I haven't had more than 2 minutes to myself since I got home from St. Louis. I'll be back in a minute to catch up with all y'all!

I arrived home on Monday, 24 hours later than planned. This was the best free ticket ever. I was already flying on a free ticket. When I arrived at the airport and got checked in I walked up to the ticket agent and asked if they needed any volunteers. . . They did. I had been watching the flight and knew that the seats were almost sold out. Success for me and another couple from Seattle. Got put up in a Crown Plaza Hotel. . . NICE! So whenever I book my flights now I try to come home on a Sunday or a Monday of a 3 day holiday weekend and as late as I can. In the case of this trip there is only one daily flight from St. Louis to Seattle and they pack it overfull.

Enough of that. I got home late Monday and then subbed the last 3 days of the week. It's so hard to say no this time of the year as many of the student aides have personal days to take that they have saved during the year. This coming week I'll work every day for a woman whose husband is having surgery in Spokane.

I now have THREE dresses for my son's wedding! Love the first dress I bought but decided after seeing the Mother of the Bride's dress that I needed "fancier and more formal." Dress number two is a peach dress with a lace insert and a chiffon like loose jacket. Dress number three I bought for Easter in St. Louis. It's "swingy". . . bright pink and black dress with a cute pink short jacket to cover my baggy arms. I love how it fits. . princess style is so much more flattering on me than other styles. I think I'll change for the reception and wear it to dance with my son!

None of the dresses were very expensive so I'll keep them all. I'm enjoying being mother of the groom. . . so much less to worry about. Just need to find shoes, probably an off white sandal and figure out what to do with my hair. I've been growing it out a bit and will probably get a loose body perm a few weeks before the wedding. Since it's a Sunday wedding I want something that is easy to fix. One of my friends who will be there will be "recruited" as my stylist for the day.

That's about it fom me. My husband's birthday is tomorrow. My birthday is March 7th and his May 7th. I always get a lot of "It's probably because you're so much older than me" comments for those 2 months after my birthday and before his. Hope the weather is nice enough for us to get out for a drive and a picnic. If not we'll probably go to a movie and out to dinner to celebrate his birthday and Mother's Day.

Both kids are busy so unless they are surprising us we won't see them for a couple of weeks. Also hoping to plant some annuals. It has been unusually cool here. I'm worried about a couple of our trees. My weeping cherry has only a couple of sad little leaves on it. It usually blooms in a shower of white blossoms by mid March. My flowering plum flowered but now the leaves are not looking good.

I ate out way too often and too much while I was gone. It's so hard to get back into that good routine but I really must. Nathan's wedding is less than 2 months away and I want to feel good about how I look then! You all have a nice weekend.

Morning all. Sober 185 days and so proud of me.
Karen, I am glad you are keeping all 3 dresses. Hard to find clothes at times that we really like. Love the idea of a quick change for the reception. Carla's MOB dress is lovely, she is still looking for gold strappy low healed shoes. I was and am amazed at some of the prices for shoes. I wish they made gold tone Croc's, these fit me, wide enough, no heals, grip the ground, and comfy. Not chic, I know but comfort is most important for me. So sad my feet have such little feeling in them due to neuropathy and hammer toes. Thank God for my cane, another "blankie"
We had a big Tstorm here yesterday, needed the rain. First time we saw Yoda react to thunder. He poured himself on hubby. It glowed and glistened during during the pink sunset, beautiful. Hubby vacuumed late afternoon. He loves the Arm & Hammer Pet carpet fresh.....but that fine powder creeps everywhere. He did the drapes, walls, furniture, carpets, got diverted just once polishing the oak trim. He was so pleased he got this done. Wonder what he will feel like when he gets up. Proud of him that he put his back brace on without me reminding him.
Going to Weiner Run at a local dog park this AM. Going to watch the Derby later too. Love the hats on display. I am having way too much fun on FB and the games there. Afraid of Farmville. Tried a hidden object, good for the brain, not on the eyes.
Enjoy the weekend all. Prayers for us all. Son, Angus, leaves for Montana in 8 days. He is so UP, he got the job at the Bozeman Co-op just from phone interviews, they bended to his time frame they wanted him so. Apartment and room-mate all set. New/old jeep he got is almost done for the journey. His current girlfriend not thrilled, he is helping her move her stuff out of apartment this weekend. His super is using security $$$, so he didn't have to pay May rent. Sold his crashed car for good money, sold his gaming systems and TV, a bunch of his clothes, donated to Goodwill, and being so proactive and focused. He calls some day 3 times just to vocalize what he has done and what needs doing.Thanking God he is UP beat and proud of himself. Worred about him after the car crash and the way his mind dwelled on all the BAD he was going through. Thanking God for helping hubby and I give him advice and words of comfort. and that Angus belleved in himself.

Morning Karen, Monica, Those that come later. . .

Just a quick drive by, as I have lots to accomplish in the next hour b4 I leave for support group and from there driving to Hartford, Connecticut to my dear friend Maureen's surprise 60th birthday party, an old co-worker, who I sat with and well we had a blast and for her 50th we took a cruise and had fun. She thinks that a group of us (her planning) are going to dinner at a local restaurant, but another of our former co-workers who moved up her way about 7 years ago, put together a party right under her nose in the place she lives, in the community room, so it should be funny.  I've rented a room to stay overnight, as I know it will be a long day and it is about 200+ miles each way, sunny nice day for a drive and I am looking forward to seeing Maureen, Donna and some others there.

Karen, you are good about finding free tickets, unfortunately whenever I travel I really have to get back when I am booked and can't do that, maybe one day. . .  dresses sound lovely, how about taking pictures and modeling. . .  miss you and the others from Dallas and Philly.  . .

Monica, you are really doing great!

Well, I'd better get a move on, will check in when I arrive back at hotel tonight, if they have wi-fi. .

You all have a wonderful day, wishing peace and strength to those facing the more challenging life issues.

Hugs, Laureen

Good Morning Karen and OFF Family,
I am still in Michigan, visiting my Munchkins.  Today is my granddaughter's dance recital.  She is three, and at dress rehearsal, she was dropped during a part of the routine and she ran off the stage crying.  My heart broke.  But, her teacher, off stage, encouraged her to take a deep breath and go back on.  She was a trooper.

This morning I am heading to an AA meeting in a nearby town, and then we are heading out later for an early Mothers Day dinner, and then the recital.

Of course, in my confusion packing, I forgot my cameras, and had to buy a cheap one for this visit.  Argh.

Have a great Mothers Day to all the Moms.  I don't get on the computer much, so I am not sure when I will be here again.  I return to Pennsylvania on Thursday.

Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.
It's Saturday! Yippee. We went to our son's for Cinquo de Mayo AND Fiesta Friday dinner. Yummo. I did just have half a chick enchilada and half a beef enchilada on Thusday, and the fajita meat with sour cream and quacamole on Friday. Our DIL's Dad is Mexican and she can cook up some great Mexican food. Although our son is the meat marinade man! so much for my diet! BUT I am still doing an hour a day on my treadmill and I adjusted my intake for the rest of those 2 days. Then tomorrow is Mother's Day at Outback!
My DIL didn't get her Edible Arrangement I ordered for her. It should have been delivered yesterday. Instructions said if she wasn't home to deliver it here. Her house is # 101, ours is # 92. When she got home from work there was a note from them. She called and they said no one had been home at 101 OR 92! I was home ALL day in the front room in front of my window! They said they would be right back. Nope! I guess I should have gone and gotten it myself, but I am trying to get an afghan done in time for a birthday!!
Karen, you are a "bump" expert! Good job. It feels like we get nothing from the airlines any more!
Monica, woo hoo! Go, go, go! Sober, a man who cleans, and a cute sociable dog ( even if he doesn't love thunder) what more can a gal ask for?
Today for me? EAS and salad ONLY! Also, another full day on Amanda's afghan.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hello to all

I've been cleaning and purging JUNK for the past 4 hours. The dumpster is almost over flowing. I planned to keep working but slipped on the just mopped basement floor. What a clutz!! Missing TeethThat seemed to be a sign to take a break before something (ME) broke.

Enough of a rest before my get up and go, gets up and goes.

Kisses

Karen, you fly girl, you!  Good for you!  I just got up at 1 on a beautiful, sunny, warm day, so I am getting outside before the day is soon over.  Not much planned this weekend but preparation for teaching on Monday, which begins a 4 week spring semester.  It will go by quickly, but there is much to cover in 4 weeks that is usually taught in 14, so I'll be busy.
Most of my plants are in the ground and looking good, the birds are chirping and I am able to walk in beautiful weather  -  who doesn't love spring?  I suppose someone doesn't!
Have a great weekend and don't tire yourself out with all that you have to do.

Hi Karen and my OFF family:

Not much going on here ... off to work in a little while. I have to get in the shower soon. Body is not happy today, lots of pain, didn't sleep well, kept waking up sweating, don't know why this is still happening. I sleep with an ice pack now. It's my constant friend (along with Juliette).

Karen, the dresses sound wonderful ... I'm not into dresses, but I'm sure you'll look wonderful in them. I just have problems getting the panty hose over my bad right knee, and I never could wear heels anyway. Guess I'm not a girly girl. Love seeing women all dressed up, though ... they look so lovely. Give me a nice pants suit, though, and some flats. I always wish they had dressy shoes in my New Balance style ... it's about all I'm comfortable in ... or my Birkies (well, I did find some sandals made by NB that are dressy and comfy).

Well, off to the shower, then lunch and work. Happy Moms' Day to all the mothers. I'm sure Juliette will give me some kitty kisses in the morning, as she usually does.
