw there.

Today is our final Commissary run for groceries our daughter and the grandkids have requested. They will be here tomorrow about noon. Taking the red eye into RDU, instead of here in Jax. Our grandaughter is still trying to recover from her mono and is very tired! Our daughter took her back to the doc on Wed because she was so miserable. She has strep throat and 2 ear infections. He gave her antibiotics, but flying with ear infections can be horrendous!! I have a feeling she will be spending most of her week by the pool!

While our daughter is here she needs to purchase everything our grandson will need for his summer camp. And get it all marked and organized. Tuesday we are driving to the Military Academy in SC for a visit. That is where the grandson will be spending his Junior and probably his Senior year of high school. A friend sent her son to a Military summer camp because he wanted to enroll in the Marines after high school and she was hoping to discourage him. He LOVED it. He said the DI's in his face yelling just made him more determined to excell. Of course, this kid's Dad is a career Marine. So I guess it is in his blood!

Yesterday morning after my shower and running the washing machine, water had backed up in our tub and shower. We have a problem with the pipe to the grease trap. We try to be SOOOO careful to not let grease go through, but when I put a greasy something in the dishwasher it is unavoidable. We might have just needed a snake, but we tried and no go. Luckily our septic guy was able to come out yesterday afternoon. We have to have our septic and grease trap pumped once a year. Our drain field is saturated.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Cindy,
I know it is so difficult not to worry, but don't let it overwhelm you. I am sending hugs and prayers to you and your husband. I had a spot on my lung and it turned out to be an easy fix. So hopefully you will get good news soon.    Mag

Good morning Trish & Cindy. Trish sounds like your new job will be a challange for you, but very interesting. Best of luck with it.

Cindy, try not to think about it. My DH has a biopsy done once & the Doc. said it was cancer & they couldn't help hom. That was on Friday, We had a lot of people praying over the weekend & on Mon. the Doc. called & said oh, it's only scar tissue. I only told you this because no one knows until all the testing is done. Will say prayers for your family for the outcome to be something less.

Well it's raining here, we need it but I hung out clothes. It was supposed to be nice 2 days ago & as soon as I got them out it started raining. Will they be soft enough???

Today is a day to relax & maybe go to Sams Club. Tomorrow a wedding, 4 hrs. away. I would like to stay home. Any good excuses out there??? My DH would still go & I need some me time.

Have a great weekend all!!

Sober 221 days and so proud of me.
Wonderful, gentle Yoda walk already. Getting hot and muggy...need that rain here so much.
Scary fires in Arizona and Texas. Scary cross boarder shootout too....hundreds of bullets
Not much planned. Pool time. Diesel prices dropping. Found a website that shows the lowest prices around town. Interesting to view the graphs as prices have been dropping. Still wonder why diesel is more $$ than gas $$.
Watching the Rifleman with Chuck Conners on AMC. Such moral story's we grew up on.
Prayers for all who need them. Sorry Baby Liam has such a rough introduction to this world.
Huigs and love, you all sustain me in life more than you know...oh I know you know.

221 days is an accomplishment. Keep up the good work.

Oh for a 'gentle' dog walk. Baxter hasn't learned manners yet but finally he doesn't hang from the hem of my pants while we walk. It is a good thing that he's so tiny that I can hold him away with no effort.

Ferocious little beast Teeth when he hears the word NO.

Monica,
Wow The days keep rolling along. 221 days is so great. stay strong my friend. You are awesome! My sister drives a diesel and ask the same question. I remember when diesel was much less per gallon than regular.
    Take care,  Mag
