We always try to avoid the commissary the first of the month too. Crazy long lines.
Have safe passage on your travels. We ran into a problem at Walmart few months back, clerk checking us out was so interested in us getting a Walmart credit card, she didn't pkg some of the items I paid for. Thankfully when we got home I called and told them, when we went back to store days later I was expecting trouble, but customer service had reviewed the check out tape and made a comment in a book that explained my issue, poof all set and done.

Couple of years ago visiting my Sis in NY we rented a movie from one of the local stores. And old movie. Left it in the cart when loading groceries. Called when we got home-nope, movie gone. If we couldn't find it they would charge us $29.99! Yikes, a lot for us at that time. Next day went to WM and found the movie in the bargain bin for $5. We unwrapped it and returned it to the other store and saved some bucks.
Why do people take stuff? Probably stuff they don't even want! Grrr.

Good morning Sharon and OFF family. Happy Friday! Whhoooooo
Sharon, I try to answer when I'm on the computer. I don't have a computer at home only at work. I get here early and post then during my breaks I'll check to see the happenings on OFF.
I usually don't post on any other forums, I have connected with my own age group.
So yesterday I didn't go to the pool. After work I went shopping for birthday presents for the grand kids. Then rushed home and hubby and I mowed the lawn, we mow almost 8 acres and have 2 riding lawn mowers so when we were done by 8pm, sat in the hot tub for a few minutes then made an easy supper. Late supper, I was hungry by then. I could have ate the kitchen sink.
Tomorrow I have Rozzie's 9th birthday party and a nephew's high school graduation party to go to. Lots of temptations, I will allow myself treats then just be careful and not treat myself to cookies after church during fellowship. I'll take my apple and chit chat with my church family.
I have a plan...now I need to stick to it!
Hubby is leaving at 6am tomorrow for 4 wheeling fun with his buddies, he will be gone all week so I can just work out at the gym after work and not feel guilty about not being home or reading my books. For some reason hubby hates for me to read if he's around. I usually tell him to go work in his workshop on his hobbies...reading is one of my passions. I just love to read.
Everyone have a great weekend, do something fun just for you! Hugs Debbie

Sober 213 days and so proud of me. Well somedays I do "sit" by my conputer all day it seems.
Feeling better this AM, got myself UP yesterday after reading your UPlifting me reply's.
Did more running around yesterday and was pooped after 2 really busy days in a row. I got my haircut with Eric the barber, great cut, scalp massage, back & shoulder massage all for $12. Much better service at the barber than at pricy salon. Yoda looks great and hubby too.
Gorgeous here, crisp and clear this AM. Will be really hot with humid due, but hey AC works.
Sharon, each day can be a trumiph for each of us. That mindful eating is important. Using my measuiring tape later today to check out stats.
My eyes are so swollen, lids a droopin. Got to "milk" them I guess.
Not much planned. Hope all have a great Friday..Hugs Monica

Hello Sharon and friends on OFF,
I do seem to be on-line a lot in the mornings. Mornings for me can be anywhere from 5AM like today or as late as 11AM. I get a 16 ounce glass of water, morning meds, and then vitamins. Then I drink drink drink as I check out my different sites. After that I will usually check in about 4PM and 9PM. I use the Health Tracker to record my daily intake. If I tried to do it all in the evening I would forget something for sure. I want to be accurate as possible,
PT was wonderful yesterday. I was able to do some simple exercises without the neck brace. It felt soooo good. Dr. Hinkle is on vacation next week and doesn't want me to do anything different while he is gone. He wants to be around to evaluate the effects of having the neck brace off. See if its changing anything. Added some new and more difficult exercises to the routine. They kept me for 1 and 1/2 hours. I take frequent breaks to prevent getting too warm because I don't sweat. That's why I love going to the pool. Keeps me cooled down.
This is my free day. No appointments. That's a good feeling. I'll work on packing up more clothes to go out the door never to return. Maybe I will actually shop for slacks at the same resale shop. I'm still wearing the same ones from when I started this journey. 100 pounds later and they are basically falling off. I have lots of tops and sweaters etc in different sizes but very few slacks.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and peaceful day. Mag

Grandchildren!
Our sweet darling granddaughter didn't get to go on her 8th grade retreat because of her mono. Yesterday she did go to the yearbook signing at the school. But by the time she showered and dressed she was totally worn out. Her side really hurt when she got back. Her Mom took her for another ab ultrasound. Her spleen is enlarged, but not a concern yet. She MUST stay inactive or the spleen could enlarge more and rupture. Not sure if that is "for reals" (as she would say), or if the doc is just trying to keep her from overdoing!
Today is laser tag for her class and she will definately be missing that!
Her brother is 16 and thinks he knows everything there is to know. He told his Mom yesterday he wants to take the test for his GED. He is sure he is smart enough to pass it. Then he wants to take some CLEP tests to see if he is smart enough to get some college credits already. This is the same kid who has D's in every subject and will be doing a summer program and the next 2 years of high school at a Military Academy. He won't do homework because it is a waste of time. Of course, he tells his parents he did it at school.
Why can't we telepathically give them life lessons it took us 20 years to learn!

My youngest was diagnosed with mono on her 16th birthday. A lousy gift.
She got up one morning and her tummy was huge. We immediately went to the doctor. Enlarged spleen - a true concern. The doctor warned me that something as simple as a sneeze could make it rupture and to keep her super quiet.
She was out of school from March until the following Fall. It is a debilitating illness. Not simply what we called "the kissing disease".
I hope she rests and feels better soon.

Always wished we had the power of Spock in Star Trac to perform mind-melds. Discovered how much Angus, now 27, turned to us these past months for advice and our opinions with his move to MT. He calls us with questions and concerns...wish he done this as a teenager. But that didn't happen. Also realize with his OCD and learning problems, audio lessons better learned and remembered. We have had some of the BEST conversations over the past weeks.
Feel bad that your Gdaughter had to miss the festive end of school year activities. We forget how bad mono can be.
I also wished for a cattle prod when my kids were growing up. Zap them into common sense. Don't you just wish your Gson could enjoy and embrace the journey of normal teenagers progress to adult-hood days. How he will treasuire these times as he ages. Getting them to savor the journey instead of just wanting the future is impossible.
