What we are eating and what's eating us.
Bad George. Very Bad George.
Admitting here my food choices yesterday stunk.
B - I did fine - my omolet
L - Fried Catfish (breaded) and french fries
S - Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, banana pudding (NOT SF)
Snack - Chex mix
I paid for supper. I broke into a sweat. Gut hurt. I am ok now. Hope I stay that way.

George,I am so sorry you had to go through that yesterday! I find that when I eat white food (No that is not food cooked by White people)
,but enriched flours, starchy carbs and sugars, that it sets up a craving for more food.
I do not know if this is the case in your cir****tance, but you may want to take a look at your plate,or test your reactions to different foods, like in the beginning when a lot of us were advised to only introduce one food at a time...
I hope today goes great for you..

Hi Linda, as a 'newbie' to this Board I want to say thank you for your positive energy, great humor, and encouargement (I've been reading your posts...). I've decided that today, I'm going to live my life with the pure understanding that this is about me and my body - nobody else, just me and my body and what I want in that regard... fitness and strength! That's it. In order to achieve it, I must LIVE it - so today I will spend my lunch hour moving my body in a way that feels fit and strong. And I will eat healthily to support what I want and need for myself: fitness and strength:
B - protein shake
S - celery & PB
L - small chef salad
S - small apple
D - dunno, but will just be protein and veggie of some sort
Going to a classical music concert with hubby later. Be well, all. Maureen

Linda,
I went to the Unemployment Office yesterday to look at job listings. Aside from poultry processors (I really, really don't want to do that), truck drivers, and forklift drivers, the positions available required a degree in Agriculture. But there was a 20-hr/week office helper position available that I applied for - you have to be 55 (finally, it's an advantage to be my age!) and low income (the woman who interviewed me didn't know what the income requirements are). It pays $6.55/hr - whoopee!
B: chai tea protein shake
S: iced skinny latte
L: chickpea patty w/ tahini yogurt sauce
S: yogurt
D: salmon w/ avocado dip, red pepper & cauliflower salad
S: chocolate protein bar
To answer your question from yesterday, I have always enjoyed gourmet cooking. I was taught how to cook by a professional chef when I lived in Scotland when I was 17, and she gave me the confidence to try just about anything in the kitchen. She used to say that a variety of colors, textures, and flavors is the key to a good meal, especially when cooking for invalids, and I find that's very true when cooking for someone (like me) who's trying to learn to eat to live instead of live to eat.
