It's Monday and what's new?
... with you? What's new with me? ... I have all the basic services ... cable, Internet, phone ... woohoo! Came home tonight, and just out of curiosity, I checked my phone ... and voila! there was a dial tone ... so then I checked the TV , and I had cable. it took a while longer to get the Internet working ...had to reset the router, but finally got that going (I had to get off my chair and go into the other room).
So now I don't have to get up early for the cable guy. That makes my day.
We had a strange night at work ... our key cards didn't work, which meant we had problems getting in and out of the office. There was one door that worked without a key card. When I left, we had to go out through the door by the press room.
Today's my last day at work before vacation. Hope it's an easy one. What's going on with you?

Good morning. So looking forward to seeing you this weekend.
Here I am a little more than 18 hours from being 60 years old. I was talking about it at Sunday School yesterday. I don't feel sixty. I don't feel old. At least until I start thinking that my daughter will be 40 in four years.
My Rangers had a rough weekend. But they will bounce back. I will be out there Tuesday night. Then again Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Later.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good, mornin' ya'll.
You won't hear about the destruction here on the base (ten miles from us). One child died, her Mom airlifted to hosp. 5 homes totally destroyed, 20 to 40 homes uninhabitable, 20 to 60 minor damage (windows, siding, roofs). Our DIL works at one on the elementary schools on base. Three of their 5 buildings have various degrees of damage. No school for kids til they can figure out where to put them. Teachers and other staff report to the other elementary school on base and find out what they are to do.
I have an appointment with my surgical oncologist this morning. Hopefully he will give me a date to get this chemo port removed. Will be interesting to see the damage in the areas we have to drive through. Our hearts go out to those who have passed away, been injured or have damage to their homes.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Just saw the destruction on a quick news update ... horrific! I have lived through twin tornadoes when I lived in South Dakota and I was terrified. I'm always worried when I leave my cat(s) in stormy weather.
Hope you get good news from your oncologist. My friend Margie had her port in for years (from ovarian cancer). So I hope you get yours out.

Good Morning Eileen, Others,
Prayers to any/all affected by the terrible storms that have run through our country this past week, the rain came down so hard at times this weekend I thought surely we were going to float away and not far from me, some people suffered terrible losses through be flooded out of their homes, though so far as I know, while we had a tornado watch in effect, none did happen. . . terrible for those who lost all in other parts of our country and my thoughts are with them this morning.
Had a good weekend in spite of stormy weather, the nice part was that yesterday waking up to blue and sunny skies was a brightening factor that gave me the desire to get everything I could done and I even managed a visit with my son and his family.
I am at work, short work week, as we have Friday off and less crazy around here with the out of towner's all gone. . . Enjoy your day and wishing peace and strength to those of you dealing with life challenges,
Laureen

Sober 168 days and so proud of me.
Beautiful here today, but it will get hot. Back from GREAT, gentle Yoda walk. 7 interactions with other dogs on leashes and not one problem. Dog tips from that TV lady working.
Our barber we met here who cuts both our hair, called yesterday and asked if his family could come by and hang out with us. We have repeatedly told him we would enjoy meeting his family and spending time together. The RV resort has much to do and offer. They are a young couple, in their late 30's, blended family with 3 boys. I immediately bonded totally with his wife, Jenn. And she with me. Lots in common even with our age differences. She was an insulin diabetic, but she and her hubby decided in Jan to make drastic nutrional changes and she has lost 40, hubby lost 50, and oldest son 20 lbs, with just the changes. She if off insulin and Jeff, her hubby, on lower dose of BP meds. We hung out at the pool and talked and talked. I couldn't shut up, I wanted her know everything about me. Girl giggles and shared mother and women issues. They invited us for Easter. After our church services we will meet and go to Siesta Key Beach for the day. We will co-ordinate picnic party and have a fun day. Her family has much drama and Jeff only has his mom left, who is a dog sitter and busy Easter Sunday. What expectant fun.Their sons had fun and fell in love with Yoda.
Dressed in my swimsuit, sunscreen on. RV all cleaned up. Texas brisket set to go on BBQ later for slow cook. Already cooked in crock pot, now wrapped in double heavy foil with tasty tangy BBQ sauce, NOT my mom's Jewish recipe brisket like I usually make. Hubby cooks it on indirect heat, burner off where meat is, other burner on low. It will be so good, house not heated up from cooking.
Hope you all are well. Prayers to those in storms areas.
Oh on our walk this morning, I got to say the Pledge of Alligance to the huge American Flay flying over the RV Resort, it felt good.
