Mindful Eaters...Who would know....

Well this is certainly true, we are our own worst critics. We are hard on ourselves. We are responsible for what we put in our mouths and how much. We are the ones to push ourselves to move more. Weight issues will never go away but we are the ones in control. Some days are better than others. We just keep on keeping on! Hugs Debbiejean

Who would know....

Who would know if you slacked off...just gave up...quit...decided you just can't be mindful today?

--Does it matter who else knows?  You are your own worst critic.  Everyone else is just extra.

That is certainly a truth in my world. . .  and it is where the "f its" begin. . .  had to turn that into efforts!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Thank you Debbie...I needed to hear this today.

I have been eating all wrong for awhile now. Just been too exhausted to care. I need desperately to get back to basics!

Like the song goes...."my give a damn is busted". Hope I can turn this around soon.

Have a wonderful day....love and hugs....connie d

Being aware of what goes into my mouth is so important....savoring each mouthful was a new thing in my life after WLS. Putting down the fork b/w bites so essential. Even 7 yrs post op, I still make myself put that fork down. So thankful we switched to salad sized plates. When I look at the normal sized dinner plates we have I can't believe how much more I would put on it. Simple changes. Nancy Gal Oregon/Goat Lady even used small forks and spoons...she brought them with her to an OH meeting in NJ yrs ago. Being mindful is a permanent state we need to live thru to be successful in our journey. Went for haircut this AM, the barber is on a new life style eating way and has lost over 70 lbs with small changes made for the entire household, wife and kids all eating healthier and less. He is frustrated that the weight is taking so much time to come off. I reminded him that he didn't get MO overnight. Small changes add up, just like the pounds did. I also told him to get a measuring tape. Amazing how often I still use it. Don't use the scale, it became an enemy I didn't need to make me feel bad about my journey. thanks for this post today, needed it. Doing better. Hugs, Monica

Hugs right back at you Monica.
I too use the smallest plate available especially when I go out.
When I eat out I either share a meal with hubby or if he is really hungry I order my own and ask for a take home box as soon as they deliver my meal if not before.
It's amazing if the food is still in front of me after I have ate my fill and wait around and talk and if that darn food is in front of me I will pick at it. Not good!
Baby steps and simple changes are wonderful. We learn as we go.
I don't use the scale either, if you don't tell yourself lies you can tell by the way you clothes fit...along with looking at yourself naked in the mirror! LOL

My workout buddy and BF canceled on me for the pool workout after work which is fine, I need to mow my lawn and I'll just take a walk with the doggies. Then I'll sit and relax in the hot tub! That is my reward for mowing the lawn. LOL Have a great evening. Debbie
