Good Morning Sharon and everyone else that peeks in,
I'm on my way to pick up Mom. We replaced her carpet and we are moving her back home today. I am spending the night and my brothers and I will take turns staying with her until we figure out how much she needs to be safe. I'm tired already. We moved furniture on Wednesday (just my brother and I- and you KNOW how bad my back is) and I was very careful but we got it done. Now it all needs to go back into the rooms.... a little at a time now.
There are lots of details to handle. Well- time to go. Hope you are all feeling good today!

Hey Sharon OFFr's,
Good Afternoon folks,
I think as time permits, we all peek in from time to time during the day and so some days the board is like a big non-stop chatroom. . . other's it's like "where did everyone go". . . life post-WLS is definitely fuller with us being able to do more living because our mobility sure changes some as a result.
Well last night turned out to be a bit exciting and I was not looking for that kind of exciting, for those who are on facebook, you already know that I was sitting in PepBoys this morning replacing my tires due to a blow out, well here is the whole story. . .
I was driving home from work, making excellent time because for some odd reason the traffic was lighter than usual, the light on my dash that tells you to check you tires went on, I was like ok, great, no place to really stop, unless I got off the highway, to take a looksee and so I figured I'd be fine til I got to NJ and home (mind you I travel 3 states daily, though most of it is NJ, I pass from there to PA for about 2 or 3 miles and then into Delaware where I work). . . it was windy and the fact that the car was pulling a bit was not unusual given the winds, so I kept going, I had places to be and people to see and I would check the tires when I got there. . . made it into NJ, cruising at a good clip up Interstate 295, wide open road, doing about 75 and staying in the left lane, because (a) I was driving fast and (b) there is a shoulder just in case, these were my thoughts as all of a sudden the car started wobbling and pulling severely to the left, at which point I quickly got onto the shoulder of the road, got out and took a looksee and the tire was shredded. . . at that point I thought to myself how I must have had a few angels working overtime, because Julia's accident came to mind, I know I should have gotten off when the light went on, but the lights have gone one before with nothing wrong, so I don't trust them and while I knew I needed new tires soon, there was nothing seriously wrong with them. . .I called Tony, then called Toyota, as I have roadside assistance with them, told me I'd have to wait about an hour, so ok, just as I hang up, a car pulls up behind me, a nice young man gets out and asks if I have help coming to which I respond yes, he said, well if you'd like help with changing that tire, be happy to do so, to which I responded, well that would be much appreciated and less than 10 minutes later, I was ready to be on my way, he made me promise I would drive slowly and not go a great distance on that donut, told me to have all my tires checked at the one that blew out had dryrot and he would not allow me to give him the money I was trying to hand him, then he made sure I got on the highway and was gone. . . what could have been a nightmare was a 20 minute situation and I am so grateful that while today it cost me a few hundred dollars to replace the tires on my car, no harm came to me or anyone and lesson learned, light goes on, stop and see what it is.
Oh and I did go on to have a nice dinner with my "een" friends, women I met at my WLS support group, Eileen and Arlene. . .
Well that's my story and today it is beautiful and I am looking forward to my weekend starting in 18 minutes . . .
Wishing you all the best of things, Laureen

Good evening Sharon and everyone.....
7 PM and I finally have some me time!!
I did laundry and cleaning all morning and half the afternoon. Then Grace and I went outside for about an hour or so. The humidity was so high we couldn't last much longer then that. It is in the 90s and that normally doesn't bother me but it was very wet and sticky out there. We came in and played games until her dad got here a bit ago to take her for the night. He was late getting here which is normal for him. My daughter and Nic had other plans.
I think I might go shower again and go out for a few hours....I need some adult conversation.
Wishing you all a great evening.
Prayers for those in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d
