Saturday Morning. . . What's New With You?
We had a major thunder storm overnight. I love to hear it. We used to love to hear that heavy rain on the top of our 5th wheel when we lived in it for a couple of years.
The New River Air Show starts at 8:30 this morning. We have been hearing the planes for days. Another sound I love to hear. Makes me feel safe. We live half a mile from the air station. I need to go to the Commissary to return a thing of cottage cheese we got last week. We didn't open it because the expiration date was November 18, 2010!!! I won't fight the traffic this weekend, though.
I need to go get my pedi this morning, but it is in the opposite direction of all the traffic for the show.
We are sitting here listening to Fox News and it is so upsetting to hear all the corruption in the different government agencies! Plus, I gotta tell ya, I think the govt. is spilling their guts too much about this entire Bin Laden operation, and what they found!! Oh well, sorry for the tiny rant there.
Karen, and others, it is hearing about your visits with your little
grandkids that makes my wish we had some little great grandkids to snuggle and spoil!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
We are so upset too learning about the corruption in Post Office, how Mexico get $$$ to fight their fires and Texas is not declared a state of emergency via FEMA and #44's administration. Come on. Very upset about SC and problem with NLRB declaring an investigation into NOT allowing Boeing to open a huge job making plant since SC doesn't require union business. Smacks of "pay off" thank you to unions for their influence and pressure to elect #44. I know that each day after I make my PHONE calls to WH & Congressional Offices I feel like a great American Citizen. Giving praise and thanks for deeds I APPROVE, and stating my list of deeds I DON'T APPROVE.
I love your granddaughter's explanation on how to get the boogies. Priceless.
I am tired, and still have more cleaning. I am resting the leg where I have the bad hip and toes. I woke up in a lot of pain on both, which makes no sense at all. Took Utley for a really good walk, and then hit WalMart for some necessities, and luxuries.
Also, picked up an early edition of Sunday's paper, to get the ads and coupons, as I am a coupon clipper. I cut all the coupons, and mail my daughter the ones I don't need, that I think she would use, so it is like sending her money, especially if it is for diapers.
Sometime today, I must hit my AA meeting. I also must see my ex, as I picked up his jumper cables while in Michigan, coz daughter borrowed them for her trip home in April.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Trish

Morning Karen and OFF family!!!
LOL Karen!!! Cute story....;-)
Had a huge downpour yesterday afternoon!!!! OMG did it pour!!! Had some flooding in the area and glad I was inside working!!! Rain wa****ting the roof so hard it was hard to hear what people wanted to order!!! WOW!
Went out for dinner last night to Texas Road House. Had steak ofcourse and man was it ever good!!! Gotta love it!!! Now we eat cheap the rest of the week but it was well worth it!!
Never heard if the birthday party was called off or not because of the storm/rain so we didn't go. It was Anthony's 3rd birthday party and it was at the park outside and no protection from the rain...so if she couldn't call us to let us know if it was moved or what was going on...we weren't going to drive way over there to find out and not find anyone there. Sad isn't it? She can only call daddy when she NEEDS something....oh well Anthony will get his gift when he comes over again.
Working today 1-9 yippeeee it will be busy I am sure and we are doubled up at the busy time so its not so bad now. And I work with one that helps good! So that is a plus!!
Well that is about it for me today...need to get some food in me then get ready for work. Prayers and thoughts for those that need them!!!
HUGS
Not a lot going on here today. Missing my husband, but trying to stay busy. The first week is always the hardest. Then I sort of adjust and get on with my life until he comes home again.
I picked up my crochet again this week to keep me occupied (and out of the kitchen) in the evenings. I'm just finishing up a little yellow baby blanket. I like to make baby things. I tried selling some of my stuff on Etsy.com a couple of years ago. I did sell some things, but it was so much work keeping my "store" current and at the top of their list. I also tried selling a few things locally, but it's hard marketing. I just like to crochet. I don't like to market and sell.
Got all that squash put up yesterday afternoon, then I went out and picked the garden again last night and now I have more to do.
Got a big load of clothes to take to the Women's Shelter and/or the Good Will. I've been steadily winnowing out my closet! It still messes with my head a little bit to be giving away my big clothes. What if I need them again? I know, Crazy Vickie again.
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday!
Don't know how you do so much Karen. Love your energy.
Not much on agenda today. Woke up at 6 and it was 77 already. Hoping for RAIN here, need it badly, especially east coast down by Miami.
Prayers requested for Angus, heading out to see his sister and family as first part of Montana trip.
Jess, our middle wild child, not softened women turns 31. Wishing her reality of happy life, marriage, and love.
Good morning walk with Yoda...lots of lizards and squirrels treed. My leg is getting stronger each day, doing stretching, icing, heating, wearing my wonderful brace. Grateful for my cane.
Watched a Rachel Ray show yesterday and signed onto Food network. Will try 3 new recipes soon. She says they only take 1/2 hr. Shopping for the stuff will take longer. Will need to be organized in my RV kitchen...even with it being so large. Feel empowered to try...glad I watched Rachel in action for tips.
May you all have a wonderful, safe, funfilled, relaxing weekend.
Hugs, Monica
PS. Becoming entranced with some FB games..need to monitor time spent on them. Uploaded photo's. Organized my new photo program....TOO many duplicate or bad photos. VERY liberating indeed.
I find that one of the reasons I don't eat better than I do is I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. This week I dragged out my George Foreman grill I went to the store and bought healthy meats came home and portioned them out and put in baggies. I bought several type of fresh veggies and cooked them all and put them in the fridge. This took about an hour. Then for each lunch and dinner I have eaten this week I take out a baggie, grill the meat, and microwave a portion of the veggies. Since the grill cooks on both sides a meat patty is done in 3-4 minutes and chicken breast only takes 2 since I pound it thin first. I spend 5 minutes in the kitchen and I am done. Clean up is a breeze as I only have to wipe down the grill. I have eatten much better this week and droped 5 pounds.
