Hot Humid Wednesday - What's Up Where You Are

Happy Wednesday Friends,

Well the heat is back today, supposed to hit high 90s, sorry but I prefer having to put on some layers as opposed to living indoors with the windows closed. . . grateful to the inventor of air conditioning on days like today will be.  However, I do like the summer days spent at the ocean, so I guess I'll just have to adjust to this warmer weather, cause I sure do like the longer days. . .

Today is my day off from the gym and meetings and it is my granddaughter, Avery's birthday!  She informed her parents on Monday that it was her birthday week, oh boy are they in for it, she is 4 and thinking along those terms (lol).  So tonight is her birthday dinner which will be corn dogs and mac n cheese followed by birthday cake, I have a "pink" baby buggy in the car for the little sweetie and look forward to seeing her and her brother this evening after work. . . speaking of which I'd better get ready, so you all have a wonderful day and wishing peace and strength to those facing life challenges.

Be back later,

Hugs, Laureen

Good Morning Laureen and OFF Family,
I just posted Roll Call on the PA Forum.  I got to talk to my son last night.  He is due to be discharged from the hospital today.

I have to walk Utley and get to my AA meeting.  Thanks for the kick in the butt yesterday.  Then, I will hit the gym for a swim, and I have an appointment at the pain doc's.  This afternoon, I have to tidy my apartment and finish sewing Lincoln's coveralls.

Have fun at your granddaughter's birthday party.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Laureen and OFF family, happy "Hump Day"
Yep, it's going to be another hot one. There's a nurse down the hall from me who is always cold and she was cold yesterday, she went outside to warm up!

Had a great workout in the pool yesterday after work. I'm undecided to go after work again or just wait until tomorrow. I'll just see how much walking I get in today here at work. But tomorrow it's gym day again. Gotta get my money's worth for paying for the gym...and I usually do!

Take care everyone, have a great day and be kind to yourselves! Hugs Debbie

Good morning Laureen & OFF friends,

Big day for me today. I'm having my endoscopy this afternoon. Nothing after midnight & the procedure is @ 2:30 this afternoon. We will be driving about 2 hrs away to Greenville. Looks like dinner in Greenville afterwards. Guess the "kids" can fend for themselves tonight. My senses are reeling. I can smell the wonderful aroma of the coffee brewing for my Hunny. No need for him to go without.

After my endoscopy, I'll be scheduled for my consult with the surgeon, then surgey date! Oh, I am so excited about being this close.

Take care and hope all of you have a wonderful day.
Hug,
Kristi

I empathize...I had my RNY and hernia surgery in the afternoon, as well as a foot surgery.  When I went to the hospital for my RNY, I was begging them to hook me up to the IV because I was thirsty and sugar low.  When I had the foot surgery, I went to work that morning and my friend bought Krispy Kreme donuts for everyone, it was years before my RNY, and I took two for after my surgery.

Hang in there.

Hugs,
Trish

Another hot one here in southwest Michigan also -- predicting 96 deg.   I'm at work and it felt like the furnace was on when I stepped into my office -- so my fan is going full blast!

Did up a load of undies early this morning so I wouldn'd have to  run the dryer in my garage this afternoon.....it was already 80 deg. out there this morning -- it faces the west so I get the hot afternoon sun.

Nothing but staying in the house this afternoon with the a/c on.   I did my 20 minutes on the bike this morning and was sweating even after that with the a/c on.

Spent some special time with my favorite cousin Judy yesterday....she is dying from cancer and doesn't have much time left.   We reminised and had a good time recalling the crazy things we did as kids.   I don't want to let her go, but God knows best.  Today is her 69th birthday.   I held it together pretty good -- was afraid I would really lose it, but didn't.  Only once did we both get teary eyed.

Gotta get busy now.  Everyone stay cool and hydrated.

Hugs,
Pat r.

Pat,

Sending you hugs for the sadness of letting go, I know only too well that feeling, as my cousin who was also a dear friend to me and who started my footsteps on this journey, passed away 5 years ago at the age of 52, way too young. . .prayers for you and your cousin. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Pat, sorry to hear about your cousin. I remember the last time I spent with my friend Gloria when she was dying. She gave me a lot of wisdom. I think when people know they are going, they gain a lot of wisdom to impart to us who they leave behind. It's kind of a present, if you're open to receive it.

You're hotter up there than we are down here in the Delta. It's "only" 91 here .. but with 49 percent humidity and feels like 95. Hoping we get some rain ... we are in severe drought conditions and really need rain.
