I lost my Mom...
Loved, loved, loved your thought of Mom taking off her coat and walking into the light and being together once again with your Dad. How beautiful!
You will always miss your mom. Mom's are special that's why God gave us Mom's. You know your a mom! Pass on a hug to that wonderful Derek, he did well sitting next to grandma, holding her hand and smiling big for her. Now that is something very special indeed. Sending Grandma off with a grandson's smile! God Bless Debbie
With great sadness I read your post and you seem to be taking it in your stride, please don't feel badly about not being there when she went home to be with your Dad, you have always treated her with love and care and her having her "favorite grandchild" at her side hopefully brings you much comfort, as I am sure it did her.
Much love and prayers coming to you and your family at this sad time.

Nancy,
No matter how old we are, how many children/grandchildren we have, how responsible a job, there is something in the loss of our mother that permanently changes us and hurtles us into a state of mind in adulthood that no other loss can. It sounds as though your mom was at peace at the end and had loved ones with her, and now she is free of earthly cares and with your dad again.
I hope the many happy memories of your mom and dad support you through these first difficult weeks; and may their memory be a blessing to your and your family and all who loved and knew them both.
With you in spirit,
Judy G. from Waltham, MA (aka Shelto1946)
I hope and pray the pain you are now feeling will soon be replaced with many happy memories.
Take care of yourself.
