Thank you, Trish!  I am trying to just move on this morning.  It was, like you say, not as bad as it could have been.  And I didn't even want the Easter candy.  I just wanted to munch and munch.  It's a good thing there are no chips in the house!  :0

Good Morning Grammy, Others. . .

I am so excited that it is Thr and the sun is shining and everything is blooming and even though I only had 4.5 hours sleep because I was here until midnight, took 45 minutes to drive home and then Miss Foxie Roxie would not be put off for her petting time, I am feeling energized by the thought that these folks here for this hearing will mostly be gone late afternoon today, so while I am scheduled to be here until 6 today (maybe later based on whether or not they actually leave), I am looking forward to the weekend, which begins for me tomorrow at 4 p.m., and I think the weather is actually going to be pretty nice, so I see the dog park in Roxie's future.

Ok, so today is work, if I get outta here at a reasonable time and am able to keep my eyes open, an AA meeting after work.

You all have a great day and sending prayers for strength and peace to those of you dealing with life challenges. . .

P.S.  Kudos to Marcia for her continued sobriety!!!

Good Morning Grammylew,
I am running late today.  Overslept and had to scoot over to the local grocery store, and pick up peas for my tuna casserole I am making today.  Also had to walk Utley, who should have woken me earlier.

Today I am making a casserole for a girl at church, and attending my Bible study, which I have been absent from for a month because of surgery and pain.

I will also attempt to get out and enjoy the glorious weather we finally have.  Utley likes Spring as much as I do.

Have a great day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning.  I am new to this message board and am glad to find y'all.  I am in the process of preparing for WLS, have two more Options Classes (WLS thru Kaiser insurance).  I am glad to find the over 50 crowd since I am soon to be 58 and wonder if I have waited too long to do this.  I live in southern California in the desert and work in hospice administration.  I have enjoyed reading the posts on this thread.  About the dog, how about a little benadryl?  I know that the vet told us to give it to our dog when she had an allergic reaction to a wasp sting.

Hi Vnarn!  Welcome to OFF!  What's your name?

Thanks for the tip about the benadryl for Patty Kate.  I need to call the vet and find out what an appropriate dose would be.  She only weighs 14 pounds.

She just got an oatmeal bath, and then I rubbed some Aveeno lotion into her skin.  She's a short haired rat terrier, or I wouldn't have tried the lotion!  So far she's calmer.  I need to read the label on that new food more carefully.  Maybe it has wheat in it and I didn't realize it.

You'll really love this forum.  I've been here since pre-op in February and this group is the best!  I had to jump through the hoops, too, with BCBS insurance.  Had to take nutrition classes and go on a 3 month diet, etc.  Just hang in there.  It will happen.

What surgery are you having?

Afternoon Grammylew and OFF family!!!

Well I still haven't talked to mom yet...called last night but she was sleeping. So I will call later today IF i can keep myself under control!!! I start out ok then the crying starts up again!! GRRRR Why can't I be strong??? I used to be but not anymore...I hate it!!! But thankyou all for being here for me!! It sure means alot to me!!!! (((OFF))) I did contact my son's and told them about their grandma and they are worried also. And they will be there with me next week when she has her surgery. That will be comforting.

Took Bandit in to the vet this morning for his checkup and he is doing great! His weight is up some and not sure why that is!!!??? He is almost 13 pounds now!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe its all that hair he has again?? He does need a haircut!!! LOL Anyhow he got his shot that he needed so he can stay in the kennel when we go to Michigan and go to the Mackinaw Bridge. IF that trip still is on that is. Not sure with mom now. But anyhow he has his heartworm meds and all he needs for the rest of the year so he is good to go!!! All he needs is a bath and a haircut! :-)

Made some banana nut bread the other day and man the apartment is full of fruit flies!!!!!!! Where they came from I have no idea!!! We have fly paper hanging all over to get them and they are loaded and we still have them flying all over the place!!! I will never let bananas get that ripe again!!! OMG!!!! But the bread sure tastes good!!! ;-)

Well time to get going here and hit the grocery store and see what we can figure out what to have for supper tonight. Nothing sounds good at all...didn't eat much yesterday at all after the news about mom. Need to get some food in me today for sure though!!

Thankyou all again for the thoughts and prayers!!! Will keep you posted when I know more.

HUGS

Hi Carolyn and my OFF family:

Cleaning fairy is here doing her thing in the kitchen. Some may think this is an indulgence but it is a necessity for me because I just can't do it. Just putting away the mixer and George Foreman bothered my back. Think what vacuuming and cleaning would do. So it's well worth it ... plus it helps her because she needs the work.

Busy night at work, or at least it seemed that way. But that's OK, I like it that way ... better than sitting there doing nothing.

It's clouding up already and we're supposed to get storms tonight. I had the screen door open but then they started mowing, so the door was closed ... too much pollen in the air and too much noise.

Well, not much else going on . Hope all is well. Have a good day.
