TGIF What's Up?

Good Morning OFF Family,
I can't sleep.  My apartment is too warm, even with the A/C at full blast.  I could sleep on the couch, where it is cooler, but it is not big enough for Utley and me.

I finished the coveralls for my grandson, and posted the picture of it on Facebook.  Friend me, if you would like to see pics of my projects, and grandchildren.  My full name is Patricia Anne Reilly.

Friday has me heading to the lab for my INR, again.  My Coumadin level was too low on Monday.  Then, I go home to nap, because I have a late afternoon appointment with my therapist.  I may have to reschedule, because when I lose sleep, I usually can't drive to his office on sleep deprivation, because it is over an hour away.  That is a call I will have to make in the morning.

I hope everyone is staying hydrated and cool.  It reached 100 degrees in my neck of the woods already.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Trish,
I'm still up too, but my eyes are sagging. As soon as I finish this post I'm off to bed. It feels so good to be home for two days! I'm taking care of my Mom this summer- trying to determine if she can continue living in her own home with some help. I'm trying- but it's not looking too good right now. Her brain is more impacted than I thought.  But I'll give it my best shot.
My brother took over for a couple of days. It came at just the right time. I was feeling very sad and dejected this morning. This is the hardest job I've ever had.
Tomorrow I have a funeral to attend, then a reception after the funeral. My Friday night tradition, Kelley's, will be next. I will be so happy to be with friends.
For now- off to bed!

Morning Trish, Julia......

Its hot here in NY and I have to say I LOVE IT !!!!  Finally I'm warm.  :)
I have 2 weeks of school yet before summer vacation. My plans for summer school fell thru yesterday...the mother of one of my students wants summer services but, is not willing to transport the child to school .  Ah well...gives me time to recoup.
Liam is finally home after a week in Geisinger Hospital...poor little guy. First belly surgery, then a bad virus.  2 Months old as of Wed. and already a rough road.  Hopefully I can visit with him today and get in some cuddle time.
Not much else going on ..I'll go visit my mom tomorrow and do some things around the house to help her and I'm scheduled for some blood work.
Have a great week end all.....

Marcy, sorry Liam has had a tough beginning, hopefully it will be a boost to his long healthy life ahead!!!

Sorry about the sleep problem, Trish....trusting you will get some rest today. Saw the outfit you made for your grandson and it was so cute!!

I had a night of waking up every hour - rolling over - back to sleep.  Makes for a tired person in the morning.  But I'm up, at work, and have even done my 3 miles on the recumbent bike.

Julia, I am so sorry you have to spend your summer this way.....I know how exhausted I was trying to take care of things for my Mom and she was already in assisted living.  Take care of yourself, my friend.

Rainy here this morning -- tried to get to work early, but it was really coming down and even with my umbrella I got wet coming into the building.

Got a lot done yesterday - big load of towels washed, dried, folded and put away.  Ran errands, and picked up a small box of impatiens for my back patio pot.  Got them planted just in time for the rain today.  I need to put Miracle Gro on my roses sometime this weekend...the rain will put an end to my beautiful peonies.

Time to get busy - hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend.  Those with special needs - you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Pat R.

Good mornin', ya'll.
Trish, I remember making so many clothes for grandkids! Of course, the girl ones were so much easier. I agree, snaps and eyelets are a pain.
Julia, I hope you can find a solution for your Mom that will give all of you peace of mind.
Marcy, I am glad Liam is doing better. You are all still in my prayers.
It is hotter than he** here, too. And the humidity is creeping in! We keep our AC at 68 overnight and 70 during the day. My DH hates being too warm. Our electric bill is big, but, oh well, we are comfortable. But when you walk outside the heat whacks you in the face.
School is officially out here. I know this because I am serving breakfast to kids all day long. Well, I take that back, if they come after about 2 they want lunch. And our daughter and her two kids will be here Sunday. Whoo hoo! I miss them so much. I have a huge grocery list of foods they like for a Commissary run tomorrow. Anyone would wonder why 2 old farts who live alone spend so much money on groceries and buy stuff like soda, chips, pb&j, and other kid friendly stuff.
And OMG, when the older grandson was here yesterday with his friend, I was working on a crochet project. He commented on it. The grandson mentioned the afghan I had made for his girlfriend and wanted me to show it to the friend. The friend said his girlfriend was having a birthday soon, and hinted that he would like something like that. But goodness, I don't wanna be doing projects for everyone!!
Today, I take the car in so they can find the rattle in my dash. They put in a new one last week, and the rattle just gets worse.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning everyone!

I am working for the morning today and have much to do....the week has not been as productive as I would have hoped, or needed to be.

I have a lunch appointment today and then will spend a chunk of my afternoon at the laundromat. My washer (18 months old) needs a part ordered and Mike has to travel for work again this weekend/early next week. I think he would like a couple of shirts and some underwear.

Tonight we have theater tickets. Always a great date night and this is the last show of the season.

The weekend may include some work time for me to try to catch up on everything. I have been great about my gym time and workouts this week - today is my "rest" day but I have gotten 5 hours of exercise in this week. I also tried a couple of Pilates classes for the first time - very different from the aerobics that I usually do!

Wishing all of you a calm and wonderful Friday!

Good Morning Trish and Friends, I'm up again. It's warm here. I have the windows open and the whole house fan circulating. It's just about 60 outside so that works great right now. Yesterday the sub day didn't come through as the school had forgot to request me so I had an unexpected day off. And today is the last day of school with eary release at 10:30am so I assume I won't be called.

Just realized after reading several of the OFF posts from teacher's why I like subbing as a Para-educator (the CURRENT term for a classrooms aide) rather than regular substitute teaching. . . when I'm done I'm done. When I was teaching full time the last few weeks were absolutely exhausting. The students were DONE long before school was and there was so much to complete towards the end of the year. Tests, grades, room cleaning, evaluations and on and on. I could earn more money substitute teaching but the stress level for me would be over the top and re-activate the anxiety disorder that is in check right now For me it's not worth it. I managed to make (and save) enough for the thigh lift I will have on August 23. Next year's money earned will go into my  travel fund.

Hugs to all of you who work with our children. They are the generation that will be in control as we age so do a damn good job!!! Just kidding as I know so much is expected of you that is beyond your control.  So many of these children just do not have the support system that they need and short of taking them home with you you can't do it all. I appreciate all that you do!

So Thursday I mowed the lawn, altered one of the flower girl dresses. I HATE altering clothing. I'd rather make it from scratch. One more dress to go. Little Briley is the same waist measurement as the 3 yr old twin sisters but about 8 inches shorter. Had to take her dress up at the shoulders and shorten the entire dress by 8 inches.

The "expectations" for these 3 little ones at our son's wedding are not great. The bride to be wants them to "look cute" and that's about it. If they make it down the aisle (with my daughter their mother's assistence) it will just be a bonus. Should be interesting to say the least. Briley will be 1 on the 28th of June and she is walking all over so she'll be toddling down the aisle with her sisters.

Today I'll go to the gym and then finish the last dress. I need to take the 3 little dresses and mine to the cleaners to be pressed but think I'll wait a couple of weeks before doing that. We'll go to our daughter's on June 23 for 4 days. I'll take the dresses and make sure they all fit well before trimming off any excess fabric!

Mike's still at Erin's painting. Amazing what dropping 80 pounds in the past year has done for his endurance. He has neuropathy in his feet from his spinal fusion but has been able to paint several out buildings and still enjoy his grandpa time this week.

The sun's starting to peak over the horizon. I love the early quiet of the summer mornings. I think I'll make a pot of coffee and watch the sun rise from the deck. Should go back to bed but I just hurt when I lay there so might as well start the day. I'm a morning person but 3am is just a bit ridiculous isn't it?  People with notice my email hours and comment "What are you doing up STILL at 4am?"  My replay: "Not STILL. . . AGAIN!"

Have a great weekend everyone!
