TGIF What's Up?

Trish,
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement. I guess my timing is a little different from others. Most of the people I know who had surgery at the same time as me went through the emotional upheaval fairly early. I guess I'm a late bloomer. I thought I had dodged this part of recovery. It's nice to know I'm not the first or last to go through this roller-coaster.   Mag

Mag,
The timing factor is probably related more to the rapid weight loss, then how far out you are.  If you are still in that rapid weight loss mode, the hormones will still be released.  When I went through it, I spoke with my psych doc and he adjusted my meds to help me be more "normal" with the irratic emotions.  My roller coaster is never flat, even now, we just try to shorten the hills, and raise the dips, like a Kiddy Roller Coaster, instead of the monster ones the teens love.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning all. Slept late for me....not up until 7:45.
Sober 220 days and so proud of me.
RV nice and comfy and outside at 10:30 it was so beautiful. Went to dog park and we got to see 2 large flamingo's in flight. Their pink hue was so vivid. Amazing show. Yoda had a super run and fun. Still playing around with new/2month old camera. Reading the manuel and practicing.
Sent out 4 pkgs of fly tying equipment to Angus. Hubby is so excited about sending these precious items to him. Big step for us to give these items away...even to our son. He is working on packing up the last of the books and individual special fly's in our collections. We both realize that our fingers just don't work so well on the scale they used too. We fish with such small fly's here in the East.
Not much planned. Prayers and happy Friday to you all.

The heat wave left us and it is a chilly 72 degrees here. Too cold.

The six cats are beginning to accept the Tazmanian Devil aka Baxter. They curl up in his little kennel to nap and love love love to eat puppy food. His tail nipping begins to get out of control and they are learning to swat him on the nose.

We were most worried that Annie, our monster cat, would inflict damage. She has been quite good. Becky, the screamer, has cornered him a couple of times and we've had to rescue Baxter from her claws.

And we walk. Lots and lots of walking. Some walking to tire him out, but walking because it feels good to me.

I love to walk Utley first thing in the morning.  It tires him out and gives me a great start to the day.  After the heat goes up, we do quick pit stops, because he even hates the heat.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I'm really late getting on here today. It's payday, so I was planning to get up earlier than usual and going shopping. Well, I got up just before 8 and that was too early, plus I was getting a headache, so I went back to sleep. Next time I got up it was nearly 11 a.m. and the headache was worse. But I still needed to go shopping, so I got up, stuck my head under the shower and did the best I could: to the Farmers Market for the best salsa I've ever had and some peppers (and if you guys like peaches, boy, you'd love these ... I'm not a peach person); then CVS, a heavy-duty shopping trip to Walmart, then Walgreens ... the headache was really bad and I still have it, plus I'm out of my Imitrex and have no refills and the doc is out of the office til Monday ... the pharmacist suggested Excedrin ...nope, can't take that. Took a vicodin when I got home and stuck an ice pack on my neck and head ... still hurting.

It's 95 degrees so the heat and sunshine isn't helping me, either. Trying to lie low now and hoping to get rid of the headache soon.

Well, at least I don't have to work tonight. I can just stay home and watch baseball. Maybe a nap would help.

Hello everyone,

It's been a busy and full day here at the lake.  Only 48 more hours to go until DH comes home!  I'm trying to fill them up!

This morning I fed all my babies:  my little herd of deer, the squirrels, the birds, etc., all wait for me to make an appearance on the back porch.  This morning Mama deer almost ate out of my hand.  She walked right up to me and ate some corn out of the container I was holding in my hand.  I gave her some grapes yesterday, and now she's my friend for life!  :)

Then I worked on painting some of my deck chairs.  Almost through with that project.  I'll work on it again tomorrow.  And I watered and watered and watered the grass.  Whew!  It's so dry here.  Everything is already brown and burned up--looking more like August than June.

Then my daughter and Benny came out for a visit.  We went for a swim at the community pool.  That was nice.  It was my first time to visit the pool.  Now they're napping, but I'm trying to stay awake and get some laundry done.  I'm feeling awfully sleepy though.  I may have to succumb and crash for an hour.

Got my last email from my husband today.  Tomorrow morning his time (which will be the middle of the night here), he'll start his long journey home.  I'll leave here Sunday morning and make the drive to Houston to pick him up at the airport.  He requested that I wear my new sundress for him!  He said he didn't like all those "flirts" I was getting the other day!  Tee hee!  This is fun.

I did read all the posts, but I'm too muddle-headed to remember who wrote what right now.  So forgive me, and much love and prayers to all, especially Baby Liam.  Poor lil fella!  Life shouldn't be so hard for a 2 month old!

Love you all!
