Freaky Friday What's New?
I am up late, thankful that the Phillies are in San Diego to keep my company. Thursday had some unexpected surprises, and I am ailing as a result. My cortisone shots hurt more than I remembered. It may have been because I had two, one in my epidural area, and one in my hip. Then, my dentist visit ended up including two teeth being pulled. So, I am in pain all over right now.
Friday, has me heading into the city to buy some fresh, delicious kielbasa at a Polish butcher shop. Then, I have some phone calls to make, and some resting to do.
What's on your agenda today?
Hugs,
Trish

Hello, Trish and all who will follow:
Im doing much better...I am at peace now with Mom's passing..just still dealing with the funeral home and now that Danny is home and knows about Gramma, I am planning Mom's interment the following Saturday when hopefully, all the grandchildren can attend.
I'm sure that my sister Susan will not both to attend and, of course, Betsy in Quebec won't be here either due to lack of funds.
Did I mention that Betsy, my adopted sister has pretty well been confirmed as my cousin? Though Mother took her secret to the grave, the sister of Betsy's birth mother has confirmed the timing and the family information that Betsy was fathered by one of my cousin's who is dead twenty years now. It sure explains alot of things that I found puzzling.
Added to the "drama", is that, so far, we have found FOUR wills written by Mother...this will prove to be interesting. I will be making an appointment with the lawyer next week just to get all this part over with even though the estate cannot be settled til next year when the taxes are completed and Mother's RIFF is probated. What alot of education I have gained in the past sixteen years of caring for Mom.
We had intruders here last night...they rifled thru all the vehicles and took only Derek's GPS...they left behind professional tools and two TVS that we had left on the patio table on the porch while trying to decide what to do with them (from Mom's room). We always keep both Caddies and the Buick locked with no tempting items showing inside the cars . Obviously they were just looking for money and items easy to sell quickly. Thank goodness they chose not to do damage as well. They also were next door, both the house in the woods as well as the house/property that Derek manages on the other side of our house.
We have full-time security lighting, motion sensor lighting as well and of course Zeus who WAS barking but we didn't pay attention as he will bark when the coyotes and the wolf are around. John says that since we were "what seemed to the intruders as "slim pickin's". they are not likely to return. I don't think that our Niagara police are up to the CSI standards on TV *s*.
This weekend, Derek is away with friends, taking their 30 ft RV up to Picton to camp for 3-4 days. Dan & Amy just got home and he is struggling to "catch up" at work after being away for a week. Dan will come for Friday dinner to tell us all about their week and to show us all the photos that he has organized into a slide show for us...he said they packed alot of living in that week in Vegas.
I just do not feel like doing a big Easter dinner weekend this year...ths afternoon, I have an appointment in the
Falls at 2 then I will go to Sobey's and buy a couple of rotisserie chickens and a lemon meringue or a coconut cream pie..favourites of JB and Dan.
I find myself greatly fatigued regardless of how much sleep I get at night....I sense a bit of depression..I think a natural reaction to all that's been going on...won't be lasting too long.
I ran into an old lady talking rather loudly in Shopper's Drug Mart this afternoon..she was struggling to get some
12-can cases of sugar-free ice tea into her fabric shopping bag on wheels so I asked her if she needed some assistance. She happily accepted my help, explaining that she only has 10% vision and so shopping is rather difficult for her..and told me how hard it is to find SUGAR FREE iced tea *s*...then off she toddled.
This Sunday will seem very quiet for me..the first Sunday that I stay home and just "hang". I will get used to that.
Today I found TWO mother cats in a blanket-filled box on the porch...and nine tiny baby kittens of assorted colours as well as two SIX week old kittens whose mother has abandoned them. Both mothers are nursing all 11 kittens! I have to say it looks rather funny to see nine itty bitty kittens in line with two large fluffies all purring, kneading and padding at two warm bellies. I must take some pictures!
Next week I have an interview with Amy Whitney for a YouTube tv show or something like that...an old friend, a psychic /Dr/author and much more...recommended me to the interviewer.
I took my artwork to a computer techie today and asked him to create a polished version of my business card (I have trouble getting my computer to place specific elements in specific places....it's a circular picture of a lightning storm in purples and pinks..over that colour are the words in white script "Fusing Consciousness with Spirit"...I want that circle logo in FOIL on a light pink card...both sides printed. Should look rather stunning, I hope. He promised it back in one week and the price was reasonable. Then I will send that vector art to the print shop...hopefully that won't take very long either.
Well, off to bed.

I am so sorry to learn of your Mother's passing. I can't imagine what that will be like when it happens. Mom is not young anymore, and has been passing along her belongings to prepare for the end.
Please accept my condolences, and prayers for you and your family.
Hugs,
Trish

Sad that space invaders violated your vehicles. May whoever did this develop hemorroids with deep anal fissures....so that each day they are realize that **** happens it hurts. Oh the not so Christian Monica is out this morning.
Remember to be good to you. Stop taking care of everyone else, much like Carla, and do good for you.
Trish, Sorry things are so painful for you right now.
Grammylew, Glad you have the fill removed. So sorry it caused you so much suffering. Hope your swelling and trauma resvolequickly.
dizzy and sic****il about 9PM last night Hope it doesn't happen with every Therapy session. Suppose to do the head exercises at home. Yuck. At least I can do them w/out going in the car. Motion sickness is worse right now.
Everyone and a wonderful weekend. Take care. Mag

Don't overdo Trish.
Mom is 100% Polish, and kielbasa, stuffed cabbage and pierogies are what I grew up with, especially around the holidays. My sister and I got to the Polish meat store at 8:00 this morning and the line to get into the store was half a block long. It took us an hour and 45 minutes to get to the meat counter to be waited on. But, the kielbasa they make there is worth every minute. Plus, while we were waiting in line, they had a woman taking us samples of babka and pierogie. I bought a babka, and decided I need to learn to bake them.
Mom did not learn to make pierogies or babka, because she did not grow up her whole childhood with her Mom. She went to live with her father in 8th grade.
Happy Easter,
Hugs,
Trish

The snow igetting less & that makes me happy. The gardn stuff I started in the house is getting ready to plant. I was out pulling weeds before the snow was gone the first time! This has been a long winter!!!
Have a great day all, & those that are in pain, please take care.
Nancy, my heart goes out to you, remember all the good things with you mom.
Nan
Well, I'm in Dallas (or Grand Prairie, near the Ballpark). Got here late afternoon yesterday after driving in pouring rain out of Monroe and getting drenched taking my stuff to my car, so I was wet most of the morning. The LaQuinta Inn is fairly nice, it has a microwave and fridge and nice TV, but some of the stations don't come in very well. No matter, I'm going to be busy.
I didn't sleep very well ... although I was tired, I was in pain, kept waking up sweating, itchy ... got that scalp crud going on again (got an appointment next week with the dermatologist). Woke up several times and couldn't get back to sleep a few times, so I grabbed my book and read ... finished one book, picked up a magazine ... yawn, this is getting old. Finally went to sleep at 6 and slept somewhat better til 9 ... so now I'm having in room coffee. Maybe I'll walk across to the Denny's for breakfast. I'm going to my nephew's at 3.
The kielbasa sounds great ... my friend Roxane is Polish and it's something she makes for Easter (if she cooks ... lots of times she's working and her hubby might cook). My family has ham for Easter ... first time in a long time I won't be there (10 years). I'm going to miss them ... but spending Easter with my Dallas Sistah Janet, so that will be fun. My other family.
Anyway, time to get dressed. Have a good one.
Can't believe I am actually here in the morning for a change!
Nancy...losing a mother is so hard. I am so sorry! Yesterday would have been my mom's birthday. I never forget her. There is always something I want to share with her. Sorry your car was broken into...people need to have more respect for others. That sure seems to be going by the wayside these days. Hope you can get some much needed rest after all this settles down for you. Keeping you and yours in my prayers,
Trish...sounds like you had a rough day yesterday...hope today is better.
Eileen...glad you made it safely to Dallas...hugs our OFF friends for me.
I am looking forward to tomorrow . Grace and I will be decorating Easter eggs and getting ready for the Easter Bunny to come....so exciting!!
I need to go do a little cleaning with my precious little helper.
Wishing you all a great day and a Blessed Easter.
Prayers for so many in need.
Love and hugs to all.......connie d
