surgery day
Hello, Have been busy getting prepped for my surgery. I have been doing ok with the pre surgery diet. Lost about 13 lbs. I went to phoenix on Fri to get set up at my friends where i will be staying until after my post op appt. So I have 1 more day left and then I am going to change forever. So please all keep me in your prayers and I will check back after I get out of the hospital to let ya know how it went. Thanks for all your concern up to now and sending blessings to you all.
Love, Sharon

Good luck and keep us posted, you are in our prayers, Monic
Hi Again Sharon. Wow!!! Moncia you did a great job of explaining things. Wish I had known about this forum before my surgery. The only thing I have to add(and your doctor or nurse probably said it.) They put air(a Gas) inside your abdomen so they can see better and work better. You may have gas pains in your right shoulder and/or abdomen. The best thing you can do is walk. Not long walks. Just short walks even the night of surgery. Getting moving soon is a good thing. Of, course, the nursing staff will help you at first. Short walks after you get back to your friend's house. My doctor said 4 to 6 times a day. We will all be waiting to hear from you when you are up to it. Mag

Hi Sharon! I was just thinking about you this morning, and wondering where you had got off to! You probably won't feel up to posting for several days after surgery, but you be sure and get back to us. We'll be waiting to hear from you!
I had a lot to tell you, but Monica just about covered it! She's a wonderful resource for us newbies here on OFF. The only thing I would tell is don't be in a hurry to "eat" anything after surgery. They will bring you a surprising amount of liquid foods while you are in the hospital. You don't have to eat it all. You'll be hydrated from the IV, so just take it easy on the "real" food and let your new tummy heal. I'll bet I didn't take 2 or 3 bites or sips of anything for the first 3 days. I was very careful and as a result, I didn't have one bit of nauseau or tummy pain at all.
Best of luck to you. I'll be praying for you!
