Hi OFF.How do ya all go back and forth with messages, its like your talking on the phone cuz ya answer each other right after something is posted. do ya just go stay on the computer??????
Anyway about eating more than ya should, I cannot do that I gulped water too much and my tummy ached. Its like My body is controlling me instead of me controlling my body. When they say listen to your body I certainly know what that means now.
I go to TOPS once a week to get weighed so I don't get on the scale more often then that. So I don't drive myself nuts that way.
I am starting to feel more like this WLS wasn't a bad thing to do.
I celebrate my birthday every year alone or with someone, it is a happy day and enuff for me, to celebrate with myself. Monica I hope you can do that with your sobriety. go girl
i use the spell check alot!
Gotta go
Happy days to all
HUGS and sunshine

Hi Sharon and my OFF family:

I don't think we all stay on the computer all day ... I know I don't, I have to go to work eventually. But anyway, I definitely feel WLS wasn't a bad thing, although I know I have to do something to get back on track again. I will be 7 years out at the end of the month.

Not a whole lot new today; worked last night and now just sitting up watching DVR'd TV for awhile. Brought my chocolate zucchini cake into work, but not a lot of people ate it; well, maybe more today.

Well, that's all, going to bed soon. Have a good one.

Hello, everybody!!

Well my Womens Health & Wellness Show is finally done and over with..yayy! It was a great day and everyone was enjoying the presentations and all the mini-treatments, samplings and socializing. 56 women vendors and most were happy...one yelled at me and snarled and glared at me all day because she hated her spot ...too bad she hadn't checked out the floorplan that I'd published on our website a month before and encouraged them all several times a week to check...maybe then, she might have known what her booth number was and had set up in the correct spot instead of where she did. That's one who will not be invited back. And she claims to be an energy healer and coach!?   The great part is that we made almost $2000.00 profit for our funding!

I have the next few days off and I'm staying home! Our older son, Danny, was supposed to be here for dinner tonight. I had roast chicken, steamed asparagus from the field out back,  a baget, fresh tossed salad, lemon meringue pie. Finally got a call from him..he was in BOSTON, Mass still!

Wednesday morning, he and his boss, the excentric millionaire who owns the company where Dan works, flew in the boss's Beech Bonanza 6-seater plane to Boston to evaluate some electronic equipment and were to return home the same day.  However, with the tornadoes, they landed in Albany, NY instead to overnight there. The next morning they headed to Boston to check out the electronics.

When they started back home, there was a small issue with the plane and they flew to an avionics mechanic to check it out.  However, when the mechanic revved the plane engine very high to check something, the wheel blocks got sucked up by the power of the propeller and they destroyed the prop completely.  $15,000.00 to replace it..yikes! and the boss has to pay close to $600.00 for overnight shipping for the broken parts. So they are stranded in Mass. and hopefully the plane will be fixed and SAFE for them to get back home sometime Friday...please say a wee prayer to keep them safe.

And Danny has just announced to me that he has been going to flying school and is going for his pilot's licence and wants to build his own plane. I KNOW he is so skilled that he can do this very well, but darn, like I need more stress!? LOL

I still cannot bury Mom's urn yet..everytime I make a decision, it rains ..and rains insanely here..maybe next week. And the area where five veteran's are buried, including Dad's gravesite, is flooded...no one can stand there for a service. So Mom sitds in her beautiful urn in my livng room and I still talk to her every day.

Today I sat on the porch and washed baby faces...19 kittens of assorted sizes! Fortunately I've found homes for half of them when they are "of age".  The sad part is that someone  really wants my favourite baby.  She is half the size of her littermates, the runt , and a sweet friendly little tortie who comes running to me when she sees me..she is so tiny that I call her "TimBits"...likely only a Canadian would "get" that.  You see, in Canada, there's a chain of coffee shops called Tim Hortons (named after a famous and deceased Canadian hockey player) and they also sell doughnuts. They call the small doughnut holes Tim Bits!

So I guess I have to let my little TimBits go..at least I know she will be loved and have an inside forever home.

I've started my LifePath groups again and have a waiting list for September.  If it stays dry long enough, I intend to set the last of Mom's furnishings out on the front lawn and invite my nieces and nephew (and, I guess, my sister) to come and take what they want. Let the vultures feast. I'm taking all of Mom's clothes up to Quebec this summer for my other sister...she asked for them.

We do need some dry weather..our garden out back is a lake right now...looks like this will be a difficult growing season here.

Sending love, comfort and support to all.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well, I don't sit at the computer all day, but my iPad is never far away and it gives me a ding if there is a post on my FB, e-mail, or OFF. After lots of dings I just have to check!
Nancy, our daughter travels in their corp jet often and it scares me to death. Whenever I see a small plane crash in the northwest I shudder. About ten years ago the plane they rented crashed while the pilot was teaching someone to fly. Now they have their own plane and pilot, but it still scares me!
Well, let me tell ya', Eeyore is more time consuming than I expected. I have 2 ears, a muzzle and face, and half an arm done. I did have some interruptions again, though. I guess if I don't wanna be interrupted I should go lock myself in my DH's CB shack!
More humidity, a trip to the Commissary, some crochet on today's agenda. I wish the Commissary opened before the heat gets too bad. But, nope, 10 AM.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Good Morning Sharon,
I don't sit on the computer all day.  I do try to check in reglarly though.

Today, I am heading to my AA meeting.  Then, I have some last minute shopping to do for a bridal shower we are throwing for my sis-in-law.  Then, I am heading to the church to help set up, and afterward we are heading to a friend's for a picnic.  Should be a fun day. The shower is tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

I'm not sure I know what you mean by your comment, "do ya just go stay on the computer???"  I doubt any of the wls folks have time to just sit and stare at their computer screens; I know I don't.

Today my grandbabies are coming for a weekend visit: I cannot wait.  If the creek is warm enough, we are taking them in for a little swim.  If the creek isn't warm enough, we will retreat to the park and have a picnic.  The kids love having picnics.
My dh is looking at canoes; he wants to teach the older grandbabies to canoe.  So, if all goes well, soon he and the kids will canoe around the lake.  I, on the other hand, suffer from motion sickness if my feet are not touching the ground, so no boating for me.

Today is the end of the big retailer giant's shareholder meeting and my university will be back to normal.  While I'm not teaching this summer, I am doing a ton of resource work, and the shareholders seem to pop up everywhere.  Even if my office door is closed, they still manage to knock and ask where the nearest sandwhich shop is.  Drives me nuts.

A group of friends and I have been doing zumba and let me tell you, my arms and legs are feeling very sore.  But, zumba is such a fast and furious exercise and I know that I don't have to do every single step.  Good news all the way around.  I jokingly tell my friend not to get too close because I have these sails under my arms.  She tells me to not get too close to her because she has bolders on her chest that…well, you know.

I guess that about does it for me.

I've been taking Zumba Gold classes twice a week.  It's a bit more "impact resistant" than the regular Zumba.  That's a good thing, because many of the members are older, and between the arthritis and the joint replacments, the instructor is trying to avoid damaging us.

I've fought exercise as long as I can.  At 5 years out the re-gain seemed to be here for good, but the exercise helps (yes, I knew it would, just don't like to exercise), and I've dropped 5 of the 10 I want to lose.

I figure if I ever get proficient at the Gold (yeah, like that's gonna happen, with my coordination....) I might try the regular classes.

Something to look forward to this winter.  Ugh.

I'm actually enjoying it, but don't tell anyone.  It would ruin my rep as a slacker.

Good for you Candy. Zumba sounds like fun but a Zumba Gold would better suit this old body. I might mention this to the gym manager and ask if they might start one.

Zumba is great fun, couple of the folks at my WLS group actually are now certified Zumba instructors. . .  however, with my heel spur I dare not take Zumba right now, maybe by Fall I'll be able to find someplace to take a class once or twice a week. . .

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Good Morning Sharon & OFF family,

It's been a few days since I posted anything on here but I have been checking on ya'll. Work has started getting busier with all the tourists on the island. I "investigate" guest damages and take care of repairs and replacing damaged items. Worst times are spring break, prom, and graduation. Parents will actually rent multi-million dollar beach houses for their teenage kids to have parties and destroy. Stupid people = job security.

Anyway, today I'm off. We're headed to Jacksonville (Hi, Grammylew!) to visit Pop in the nursing home. He never knows we're there. Got a call last night from oldest BIL's housemate. She said he's been in the hospital for about a week in Tx. He's a bundle of medical conditions and not doing well.

We were thinking about going to the commissary last Tuesday but decided against it. Military pay day + retiree's payday + crowded aisles = total frustration! Went to Sam's Club instead and loaded up on stuff.

Part of my job includes shopping for replacement items. Yesterday I went to Morehead City to Walmart to spend some company funds ( I have a credit card..hehehe...) decided to buy a small container of protein powder for myself and paid for that with my own money...no co-mingling or extortion going on! While putting all my company stuff carefully in the back of my van, I forgot to get the bag of my stuff off the bottom of the cart. I pushed the cart to the corral and left the bag. I went back to Walmart when I realized my mistake and no one had turned it in...imagine that? It was $20 worth of stuff, not a ton of money, but a lot to me. Stupid me...

Gotta go get ready for my day-off outing. Check ya later!
