for all the welcomes!

What can I tell you about myself?? I am 49 yrs old.  Had open RNY almost 6 yrs ago. (hard to believe it has been that long).  Started out at 257 and was considered a lightweight.  I am 5'9. I have a daughter who is 21 and a son who just turned 24 and he also made me a g'ma!!  He is getting married in Vegas on May 28th so am looking forward to that.

I was married for 22 years and I really think having this surgery caused my divorce I am very sorry to say.  And yes it was all my fault and I will never deny that.

Lost most of my weight.  Was seeing a guy who knew how I felt about my deflated boobs, so as a b'day gift he got me implants and while we were at the consult he threw in a tummy tuck also!!  Really didnt think tummy was to bad, but hey, cant turn down a gift, LOL.  This person is just a friend now but he did say he would take care of the upkeep for them if and when necessary.  Yep, he has the $$$$

Did the online dating for awhile and met some nice guys but none were keepers.  Fell for 1 guy but he lives an hour away and I went there every weekend for 3 months. He works for a farmer so he was always working.  I couldnt move there and he couldnt move here so it was best to let that one go.

Dated a railroad guy but there schedule is so f***ed up, never knew if he was coming or going and golf was also his passion and I dont golf so he had no time for me.

Now seeing a guy (not from online) since Aug and its alright.  We have our moments and he basically lives with me but he does have his own apt.  He does like his beer and that isnt always a good thing but I love the guy.  Get this... he is just 40!!!  There is a lot to be said about younger men  :)

I never had any complications from my surgery although I will get something stuck on occassion and end up throwing up till I get rid of it.  I dont dump (wish I did).  I dont exercise (shhhh. ..dont tell anyone)  and I do drink alcohol.  I can eat anything, just not a lot of it so I never felt deprived.

What more can I tell you??  I have been at my job for 20 yrs.  Am so happy I had the surgery.  Life really is good.

Thank you again for the warm greetings.

Edit- and I look nothing like my pic.  I just dont know how to resize pics.  I have tried many times and I just cant figure it out on my Mac.  So if anyone has any tips, I would appreciate it.  Thx.

Wow!  How cool is that!!  I didnt even want to converse with anyone far away.  Wanted to keep them local or surrounding area.  When I want to be with someone I dont want to have to plan it.  This guy I am seeing, even though he practically lives with me, his apt is maybe 8 blocks down the street :)

Nice to meet you!

Hi Sue!

Thanks for the introduction.  I'm a new grandma, too!  Isn't it terrific?

I'm 53, soon to be 54 next month!  Wowzers.  How did I get this old?  Anyway, our 30th anniversary is coming up this month (also on May 28th; that's a lucky date for your son!)  I have two daughters, ages 29 and 26.  The oldest is working on her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Baylor.  The other lives in a soap opera, but what can you do about that?  She is doing a terrific job being a stay-at-home mom, and I am grateful for that!

My husband works overseas in offshore drilling, and if you stick around here, you will hear me ***** and moan about his work schedule.  He's gone a month and then home a month.  But he was doing this when we got married, so you can't say I didn't know what I was getting into!

I had an RNY on Feb 22nd, so I'm a newbie.  However, this is my second WLS.  I had a Molina band (a forerunner of the lap band) put on in 1993.  It worked great at first.  I lost 140 lbs, but eventually the band failed and I regained almost all of the weight.  I'm so grateful for this second chance at WLS and I feel really good about my procedure.  I'm older and wiser now, and I try really hard to be utterly compliant and not push the envelope!  I know you can sabotage the best surgery if you try hard enough.  Been there, done that.

I sympathize with your dating dilemmas.  I have a good friend who got divorced about 10 years ago and has been on the "dating middle-aged men merry-go-round" ever since.  Like you, she has some stories to tell!

Glad to meet you and get to know you a little better.

Best wishes!

 Vickie
