Nan, my prayers are with you and your son. What branch of the service is he in?
With 26 years in the Marines our son has been to Iraq 3 times, he was also in the first Iraq war (when thy were in Kuwait), and when they had the big fight aboard oil rigs in the Gulf (I think about 20 years ago). It is a scary time for them and for us. The military has their own agenda, and you can pretty much plan on them doing whatever the service member does NOT want. I think they do it on purpose.

Jamie is in the Army, a sergent. He has been in 10 years. Not old enough to have been in the first Iraq war. He was in Iraq once, this is his 3rd. time in Afghanistan. It is his daughter that had cancer. So far she is doing good now. Thank you, I am just so fed up!! Oh well, he is his own man, but still my baby, at 31.

Oh my, what branch in military. Does he plan on manking this a 20 year career? Have you contacted your local elected congressman or women or senators? Does he want to go with his unit? What does he do, on the fighting lines or base backup. If he is receptive to making inquiries about getting congressional help to not be deployed go for it. Confidential hopefully without his superiors knowing he questions a 4th deployment. If he is willing to fight the deployment good. 4 times is too many. There are many jobs state side that require staff.
When hubby came home from Viet Nam, he had 7 months left on his 3 year sign up. He was to be stationed in Texas. His parents contacted 2 Senators and 2 Congressmen in CT. They quickly got him assigned to a post in VA. He could come home for visits. Even made it to my college Senior Prom and Graduation. WE worked for these officals during future campaigns as thank yous for their intervention.

Monica, I think it was his idea. He is going to train troops this time. Last time we are not sure what he did. You know can't talk about it. He is supposed to get out next year. He is divorced & his girls live in Texas with mom & new DH. He was the only one with no family in the area that he is in now. I'm sorry, just not habdling this well. I will try to unscramble my thoughts & explain more later. Thank you, Nan
