Hi Vickie!! The Mackinaw Bridge is a 5 mile long bridge that connects the lower and upper parts of Michigan. Its a big bridge and one that I do not care to cross if its windy or foggy....lol Beautiful area upper Michigan!!! Can't wait to go back up there and see it through Rick's eyes!!!

Just back from Yoda walk and VA meds waiting for us on the steps. God thank you for giving me the strenght to not drink, and forge ahead to make the calls I did. Hubby in disbelief. WOW, the relief can be seen on his face and body and mine too.
Thank you all for your words of support to me. Without you all here I would still be at rock bottom. Only until I posted on OH did I begin to think about my recovery.

Good morning y'all!

TGIF for all those who work and this is their Friday!  I remember how that felt!  Now all my days are just about the same, so I no longer get so excited over the weekends.  But Fridays are still a great feeling.

Monica, I'm very proud of you!  I read your post on FB.  There is just something wrong with that new VA doctor.  She is not the right person for her position at the VA.  A real mis-match.  And that sweet nurse up there knows it too!  Hopefully, that doctor won't be there for long.  If enough complaints are lodged against her, they'll transfer her somewhere else.

Still working my way down my monster to-do list today.  I am managing to mark items off this week.  Today I need to tackle quite a bit before the working world shuts down for the weekend.

Judy, I'm so glad you are feeling better!  I'm just a little bit sore in the back from my mowing yesterday and I can hardly stand it.  I don't know how you've coped with chronic pain for so long!

Yesterday I had my first taste of bread since surgery.  I bought some whole wheat English muffins at the store.  Yesterday, for my snack, I toasted one half and spread about a tablespoon of peanut butter on it.  I just didn't know what to expect from my new tummy, but I did fine.  (Just FYI, pb on ww is one of my "allowed" snacks from my doctor, but he also warns that bread is very hard for some patients to handle.)

And I have finally found a protein drink that I can tolerate.  It's called Pro Joe by Bariatric Advantage.  I bought a couple of bottles while I was at the doctor's office last Monday, just to try them.  Kinda expensive, but I can only drink about half a bottle at a time, so one bottle lasts 2 days.  I got on their website and ordered a case of it last night.

Well, I'm just rattlin' on and on here.  Avoiding my to-do list!  I'd better close and get started on something.

Best wishes to all!

Connie,

A case of 12 bottles is $29.95.  I think that's high, but if I can stretch each bottle to 2 days, it's a little better.  A 9.5 oz bottle has 20g of protein.  This is the first protein drink I've found that doesn't make me gag.  I bought a single bottle each of the mocha and the chai tea at the doctor's office last Monday.  I really liked both of them.  So I ordered the variety case, because they also have a vanilla flavor that I wanted to try.

My doctor recommended all BA products, so that's where I bought my first round of vitamins and supplements.  Some of it I like and some I don't.  I DO like their calcium chews!  They just came out with a new flavor--caramel!  I ordered a bag of them to see if I like them.

I think their calcium chews are very high priced, but I couldn't choke down the less expensive calcium tablets.  Gag.  The wild cherry flavor was like trying to chew and swallow a big horrible sweet tart.  So I guess I'm stuck buying the chews.

I did manage to dodge the shipping charge by signing up for a case of the Pro Joe on auto delivery once a month.  Just FYI.

That stuff looks similar to Bariatric Eating's Believe coffee drinks ... except they have one more flavor in the cappucino. I like those ... I usually get the cappucino. I use them for my dinner at work because I don't have time for a break.

same as yours, although sometimes they're on sale. Their shipping is expensive too. I do like the cappucino, though.

Vickie....at that price I will stick to my Boost Glucose Control High Protein Drink.  I don't use them everyday just usually when I am just in a hurry or when I know I need more protein and am not hungry. I get 6 bottles for 8.99...Chocolate. There are 16 grams of protein per bottle. This last week I bought a case and paid under $6 a six pack. I watch the sale ads....Walgreen's have the best prices.
I love my Chocolate Chewy Bites however now they have Caramel.  I want to try them the next time I order. I watch for sales on those too. I am a bargin shopper!!

Thanks for the information.

Hugs......connie d
