Saying prayers for the needs listed.
Monica, so proud of you too. You are amazing.
Vickie, sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Hope it all goes well. You'll post pics when you are done, won't you?
We have 2 fires going on right now. One to the southeast of us and one to the southwest of us. I can smell the smoke in the air and the mountains are really hazy. The sun is a strange color this morning. Must be the smoke doing it. Winds to pick back up today which will hinder the efforts to contain them. Some people have had to evacuate their homes. So sad. Please say a prayer for everyone's safety. Thanks.
As always, Mag
I haven't posted in a few days...I'm at work...ssshhh, don't tell my boss I'm on here.
Thinking about you an got the prayers going up for your stress test, Margaret. Seems like we have all had it at one time or another. Hope all they find is your warm wonderful heart and no problems.
Loving the pink tile situation, Vickie. You really MUST post pics of that glorious pink shower...before and after...
It is very pleasant this morning on the SOBX. It is going to heat up, but for now it is very nice.
Yesterday was the youngest grandbaby's 1st birthday. Syndey is 1 yr old now. It is fun to watch them grow and learn. Sometimes I think she is training me. She has trained me to feed her from my plate (only good healthy veggies). She has trained me to pick her up when she reaches her little arms to me. She has trained me to keep the baby gate latched so she doesn't escape into the kitchen and get under my feet when I'm cooking.
I have 6 beautiful grandkids. Logan 11, Evan 10, Kylie 5, Erynn 3, Jayden 14 mos, Sydney 1yr...and one due in Oct just before my birthday.
Just checked in with my daughter in Germany. Warned her to stay away from the bean sprouts, etc that they found tainted with E-coli. Checked with my daughter & DIL who live with & near me. There was a bad wreck on the road where my daughter lives and I wanted to make sure they were all ok. It's one of the worst roads in Onslow County and people drive like maniacs.
I have my endoscopy on Weds. Wi**** could have been scheduled earlier in the day. It's @ 2:30pm with nothing by mouth after midnight, not even water. Got to go to Greenville for this test. My Hunny is going with me. He started to freak out when I told him I couldn't eat all day. He thought that meant HE couldn't eat. I assured him the test was for me and he could eat if he feels like it.
Funny thing, we use a lot of abreviations like SIL, BIL, MIL, DIL. But I have often wondered if DH is for Dear Husband, Darling Husband, or Dumb Hubby...enlighten me, Oh Wise Ones.
Like I said, I'm at work and people are bothering me to get things done LOL. Actually, it looks like a slow day for me.
Hugs and stuff
Kristi
Best wishes to those having tests today -- the MRI is not bad - I've had two in the last 6 months.
thinking of those in Ariz. with the terrible wild fires.....have a dear friend in Kingman.
Busy weekend for me -- cleaned my dirty house Sat. morning -- even mopped....my cleaning angel had to go out of town, so it was up to me and it had been 2 wks --YUCK! Then Sat. afternoon I attended a piano recital because one of my former students was playing in it --(I retired 2 yrs ago from teaching) She is fantastic and did an awesome job with her two selections -- I felt proud that I had a small part in her training. Yesterday was early church, then Book Club last evening....we read and then reviewed "The Forgotten Garden" -- great read, very long. Everyone liked it.
We don't meet in July, I am hosting in August and we are reading "Heart in the Right Place" by Carolyn Jourdan -- humorous and heart touching.
Better get to work -- special thoughts and prayers for all.
Hugs,
Pat R.

Done! Your Ticker:
Wow, Not ever 7:30am and 2 pages of posts already. I'm up, showered, dressed, pills, breakfast. . . and no sub call yet. Can it be possible that I won't be called today? I can take it as I have plenty that I'd like to do, but I'll give them another hour before I put my exercise clothes on and head to the gym. Just as soon as I start to make plans I'll get a call to report to work somewhere. It's the last week of school and I've worked most days the past 3 weeks; anytime I've been available.
Would not break my heart if I don't get a call. Had a busy but fun weekend. Attended a 21 yr old 2nd cousin's wedding. It was very small, about 40 people, at a small lodge in the Yakima River Canyon about 90 miles from here. It was a gorgeous day about 75 degrees, sunny and a light breeze. Parents love the young man, but wish they had waited a few more years before tying the knot. She still has 3 semesters of college left and has promised to finish tho she'll be away from her hubby during the week. He has a really good job and can't afford to quit it to follow her to Spokane to school. So, she'll do the back and forth on weekends.
Yesterday involved a swim party for one of my special needs students and then a graduaton barbecue for a neighbor. Plenty of sunshine but I didn't burn as I applied a liberal coating of sunscreen.
I have minor alternations to do on the 3 flower girl dresses for Hannah, Clara, and Briley. All the same size. Briley's nickname is "Sumo" but hers needs to be shortened in the shoulders and about 8 inches of length. I'm altering hers first. I think I could have made the dresses easier by the time I finish the taking apart, altering, and putting back together. Plus, not having them here to try on is a pain. I won't cut any material off of Briley's til I try it on her in 3 weeks.
That's about it from here. I continue to be amazed at how healthy I feel. Oh, I have aches and pains related to joint arthritis, but all in all I am blessed.
Working hard to "shut my mouth and get to the gym." A special friend very succinctly said what it takes me pages to put into words. That's really it in a nutshell: shut my mouth (meaning eat healthily and appropriate amounts) and get at least an hour of exercise 3-4 days per week. Last week the exercise alone resulted in a 2 lb drop. This week I'll be mindful of what goes in the mouth and conscious of stopping when I've had enough. Not opening my mouth to consume things just because I WANT them!
You all have a great day.

I am late posting because I had to scoot to the lab first thing for my PT INR bloodwork. I hate the lab that my doctor's office uses because they changed ownership, and now they take forever. It took an hour long wait before I could get my blood drawn. Ridiculous. I was supposed to see the nurse at the doctor's to get the results but I would have had to wait another hour for that, so the nurse had told me I did not have to wait if they took too long, and he would call me with the results later.
Today, I am trying to change the sewing machine needle, because I broke it yesterday, and the old one is so tight, I am breaking my fingers trying to unscrew the wing nut holding it on. If I am successful, I will be finishing up a pair of shorts coveralls for my grandson, and then starting a dress for my Princess. It is already cut out, I just have to piece it together. My big fear is the zipper. I had to pick a pattern requiring a zipper. I need to find my zipper foot for that and I can't remember where I stored it.
I will also be hitting my AA meeting, which I desperately need. I have slacked off in that area, and it jeopardizes my sanity and sobriety if I let too much time go between meetings.
Have a great day.
Hugs
