Well, a lot of the ratings are based on reviews of customers. I had heard bad things about Iams and Nourish before you guys anyway. But what you need to do is look at the ingredients. I started doing this when Kittle was diagnosed diabetic and someone suggested that, rather than feed him the vet diet food that he didn't like, I should find a food that he'd eat that was high in protein, low in carbs (much like a human diabetic diet). She was basing her formula on the Zone diet, but tailoring it for cats. It made sense, so I shopped around, settled on Nutro. I've since fed them Nutro, Pro Plan (which wound up going up in price so high, when gas prices went up), back to Nutro, but like I said, Juliette responded so well to the Blue Buffalo, I may use that ... she doesn't eat that much anyway.

You have a point there...going to take the sample pkg and compare it to the Nutrish and see what the diff is...my new vet said it was a good food so I don't think he would lie about that...would he?

OK just looked at the ingridents...Wellness has higher % of the good things in it than NUTRISH has so I guess I am going to go with the Wellness brand after all. It even has more good things in it listed also than Nutrish does!!!

Y'all need to go to the website www.dogfoodanalysis.com and read the independent reviews.  They have broken down the ingredients in such a way that you can understand what's actually in the food.  Sometimes the first ingredient says it's protein, but due to the moisture content, there's not as much protein in the food as you might think.  And the biggest problem seems to be with the fillers that they use.  Some are not good at all!

I did go to PetSmart this afternoon, and I was going to buy the Wellness food, but instead I got the Innova small bites.  Mainly because it was on sale, but also because it is a 6-star food.  So far, so good.  They ate it just fine for dinner.  If I decide to keep buying it, I'll order it monthly from that www.PetFlow.com.  Their prices are good, and will save me driving to another city every other week or so to buy more food.

Well when I switch foods with Bandit he seems to get the poops bad so not sure now when I will do this with him...just got a coupon FINALLY from NUTRISH and its for a FREE bag!!! So looks like I will use that up first. Saving money right now seems like a good idea. And he is doing well on that food anyhow...so might as well use it for now. Glad that you found a good deal in another food!!!

I am so jealous!  I am visiting my sister in Highlands, Tx right now and her neighbor is also harvesting from her garden right now.  I live in Arkansas and we just planted ours.  We have to wait until after Easter every year to plant.  I can't wait until I'm harvesting and canning this summer.

Morning Pat and OFF family...almost afternoon but hey I am here...LOL

Just got back a little bit ago from the foot dr and I am so pissed that he didn't do anything but take my money today!!! I got back next week for him to "tweak" that toe again to see if that will make it stop hurting me when I work so many hours. Why couldn't he do it today when I was already there?????? ****** me off big time!!! Like I am made of money?!  Sighs.......

Have nice weather right now but have a severe t-storm watch out til 7pm today. Had some rain over night though. Sat out in the nice warm sun yesterday and boy did that ever feel good!!!! Went to Big Lots and stocked up on sunscreen seeing as it was 30% off and that made it $2.80 a can. Bought 5 cans of it. That should last us all summer long.

Rick BBQ'd the chicken last night for supper and I made some deviled eggs. Was so good!!! Have left overs so guess that is what we will be having for supper tonight again. Never did get the veggies I wanted....oh well maybe tonight we will have them with the chicken. Eggs are almost gone anyhow.

Got the car gassed up when I saw one place upped the price to $4.19!!! found it for $4.05 and got it there...cost me $45.00 to fill that tank and it was just below 1/2 full!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When will the price come down again???

Talked to mom last night and she sounds so much better!! She said she is trying to wean herself off the oxygen now. Asked her if she was supposed to be doing that and she said she didn't know...grrrrr I told her she better wait til she see's the dr before she does that!!!! She said ok. Yeah right...bet she will not wait. I know my mom all to well!!!!She said she lost more weight again. She is down to 161 pounds now. I asked her if she was getting in her protein like she was told...noooo GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I told her she needed to drink the ensure or boost then and she says she keeps "forgetting" to have Bill get it for her. I told her that is what I would get her for her birthday!!! She said she wouldn't need it by then...I told her that her birthday was in about 3 weeks...she said that soon??? Oh yeah...guess she has no idea what the date is...scares me.

Well I best get going here and get things done. Prayers and thoughts going out to those that need them!!!

Phyllis -- it's not my toe!  It's one of the laproscopic incisions Dr. Kemmeter made to take out my gall bladder 2 wks ago today.  I saw him this past Monday, and it was pretty red looking, so he gave me instructions to cleanse it and put on the ointment.

I called the wound clinic and they told me to stop using the diluted peroxide and wa**** thoroughly with antibacterial soap, then apply the ointment.  I have an appt with them on Tuesday.

Hope you are doing well,
Pat
