It's Tuesday! What's New?
Hi. I've been reading the mouthwatering Monday recipes. I'd never heard of black bean brownies until I read through the recipes that were posted today. I'll have to try those.
Had a busy day today. Along with some computer problems -- we were busy making arrangements for our trip to CA next week.
Tomorrow, we are meeting with an insurance agent to see if we can find a reasonably priced secondary insurance for my mother-in-law. I've spent many hours talking with 16 different people at my father-in-law's old employer to see what insurance is available for her through them. It's pretty much been an exercise in futility. I feel that they've just passed me from one person to another and not offered any real solutions. Thus, the local insurance agent. At least he will know what insurance is available in Oregon that the health care providers in our small town will accept.
After we meet with the agent, we're going to have Chinese food. It's been a long time since we've had that. We usually have one order of pork-n-seeds and one order of shrimp egg roll. (We eat the stuffing out of the egg roll and discard the outer fried crust. Anyway, we are looking forward to having a meal out for a change.
Hope that you all had a good day today.
What a pleasant surprise to see Joyce S. posting!

Hi everyone
I've not posted for awhile, been busy. Today, (yesterday I guess..Mon.) I declared a service day. Got my car serviced (oil change etc.) Got myself serviced, coumadin clinic and lab work in the a.m. and allergist in the p.m. Got home around 5:30. Paid the bills that had come in since Friday. Not an exciting day but a necessary one.
Tonight is the opening night of the rodeo. Rascal Flats is performing. I enjoy the concerts but I really enjoy the rodeo itself. Hope to go several times in the next 3 weeks.
Made a last minute decision to go see the grandkids this past week-end. They grow so fast. Got home late Sunday evening. Traffic was a bear I can only assume that some of it was due to the rodeo coming to town.
I think I'll take a tylenol and try to get to sleep. I have been watching 24 on my computer. I was 3 weeks behind and now I am caught up. Don't know why I got started . I watched the 2nd season and now this one. Seems like I am wathcing the same shows just different actors. Terrorist are threatening us on our soil and the Government is corrupt. This time the President is a good guy ( gal actually) but no one can be trusted. Members of her staff, secret service, FBi etc are all on the terrorists payroll, yada yada yada. Maybe at the end of this season Jack will be abducted by aliens instead of the Chinese.
Well Have a good Tuesday.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Linda, Curious about your quest for a good nights sleep. You mentioned hypnosis and tape/cds to listen to. What do you think after a few weeks? Suggestions for me? Still trying to sleep. I have pulled back from the daily Tylenol PMs after reading about side effects. I sure need more solid sleep than I get.

I find that the tapes are helpful. They can be found at barnes and noble and sometimes best buy, about the same price at each store. The ones I have are Delta sleep brainwaves with music. The sales person at barnes and noble knew just what I was looking for. They are with the meditation and yoga type CDs. The hardest part is finding ear phones that are comfortable enough to sleep in. They also need to be stero. You are supposed to hear the tape in both ears. Must have something to do with right brain left brain stuff. Give them a try. They are reasonably priced.
Linda,
I have to tell ya that CD you sent me (weight loss one) really helps me sleep ... it's so relaxing. Don't know if it helps me with the weight loss yet (I haven't gained at least ... other than the weekly water weight in my legs) but it really lulls me to sleep. I put that on and try to read in bed, and I start to zonk out.

Good Morning Cindy & OFFr's,
Well I'm waiting for the house to warm up some and then I will get dressed and head out to work, hopefully, the side streets I have to drive to get out of town won't be too bad, though with temps having been down in the teens last night after the snow, it might be pretty tough, I'll just take my time ;) I was grateful to have an extra day at home with Dillinger, though my time off bank account has taken a big hit this past couple of weeks, however, I do accrue time off at over 2-1/2 days per month, so I should be ok, as I am hoping to take every Friday off between Mermorial Day and Labor Day as vacation time, my mind is looking towards summertime and longer, better days ahead. . .
Well folks, not much else to say at this moment, I'll be back when I get to work to see what the rest of you have been up to.
Have a wonderful day and prayers, positive thoughts and hugs, Laureen
