Good morning y'all,

Had an email waiting from hubby when I woke up this morning.  He made it off the rig today!  The chopper pilot had to spend the night on the rig, so he was up and ready to leave early.  DH should be flying into Houston tomorrow by early afternoon.

So, I have to confess, I didn't do so well last night.  That old emotional eating dragon raised its ugly head again.  At least I didn't get into the Easter candy!  I did get into the peanut butter first, and then cheese and saltine crackers.  I felt rotten when I went to bed, like I had cheated and "blew" it.  I hate that feeling and that mentality!

I plan to do much, much better today.  Already drinking my water this morning.

So, got a question for all you dog lovers.  My little Patty Kate is about to scratch herself to death.  I don't have time to take her to the vet today, and tomorrow I'll be gone to Houston.  I'm wondering what I can give her to soothe her and encourage her to stop scratching.

Hope everyone has a good Thursday!

So glad hubby is off rig. Just asked what his status is.
You ate the food, beating yourself @ it. Get over it and move on. Minute to minute. You chose the "good" food over the Easter candy. I am saying special prayers each day that the Easter candy hidden in the garage will not be yelling for you. IF you eat it, you will do such emotional damage to yourself.....think you are feeling rotten about peanut and crackers, just wait if those candies make it into your mouth. We all have "Stupid Monica Trick" moments, BUT setting yourself for a possible failure worries me. You deserve better. So my fingers, toes, traveling bra are crossed for your success.

Vickie, when my kids got the chix pox, pedi doctor suggested frequent cool baths, not too deep, with baking soda added for soothness. I'd run a hot bath, add the baking soda, let it cool, then let them play. Helped them not scratch and get pox scars.
Have used this on one of our dogs who had an allergic reaction to a household cleanser. It helped. Brush the Patty Kate gently and let her soak.

Uh huh.  Good suggestion.  I just dug through the bathroom cabinet and found some Aveena oatmeal bath.  Think that might help, too.  I don't think we have fleas, or Lulu would be scratching, too.  I think she might have a food allergy.  Patty Kate is just super sensitive, but I've never been able to identify anything besides wheat that she allergic too.  I did just switch to Iams pet food about 2 bags ago.  It's probably the food.

The oatmeal is good, look in your fridge for baking soda, that is an easy quick fix without mess.

Hi Vickie,
Give yourself credit...you had protein in your snack of emotional eating...and you did not get into the Easter candy.  That is so much better than it could have been.  Develop a plan to deal with the emotions next time, like taking a walk with the dog, or journaling.

Beating yourself up is not going to help you, and you have so much to look forward to with hubby on his way home now.

Hugs,
trish
